The living room was a very nice room and faced the sunrise. Eating breakfast at the table was a pleasure.
The bedroom and bed were fine and there was enough closet space to hang things up. The window latching mechanism was damaged and the windows would not stay latched without a suitcase pushed against them to stop the draft.
The kitchen is mostly ok. There was no draining rack and only one kitchen towel which seemed to be both hand and dish towel. No tea towels. The manuals for the appliances were in a bag above the stove. A page of abbreviated instructions would have been appreciated. Don't attempt to use the oven and the toaster at the same time. The breaker panel is to the left of the entrance.
There is a bit of a pong in the bathroom which comes and goes. It didn't bother us that much and if you keep the door closed it doesn't affect the rest of the apartment. You get whiffs of that same smell from time to time walking along the river. The bigger lack in the bathroom is the absence of any extractor fan or any heat. This might not be a problem in the summer but we were there in March and the bathroom was cold and wet. Towels had to be dried on the chairs in the living room.
There is a washing machine but no dryer and nothing is ever going to dry on the lines in the well out the back of the kitchen.
I liked the location. The big market is just across the road and Pingo Doce and Continente are within easy walking. You are just around the corner from the river promenade
