Beautiful views! Tons of birds! Insane sunrise over the lake, with a gorgeous sunset. We had an amazing time and the space is huge and the hosts were nice and helpful. Lots of games and is a perfect place for a family get away.

Boat Show VRBO Lodging

We arrived on Wednesday (3-19) and left the following Monday (3-24). The lodgings were comfortable with superb views over Lake Dora. We were next to the entry to the Dora Canal and enjoyed watching the boating activity.

A Nice Getaway With A Perfect View

After dealing with two hurricanes on Florida's west coast in four weeks, we needed a getaway. This was the perfect recipe. Amazing views, clean house, everything you needed for a great stay. Sunrise over the lake every morning is breathtaking. Only negative is bugs in the evening/night, which are a fact of lake life.

Beautiful views

Beautiful views. We enjoyed sitting on the screen patio. Very nicely done. The host was super friendly and helpful. He responded to us right away. We are looking forward to going back in the winter.

Nice lake view

Overall this house was great, nice and clean, wonderful lake view and perfect location. They paid attention to all the extras that you might need for your stay and went above and beyond to provide everything to make it a pleasant stay. The only thing that was missing were the kayaks that were listed under amenities which we had planned on. A few things needed to be finished like a working garbage disposal or a plug put in the sink so garbage didn't go in the drain. We couldn't get any of the blinds to work so we weren't able to close any of them. Overall we enjoyed our stay and loved the view.

Evidently, from what we were told, VRBO ALLEGEDLY did not tell the host that we booked a stay. Therefore, the home had not been cleaned after the last vacationer. The host had someone come in and "tidy" the property after "learning" of our booking. The management company admitted they were at the home the day of our stay, enjoying friends and cocktails ?! Unfortunately, VRBO had provided the emails of the management company prior to our stay… Of which I emailed several times prior with our confirmation number.. The management company or host was well aware of our booking and did not answer/reply/look into our booking. Attached are photos after someone came to "tidy" the house after our arrival. We were beyond disgusted and spent the next two days trying to find alternative accommodations where we were unsuccessful. We were utterly distraught and will never consider this booking again.Our main concerns included:When we were arrived, there was marijuana and cigarettes in the ashtray.Laundry piled up from the last tenants and within the washer-disgusting.Stains in the freezer/refrigerator/carpets and crumbs left on tablesNo/expired water filter in their refrigerator and no iceThe garbage disposal was not hooked up and was a slow draining sinkDirty bathroom rugsStained bathroom towel towelsAbsolutely disgusting floors in the bathroomI am happy to provide additional photos.We were baffled to read the guest check-in book addressed some of the same concerns prior!?!?

Great location and view…

Cottage needs cleaning and possibly a check up from owner after cleaning lady cleans or before guests check in. There were small insects on window sills and in bathroom. I had to clean. The screened in porch was filthy: ashtray full of cigarette butts; table top with drink/food smears; floor filled with lizard droppings(?) and dust and door frame to outside filthy with dust and bugs. I swept the porch! Outside walls/window frames of cottage could use a cleaning. Dishes, glasses and silverware were not clean either. Washed everything before using.

Great Place on the lake.

I visit the area about 2x a year. The place we normally stay was booked this time so I looked for another location and found this place. We arrived early and wanted to check the place out first. We met the cleaning lady and she was very friendly and gave us some advice and some tips for the house and the area and pointed out a couple gators and told us about the firewood for the fire and grill, unfortunately we did not have time to use it but good to know for possible next visit. She called the owners for us and they gave us the ok to put are stuff inside early since she was almost done cleaning. All 4 of us enjoyed it. Coming from Wisconsin we are always amazed by the beautiful Florida sun rises. I got up with my coffee and watched the sunrise in the screened in sun porch as it came up over the lake. Very close to downtown and nice little neighborhood. The only complaint came from the spouses that they did not have a outlet to plug in hairdryer and curling iron in the bathroom and had to take down the mirror in the living room(was put back properly) so they could get ready. More of a recommendation vs a complaint. The guys had no issues.
