Contemporary home within beachfront gated community

Villa Ethir is a contemporal home built on the point between the estuaries of Playa Tamarindo and Playa Langosta.
The noun 'ethir' derives from old Sindarin and means 'mouth of a river'.

Punta San Fransisco - as locals call it - is situated on a rock that overviews Tamarindo beach on the right and has Langosta beach to your left. You have direct beach access in front of the villa to both playa Tamarindo and playa Langosta,which is the more upper end part of Tamarindo. *******************************************************For upcoming season : until end of Feb 2026 a 20% discount has been applied to your nightly price as we have some construction going on in the neighbourhood until mid March. We want to apologise in advance for this inconvenience by offering you this extra discount on top of weekly/monthly discounts.
We also are including day passes at a Beach Resort nearby the villa to make sure you are at no point bothered by construction works.

This amazing property was exactly as described. Safely ensconced in a quiet gated community, perfectly situated for access to town, and steps from a beautiful beach. The property was the perfect layout for our family with three adult children. The casitas gave everyone their own space when needed but beautiful gathering space in the main house living room and kitchen and the outdoor dining area and pool. Our host Bert was fantastic, providing us with great restaurant and sightseeing recommendations and checking in periodically. Bladimir came by each day to spruce up the garden and clean the pool. Juanita did a mid-week clean and took care of some of our laundry. And Josue, the property manager, popped in with supply refills. This is a finely honed team who made our Costa Rica experience memorable for all the right reasons.

Quiet retreat in walking distance to downtown Tamarindo

This small compound with pool, situated in a safe gated community on the edge of Tamarindo and a 2 minute walk to beaches, is an ideal getaway for a family with teenagers. We surfed, swam, and did day trips to local sites. The owner and property manager were terrific and responsive to all needs. A perfect vacation.

Amazing property!

We loved every minute at the villa! Ideally located, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The pool area was amazing, peaceful and private. The property manager couldn’t have been more helpful. We will be back!

Private Retreat

This house is close enough to walk to the center of Tamarindo, but, far enough away to be quiet. The beach access to 2 amazing beaches is truly steps away from the house. We loved it here... Joah is such a wonderful property manager, and the breakfast provided by Juanita every morning was resort quality. We traveled with our 2 teenage children and the layout allowed them to feel independent, but, we still felt very safe. I highly recommend this property.

Stylish, impeccably situated house

This home was perfect for our group of 6 who ranged in ages from six to sixty. It has all you need for your stay in Guanacaste. Well appointed kitchen, a delightful small pool, congenial set up and all the systems worked really well. Juanita the housekeeper who can cook breakfasts for you is a delight and the property management team sought to be helpful at every turn helping with a New Year's dinner reservation, booking massages and a private chef for a couple evening meals. Most of all, it's hard to imagine a better place to root yourself if you are interested in exploring Costa Rica's gorgeous pacific coast. The house is a short walk from two very different beaches and dozens of others are less than an hour by car. Furthermore it's a good home base for adventures further afield as our group took trips to volcanos, waterfalls and to visit sloths--all day trips from this property. Pura VIda indeed.

Wonderful Home for a relaxing vacation

Everything from start to finish was wonderful. Joah made sure we were well taken care of and very attentive to all of our requests. My wife and I brought our two young kids (6&4), and this home was perfect for our month long getaway. We highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Magical Experience

The property is excellent! A chic-modern oasis surrounded by touches of jungle and a few minutes walk from two distinct beaches. In one direction, 10 minutes to Tamarindo restaurants, nightlife and all. In another, 3 minutes to an amazing bed and breakfast tucked away on the beach and another 10 to a river mouth and protected turtle sanctuary. The peaceful, well-maintained, and spacious property is a perfect tranquil pairing with an exciting day or evening in town. Joah the property manager was very attentive, amiable, and offered perfect insiders advice to elevate our stay to perfection. “Rainy Season” in August turned out to be just a few quick late afternoon showers in exchange for a week of not-too-busy beaches, bugless nights, and incredible sunsets. Can’t wait to return!

Perfect setup for our family

We have two adult daughters, one with a fiance, and the house was cozy but also spacious, with lots of privacy. We cooked in the modern kitchen, swam in the pool, walked on the beach, and listened to the beautiful parrots. Nice location close to town but not in it. And Sol is a terrific property manager!!

Wow--Amazing place! Great owners and manager too! We felt like the home was better than expected. Bert, Joah, Sol and Norlan were such a great team. Super communication and caring!
