Enjoy a day out on the heritage railway’s full-size steam train from Swanage centre to Corfe Castle (5 miles), where you might hop off and wander the National Trust’s 1000-year-old romantic ruins. Spend hours on Swanage Beach, which is less than 200 metres from your door, or travel over to Studland Bay (3 miles) for vast beaches and heathland. Dorset’s must-visit landmarks, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, are both within 18 miles.
