Clean, updated spot (a lot of places in Tahoe are old/outdated but not this one!) with great amenities like a spa, pool, tennis courts, snowpark during snow season, and restaurant/bar with happy hour steps away. Extra happy with the clear communication and loved our stay.

Poor experience overall

The location is great, Granlibakken is great, but I would not recommend staying here because of the Vacasa management. Other reviewers are correct, the bed is pretty terrible. Also the shower head is not good. We had bats in the unit the second night that I had to chase out the upstairs door. We consulted our local health department and were recommended the rabies vaccinations. I left a personal message to the property that seems to be lost in their system. I tried reaching out to VRBO who passed me to Vacasa. From there it took several days for them to tell me that a property manager had apparently spoken to me and was told by me to not worry because there were no bats in the unit. I don’t know if their wires are crossed and there was a different guest. But at this point Vacasa refuses to follow up.

DO NOT BOOK HERE.Vacasa is a nightmare to deal with. I have spoken to FOUR different people via their chat, and one on the phone, over the span of TWO WEEKS, all without a resolution. Before booking, I specifically sent to a message to ask about the condition of the bed after reading negative reviews that it was worn out and slumped in the middle. “Claire A.” assured me that it had since been replaced. This was not true. Awful condition - completely caved in. Restless nights. Terrible combo for 2 people with back issues. We would NOT have booked here if we knew this was the case.Apartment was flat out NOT vacuumed when we arrived. Pine needles on the carpet, seeds on the kitchen floor, and debris next to the bed. I informed them of this immediately when I received the automated text survey about the cleanliness of the condo but was later accused that I didn’t bring these issues up until after my stay? No, that’s how long the back & forth has continued via new-person-every-time on the chat. And now they aren’t believing me after “investigating” ??? Dish washer pods were NOT provided, resulting in hand washing with dish soap on vacation. Not ideal. And Vacasa staff wants to argue with me about whether or not this was true. I cannot prove that they weren’t provided. Perhaps I used them and then lied about it? Because that would make sense? And be worth my time? Ridiculous. Just a side note: Like some other reviews state, place is incredibly dark and not at all sunny at

We found this place at short notice because it was close to the wedding venue. Confortable and quiet! The bed was very uncomfortable but the rest of the place was great!

Wonderful setting and great condo! Lodge feel with modern updates. Very efficient kitchen, great tv and comfortable bed. Will come back in any season! Hotel staff very welcoming and helpful!

This is my second review as Vacasa asked for one as well. This place presents as a bright and airy space.it is dark and the shade in the living room is broken so we had to manually rig it up. The bed is STILL not fixed! Shane on the owners for not listening to the multiple reviews. It pushes you in the middle and needs to be replaced. Do NOT rent here til they do. Coffee table is broken. Replace if your knock it tips, upsetting anything on it. the screws are loose and we don’t travel with an Allen wrench. This is a loft with the bathroom up the stairs. It is hot up there! Thank you for the fan. The hot tub is nice as is the heated pool. Restaurant is good and staff at main lodge are nice. Coin operated washer and dryer at main lodge. Until the owners pay a bit of attention to this unit. Do NOT rent

The reviews pretty much sum it all up. The bed was fine though. However, we did lose power for about three hours and then lost it again at 2. We didn’t get offered anything nor was there any communication. We had no heater in 20 weather, unsure if we would have one all night. The host doesn’t communicate fast at all which was a downside. Overall the stay was definitely okay. Some weird things we noticed were that they only provided one kitchen towel as well as one roll of toilet paper. This isn’t very accommodating for stays more than one day. I will say they cleared the snow fast and we had an easy path to our car.

Overall great stay, but small areas for improvement

This property was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. However, it was a shame that the property advertised a pool and hot tub and didn't offer towels to use the amenities. We contacted the property manager (vacasa) and they were not very helpful so we didn't use the facilities in the end.

Needs replacement

This is a beautiful area of Lake Tahoe. The problem with this unit was the terrible mattress on the bed and also lack of any electrical outlets and lights in the loft area. A power strip would be very useful. Also both deck areas were useless. Both decks were dirty, had no furniture, which was a shame because the weather was beautiful while we were there.

Get a new mattress!!

After reading a review from March I contacted the management’s with my concern about the mattress. I was assured the matter had been taken care of. It was not! The mattress sunk in the middle and got worse every night. This is a 2-story unit with steep stairs. If you want to go up or down the stairs at night be sure you have your phone’s flashlight as you will need it! And don’t plan on leaving your suitcase open, if there is even room to open it. Management should remove the desk that is probably never used to make more usable space. Mold in the shower but other than that it was very clean and well equipped. There is a lovely balcony/deck off the living room. It would have been a nice place to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon glass of wine but there are no chairs. With a new mattress and attention to easily fixable items this would have been a 5 star review! I sincerely hopes the management takes this review seriously for the sake of future guests.

Beautiful stay in close proximity to grenlibaken ski hill. We have a severe food allergy and needed a well-supplied and clean kitchen and this condo was perfect. Thank you so much for keeping your place in such excellent condition.

Horrible check-in experience and nobody cared or reached out to help

Check-in process was terrible. When we reached out 5 times over 2 1/2 hours, we were promised a phone call back multiple times that never happened. Everyone was polite but no one helped. Not the owner. Not Vacasa. Nobody seemed to care. We were stuck in the foyer waiting to hear back for more than 2 hours and we kept getting promises that someone would help us but we never got anybody to call us or proactively help us in any way. The hotel where this is at is actually very nice but I wouldn't stay in this place. They don't seem to care. Lots of other things need fixing in the unit. The furniture is all old and that's not terrible because we're used to that. But one thing to warn you about is the coffee table is topsy-turvy and should be replaced. If you put anything on it it is liable to tip over and spill on the ground so be careful. The sitting chair in the living area is also topsy-turvy and frankly I would never sit in it because it doesn't feel safe. The couch and pillows are fine. The bed upstairs is old but we found it okay. Others have complained that it is sort of dipped in the middle and we saw that but It didn't really affect our sleep and we kind of like each other so having us roll towards each other isn't a terrible thing. Other things: besides having the owner and vacasa not really caring about our experience, we kept getting texts asking how our stay was and when we described what was actually happening they apologized but no one helped us. Stay away.

A perfect place for 2 people

Great property and easy check in process. Everything was clean and nice. We recommend bringing your own shampoo/conditioner/bodywash. It was provided, but not the best. We loved having a gas fireplace and the condo heated quickly. The bed was nice but the owners might want to check why it's sinking a little in the middle. It might just be the bedframe. We only stayed 2 nights so we didn't really use the kitchen l, but everything was spotless! We could not find the "check out" process so we left the keys in the lockbox where we picked them up. Highly recommend this home!
