Home was absolutely beautiful and perfect location. Everything we needed for a weekend away was provided, kitchen was fully stocked for cooking meals. The large basement was perfect to hang out in and our kids absolutely loved the pool table. The weather was a little chilly so we didnt really get to utilize the patio but for warmer months the patio would be great to relax on. The back yard was huge and perfect for our kids to run around. The home was very welcoming and we are already planning our next trip back. Hosts were very responsive with trip details and communication.

The house is perfect for a relaxing week with a bunch of people. There are a wide variety of areas for gathering & playing games or having quiet conversation. (We barely used the game rooms downstairs because it was so lovely on the porch or outside.)Thank you for arranging the Osprey's regular fly-overs! They were delightful.

Annual Family Catch-Up in Tappahannock

Comfortable beds, plenty of room to stretch out & enjoy each other’s company, reading on the sunporch, water balloons on the lawn, fishing and kite flying on the dock, a visit to Fossil Beach ( the littles went home with three shark teeth), early morning walks at the wildlife preserve, and a lovely celebratory dinner at 1710 Tavern. A wonderful week with family! Thanks so much for allowing us to experience such a beautiful place!

Charming House, Beautiful Waterfront

This house was all that we had hoped for and more. We stayed for a week. It feels like a well cared for, much loved, family home. The waterfront view is spectacular. The swimming is great for kids who are learning to swim: shallow, soft bottom, gentle current. At the end of the pier the water ranges from 2-4 feet, depending on the tide. The Rappahannock River is shallow with a muddy bottom almost everywhere within 20 miles of Tappahannock. The host was very responsive to all of our questions before we arrived. No problems arose while we were there, so I never had to contact him during our stay, except to ask for a late checkout, which he provided. The house is not in perfect condition, a few doors stick a little, for example, but only very minor things like that. The house was ideal for a big family gathering. All six of the bedrooms are nice and some two are quite large. There is a big basement. I think this family likes to play pool because the pool table has all the trappings: chalk, wires for scorekeeping, etc.

Was perfect for our wedding weekend

We got married in Tappahannock the weekend of December 21. I rented this property for my bride and her bridesmaids to stay and get ready in the night/day of our wedding and then we stayed at the house an extra day after. The property has amazing views of the river and tons of space. The home is dated, however it is shown through the pictures in the listing. We would rent this property again. The owners were great to work with!

Thanksgiving Vacation

My family and I came to the area to spend Thanksgiving with my son. This property was the perfect place for our family. We loved being on the river and watching the sunrises in the morning. The house was clean and had everything that we needed. Scott was easy to get a hold of. We would definitely stay there again!

Paddling Adventure

Was providing a place for son and friends to try to complete 2 legs of their paddle from Fredericksburg to the Chesapeake. Very nice house. 14 year old granddaughter enjoyed the basement pool table.

Little Piece of Paradise

Such a beautiful view and plenty of space inside and outside of this lovely home. We have been renting for several years and always look forward to going back. Quickest two weeks of the year! Love it there.

Wonderful property

This river home was truly a gift to my family. The location is beautiful, the house is cozy and has everything you need to settle in and feel at home. The house is so much bigger than it looks in pictures and there are so many rooms that you can spread out and relax easily. The dock was great and the beach you get at low tide was a favorite for me and my son. I hope to get to come back to this house one day for another stay! The host was also great with communication!

Beautiful comfortable home

My husband and I fell in love with this home we didn’t stay long enough so we will be staying again in the near future our host Scott was awesome Everything we needed was there the home is very roomy for my family and friends 9 of us, the yard is beautiful, right on the water I just can’t wait to stay there again, the location is great near all restaurants and Walmart, my friends are still talking about this house as well… Scott thank you for your generosity you’re a great host

Enjoyed the river view

We enjoyed our time and especially liked the river view. Great sunrises which we enjoyed since we were up early with a baby anyways. Old house but has some updates and character. The mattresses gave some of my family back trouble and would highly recommend new ones. Also, curtains would be nice for the windows. I’m aware that pets are allowed at this place but better cleaning afterwards would be nice. The couch in the sitting area by the kitchen was covered in it! There was also still a lot on the floor.

Piece of Paradise
