"This is an incredibly charming hotel. Each room is creatively and uniquely decorated. The staff treated us like family, calling us by our first names each time they saw us. Breakfast is wonderful, as is the customer service. There was not a single thing that wasn't first rate. I highly recommend the Hotel La Basílica, and if we ever return to Quito, this will be where we stay. Special shout-out to Media, Josalie and Byron."

"A fine and warmly family operated old building tastefully updated to meet the needs of travelers visiting the area. And just an easy block and a half walk from the Plaza Grande; what more could you ask for? looking hard to find something to fault, the only thing I can think of is that the showerhead was a little difficult to reach in order to direct the flow of water. I hope that Lucia and her son Luis will be there to welcome me when I next visit their fair city."

"This is a lovely little hotel with a very welcoming feel and great staff. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the food (breakfast and dinner) in the cosy restaurant was excellent. The decor is designed to celebrate the cultural heritage of Ecuador and the whole layout is very attractive. The availability of complimentary fresh fruit in the sitting room area was a nice touch. Nothing to fault here, highly recommended."

"I can't express enough how much I enjoyed my stay at this location. The service was better than any experience I've ever had. I actually cried when I had to leave. It felt like a family there. It was safe, clean and each room is beautiful. The garden surrounding the rooms is just so peaceful. I definitely want to come back again."

"We had an amazing time in Quito staying at the hotel. Lovely building with interesting furniture and art. Bedroom was comfortable and extremely clean. Lovely bed, excellent views . Shower was hot and hotel provided us with a heater when it got chilly. David the manager and he's partner pierrina are very helpful. We were met at the airport by pierrina, the transfer was easy. Quito itself was wonderful, so much to see and the architecture is devine. It's lovely to walk around the old town . Rosa...
