Hui Hui House-Family friendly Holiday Home- The gate way to Milford & Fiordland.

The Hui Hui House is the perfect place to chill out and enjoy Te Anau. Just a short 10min walk or bike to town and the lake front or a quick drive to Fiordland National Park.
The native garden and outdoor dinning area has a fire pit and BBQ. It creates a private sunny space to socialise with friends and family.
This cosy 3 bedroom house has a full kitchen and includes basic children and infant utilities.

Hui Hui means the gathering or the coming together of people so we have replaced TVs with board and yard games. Free Wifi is provided.

The Central location is perfect for day trips to Milford Sound and many of New Zealand's famous great walks and day walks including the Milford Track, Routeburn Track, Kepler Track, and Gertrude Saddle.

Full laundry washing and drying facilities provide a holiday reset for your next adventure, but once you settle in you might not want to leave.

There is a self contained tiny house in the backyard which sometimes Myself our Alicia may stay to do garden maintenance etc. We will always give notice before your stay if we are stopping by but please let us know if you prefer 100% privacy. we are happy to accommodate your requests.

Què hi ha als voltants

  • This was taken at the Kea Point lookout at Mt Cook National Park. It was an easy trek and the view was phenomenal. We got there just as the sun was about to go behind the mountains so I was glad that I could capture what was left of the light on those snow-capped peaks. The giant mountain there is Mt Wakefield and just to the left of it is Mt Cook, nearly fully covered by those stubborn clouds. The Muller Glacier down the bottom definitely gave the image a good colour contrast as well.

  • If you can afford it, I recommend splurging on a helicopter flight or fixed wing plane ride to Milford from Queenstown or Wanaka. The views of Fiordland from above are unbeatable.

Disappointing

The house was in an excellent location but we felt there were some areas which require improvements in order to justify the cost and the information presented on Stayz. These included:* A squeeky toilet door, which was not only noisy, but difficult to open from the inside. *An oven which was out-of-order (we were not informed of this).* The microwave was placed on top of the fridge and was difficult to reach. It had not been cleaned after the previous occupant.* The kitchen sink was not clean and for the number of people staying, there was not enough cutlery, no handy towels, tissues, gladwrap etc. *A clothes horse which collapsed when clothes were put on it (there was no outside clothes-line).* The fact that therenwas no TV should have been advertised.We did enjoy our stay and we submit this in the hope that the owners will rectify these small issues in order for future guests to have a more comfortable stay at Hui Hui.

We really enjoyed the house, amenities and location within walking distance to everything. The host was very responsive to our questions and gave us valuable information for fishing and outings. It was a wonderful stay.

Great property

We loved Hui Hui House! It was a comfortably sized property for two adults and three teens. And it was convenient enough for the centre of Te Anau and the lake for our needs. We would hope to be able stay here if we were going to Te Anau again.

Lovely stay close to the beautiful Sounds

We enjoyed this stay so much. Very calm, peaceful, yet centric, well - equipped house. Mark was a great host, the communication was easy and quick. Very much recommended if you are around for Milford Sounds or Doubtful sounds.

Five Stay and Play Five Crowns

Very relaxing stay, lovely and warm. Very well stocked with kitchen utensils etc. Hosts weren't on site during our stay but do think information should warn propective hirers that they live in a tiny home on the rental property site.
