  • Nestled in the Kiamichi Valley, surrounded by the rolling Potato Hills, National Forrest, and nearby Buffalo Mountain where hang gliders can enjoy the scenery from above, and perhaps less adventurous visitors can roam this historic home of the Choctaws. This restored rock cottage is centrally located to The Talimena Trail, many area lakes, festivals, restaurants, and shopping. The one-bedroom cottage, decorated with antiques and a nature theme, can sleep 4 using the pull out queen-sized sofa bed that has a custom mattress and memory foam topper. The luxury bath has a whirlpool tub and a rain shower, is fitted with plush towels, and decadent fixtures. The cottage includes a washer and dryer, full kitchen with all amenities needed for cooking, DISH TV in the living and bedroom, wireless internet, and a beautiful back deck with hot tub, an electric grill, and a privacy fence constructed of raw cut cedars. Your stay includes a small spring-fed fishing pond at the back of the property, just a short walk away. Bring your poles or borrow a couple of ours. the Gazebo contains porch swings benches and a chiminea. Wood is furnished.

The cottage was extremely cozy and peaceful. If you need to get away and unplug this is definitely the location for you. Plenty of space and amenities. I did not use the outdoor hot tub because of weather, but DID use the indoor jetted tub which was my main reason for booking this particular place. There was an initial issue with the hot water but the owners came out to remedy within a couple hours.Talihina is only a few minutes away for places to eat, local shopping and even hace a spa treatment and massage!

We loved the peace and quiet of the neighborhood and the coziness of the cabin, which was decorated with much care. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect stay

This is just what we wanted…quiet time away. Such a perfect little restored home…cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the private hot tub also. We will definitely stay again on our next trip if available.

Talahina Cottage

Very adorable place. It was clean and had all the things we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking necessities. The space was cozy. Wish we had time to use the hot tub. We will stay there if we visit Talahina again.

Relaxing quiet getaway

Last minute booking for Husband and I, we had a chance to get away for a couple of days and took advantage of it, very relaxing, well equipped, we had everything we possibly could need there. The house was beautifully updated, very relaxing with a wonderful hot tub, It was just what we needed.

Awesome little cabin

Very nice and clean. Dogs came over and barked at us, but they were friendly. No issues at all. Would definitely stay there again!

This was a very pleasant stay. It took a lot to finally get the WiFi working, but even then it was spotty and dropped a lot. Otherwise, very quaint and comfortable. The owners worked hard to make me feel welcome and it turned out to be a comfy place once I settled in. I’d gladly recommend them to anyone. It’s an older cabin with some quirks but again, the owners did a very nice job of making it comfortable and welcoming

Quiet cute cottage

The cottage was very cute. They did an excellent job of decorating for the effect. Everything was very clean and stocked with the essentials that we needed. The bed was super comfortable. The hosts were easy to reach when a question arose and took care of the issue immediately. Would highly recommend.

Peaceful cottage

From the first moment I arrived I felt a serene and peaceful presence. Jan was welcoming and so was Macaroni. I felt at home and had everything I needed. I was less than 5 minutes away from where I worked. Very comfortable bed. I loved the hot tub and jacuzzi batch tub. I will stay there again when I am in Talahina

Lovely hot tub & deck

The view from the front windows was beautiful. We really enjoyed the hot tub and new deck. It was nice that there was plenty of coffee, Dish, and new washer and dryer. Janet and Keith were very responsive and she was very helpful relating restaurant and shopping information.

Hot tub wouldn’t go above 96. With the chill that evening, it felt like bath water. I would hardly call the fence a privacy fence. And the owners live within 30 feet of the back patio. I assume they are the owners. The house looked like a junk/garage sale was about to take place. The worst part was the wasps coming in through the bathroom vent. We killed at least 5. The owners never responded to our text about WiFi.

Charming Little Cottage

We arrived late on a a Friday night as we were driving from Fort Worth after work. This cottage is in a very small town and there are no street lights so it was challenging finding the house even with directions. ( no fault of the host) That being said, this is a sweet little cottage for a quiet getaway. Since it was still hot during the day we didn’t sit outside on the deck. I think this would be beautiful in spring or fall. We drove the Talimena scenic byway & drove to Queen Whilhelmina Stare Park. It is beautiful there with many wildflowers Lunch there was delightful! The cottage had a well stocked kitchen w full size refrigerator. We brought food to take w us on our daytrip, which was very convenient.. we found the bed to be a little hard /firm. The air conditioning was great! It would be a great place to hang out w a good book on the deck after a scenic drive and lunch out & about. This is a restored vintage structure so it is a little quirky and will not be like staying in a modern, sanitized hotel. I would be happy to stay again if the host put a memory foam topper on the bed. A nice little place for a country getaway.

To begin, the property itself has a lot of potential. It is just not currently in any condition to take tenants. The sink in the kitchen does not work properly, and water went all over the floor from underneath the cabinet, so that is not usable. The hot water does not work. There has not been hot water during our stay. The biggest issue is that there are 3 pit bulls that are on the property. 2 are collared, but one is not. 1 is definitely not friendly and has been at the door barking and growling. We have had to wait in the truck to try to even get into the home on multiple occasions. The back patio has been unusable due to the dogs. This could be a great property, but it needs attention. We were looking for a place to rent consistently since we just bought property in town, but with the lack of security and safety with pit bulls being aggressive as well as the home itself needing work, this has been ‘less than positive.’ It is actually so bad we are leaving a night early.
