Amazing outdoor space!

Loved the stay. The amount of area and water frontage is absolutely amazing. The house is a tad small but we didn’t spend a whole lot of time inside. The kayaks were a wonderful addition. Will stay again!

Another great stay

This is our 2nd time staying at this property, and it has yet to let us down. The location is great for kids being a swimmable channel with very little boat traffic. Kids loved the kayaks, parents loved the large deck to watch the kids swim and play. The place was clean and ready on time. I'm sure we'll be back again in the future!

Lake Wauwausee

The property was great!!! So quiet and peaceful. House was so clean had comfortable beds and furnishing. Nice grill, firewood provided, kayaks,paddle board. Owner John was very helpful got option day we left to even stay longer than 10:00 am since they were coming later to clean.close to Shipshewana and nice beach in town. All kinds food places to eat . I’d give it 5 stars

Quaint small cottage stay

We missed some things that we assumed would have been included like WiFi, a tv and a hair dryer. Also need to upgrade and organize cooking utensils and small appliances. Cute cottage that was fairly clean with comfortable bedding Also Main bathroom is very small. Great location and outdoor space was nice

Pure Paradise

Upon arrival the house was smaller than expected but after we checked in it was perfect . Everything worked as it should and there were no issues the whole time we were there . The owner supplied free firewood for the late nights outside while the deck at the waterfront and large docking area for the boats was appreciated much as well . Property manager was so easy and nice to work with and was very useful when getting area information . Thank you much for a great family made memory , we will be back .

Cute Cottage

A cute little cottage located on a quiet channel right off Lake Wawasee. This was a great destination to unwind and relax. We enjoyed to spacious deck and yard. The cottage is adequately appointed with comfortable beds and window A/C. There is no TV or Wifi, but that was no problem for us as we passed the day away watching the lake and exploring the area. A great escape!

This was a great place to stay at Wawasee! The host was great with communication. The place was perfect and we hope to return next year. It has the best deck on the water and the house is cozy even when it rained. Dock was perfect for the boats and the neighbors were so welcoming

Lake Weekend

Location on lake is great but a little farther from Syracuse than we would have prefered. The water pump broke, but owner was quick to get someone over to repair. Biggest dislike was there was no TV or internet.

Our family of 5 stayed at this sweet little lake house and it was exactly what we were looking for- cozy, quiet, secluded and the perfect place for our staycation. I wouldn’t recommend 2 families staying together or a large group, it was the perfect size for our family. The loft area was a great play area for the kids because the mattresses were not very comfortable to sleep on (It’s probably impossible to fit a luxurious mattress up there) and it’s easy to hit your head on the ceiling after waking up. The mattresses in the bedrooms were a little short, but it didn’t bother us, it’s a smaller home and not easy to get big beds in the space. I was curious about this home after looking at pictures and it seemed to be surrounded by big beautiful new lake houses, but I promise, this cozy little place has the best deck in the area. We sat on the deck with our feet in the water while the kids swam in life jackets in front of us. So relaxing and the view was heavenly! The paddle boat was a lot of fun, too! We rented a pontoon boat from the tippecanoe boat company and they delivered the boat to lake Wawasee where we parked it at this lake house’s deck for a couple of days, It was perfect. We used the fire pit once and wood was provided. We used the grill everyday, one side of the grill didn’t cook the meat, but the other side was fine. The house was very clean and we enjoyed the personal touches in the house. The rooms do get warm at night when sleeping. I wish there was a recycling bin that we could have used and containers to store food in since we cook a lot and there was no Tupperware to store leftovers. Overall, the place was amazing and we’d stay again!

Loved this place

This house was perfect for the 8 of us. The house is very small but laid out nicely, which made it feel bigger. The dock was great for our boat and we used the fire pit every night. The kayaks were a great bonus. Will stay here again!

Great for a small group!

I’m going to begin with the negatives because there are some notable things on the listing that can greatly impact your trip - there is not a full-size pull out sleeper sofa in the living room. They are recliners and nobody in my family would appreciate being placed on a recliner as a place to sleep. We couldn’t get the grill to light without an electrical engineer tinkering with it and even then, couldn’t keep it lit. The loft really is best for small kids. The stairway to get up & down is very narrow and the ceiling is very low. There is a queen and a twin size bed up there but half of the queen mattress is pushed against the wall where the ceiling is coming down so anybody sleeping there would barely have room to turn. Like one review mentioned - there is a small bedroom and another very small bedroom. The very small bedroom does have a dresser but no closet and there is room to step in the room and another step you’re on the bed. We had 1 adult sleeping in there and she had no complaints. The other bedroom has a closet and plenty of room to move around in. I’m not sure how other people sleep but I would actually list this house as able to sleep 2 adults and 2 kids, We’re a family of tall people so we cannot get 2 adults in a full size bed. We had 3 adults & 1 kid with 1 adult sleeping in the loft with the kid. To remain comfortable, we could not have had anymore people. A blow up mattress would fit in the family room as well. All of that being said above - we had a GREAT time!!! This house was all we needed for a wonderfully relaxing time on the lake. The house had most everything we needed, the location is fantastic and the layout of the whole property gave us so many options! The deck space provided is the opportunity to hang out all day while giving plenty of sun for those who wanted it and plenty of shade for those who wanted it (at the same time). We had yard space to play games and It’s very easy to swim right off the deck and very easy to get out of the water. The paddle boat and kayaks provided even more fun! We never were inside very much, cooked in there but ate outside. There are plenty of chairs outside. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Great waterfront getaway!

Great property for a girls trip or small family vacation. The deck was perfect, kayaks for everyone, and quiet neighborhood. We rented a boat and parked at the dock. Will definitely go back!

A fun weekend with the guys

I was getting married this weekend and picked this house for it's proximity to our venue and also the guest count. We all enjoyed the cabin and hanging out on the dock and we grilled outside too. A great spot to enjoy a retreat with friends and enjoy the lake and a fun cabin.

Amazing house with great view!

I want to start off by saying we rent houses on Lake Wawasee several times a year and this was the best experience we have had. The home is smaller but the way it's set up gives you lots of room. The deck was my family's favorite place to be when we weren't on the sand bar. Can't wait to stay there again!

Cozy, relaxing very peaceful. Not noisy like some lake cottages.

Very comfortable, had most everything you would need. No wi fi but was nice to get away from the electronics. The only down side was not enough light at night when playing cards or board games. Over all great time give it a try.

Cozy lake cottage

This is a small, older lake cottage with a very nice recent remodel. One bedroom is small, the other one is tiny. The bathroom is tiny too. And even little kids won't be able to stand up in the loft. But they'll have fun climbing up there and looking through the bars. If you're OK with small, you should like this place. It has a nice deck that sticks out into the channel, and even though it's not right on the lake, it's a pleasant place to sit if the weather's nice. I would stay here again.

Really good spot, nice new grill and all appliances, and plumbing worked well. Nice size yard we used to park boat trailer ....good shade and sun available in back yard. Just couldn't rate it 5 star due to bedrooms were a little hot at night even leaving doors open for living room AC....and would have liked a TV for evening news and to relax. I feel we would go back again.
