Apartamento en el segundo piso con gran terraza que da al este. Duerme hasta 3. Considerará estancias semanales o cortas durante cualquier temporada. Verano 3 noches mínimo. Se permiten estancias cortas durante las principales fechas de verano, sin embargo, no se cobrarán depósitos por reservas que sumen menos de 7 noches en línea hasta que Visit Up North confirme la reserva el siguiente d��a hábil. Host was accommodating due to changes we had to make because of winter weather. Upper cottage has beautiful views, great location and perfect for two people. Would recommend and stay again!

Nice location in Sutton’s Bay but very dated

Location could not be beat - right behind library, beach & marina! Easy check in & info from manager made locating it easy. Short walk to shops, restaurants & right on the beautiful Tart trail for bike riding!But the apartment is pretty dated: rusty porch furniture, squidgy carpet, hard water stained bathroom & really gives the feeling of staying in someone else’s home - especially as the stairs to main floor are semi-open with a doggy gate & fake plant sitting on the stairwell & a hollow core door added halfway down that lets all noise from downstairs float up…We were happy for the spot on the Leelenau peninsula that we love & visit often, but will be looking to stay somewhere else in the future.

Wonderful location.

Clean. Spitting distance to shops, restaurants, beach and marina. Downside-upper apartment not for people who have trouble managing stairs, or climbing into a high bed.

Location almost perfect

It was very enjoyable until it got warm. No air conditioning and did not cool down enough for a restful nights sleep. Also, close to main street with much traffic in the mornings. And very minimal on supplies provided.

Fall Frenzy

We booked our stay because of the Leland Fall Frenzy. Our stay in Suttons Bay was 100 times better than anything Leland had to offer. Suttons Bay was clean, sales staff at the stores were friends and welcoming, the bartenders and wait staff were folks you want to be friends with. Food was delicious.

Suttons Bay Surprise

We were surprised at how spacious our apartment was. We were very comfortable; the bed was comfortable, loved the rockers and bathroom was spacious. We even had a view of Suttons Bay and watched an amazing sunrise one morning. The location was even better than we thought. We lived our stay. (Two things I will note for future guests; the bed is very high off the ground and you do access the apartment up the stairs from the outside.)

Great Location, Some Drawbacks

Fantastic location in the heart of Sutton’s Bay. Every restaurant is within walking distance, less one sandwich shop. Ditto the shopping, beach, marina, library, movie theater, coffee shops, book store, bakery, farmer’s market, TART (biking/walking) trail access, ice cream…Nearby, although better by vehicle (or bike), is Hansen’s - a great little grocery store, HopLot Brewing, a laundromat, and etc.! SB is a great little village with much to offer and the Legal Beagle is situated in the heart of it all. The “drawbacks”, and mostly contingent upon timing, would be neighbors. The downstairs neighbors had 3 young boys; the neighboring restaurant, North Country, featured musicians a couple of nights that ran a little late. Parking can be tight, although on-street parking is (mostly) available, as is parking behind the building. The deck furniture wasn’t overly-inviting with some lichen/moss growing on it. Also, and my own fault, was the lack of appreciating entry was by way of stairs, only, as the unit was on the second floor. Those repping the property (UpNorth Vaca Rentals) were very proactive initiating each step of the rental, check-in, and check-out process; ditto the cleaning lady, Karen, who was most kind and conscientious when we stumbled upon her.

Cool Location - Close to Coffee

Nice, clean, roomy spot for a couple that wants a view of the beach. The backside/bedroom is closer to the main drag but it wasn't noisy at all. Suttons Bay is a nice/close alternative to the commotion of TC.

Upper Cottage

We had a very nice stay. The heating problem was corrected promptly by Up North management. The unit does need some minor touchup inside and the grounds needed trimming in general. Parking was fine but the entrance to the grounds from the public parking should be upgraded. As an older couple it was a bit tricky to get to the car in the public parking behind the property. The stairs leading up to the unit was a bit narrow and difficult to get luggage up there. Also none if the stairs up to the had no "traction strips" for safety. When dry this is not a problem but when wet we had to be extra careful not to slip on the stairs when heading down. The bed was on a very high frame making it difficult for us to get into. It needs a small stool to step up on to get into the bed. Even at 6' tall I had some trouble to get in and my much shorter wife had even more difficulty.

Not a great experience

First impression was not good- deck furniture dirty with mold/moss growing. Rust spots on door and peeling paint on trim. Inside, first look OK. View of bay and comfortable furniture. After visiting town we came back to relax. Found kitchen table dirty and chairs covered with crumbs when we went to use them. Bathroom large but dated. Shower is very dark. Worst came when going to get in bed. Sheets had hair and sand; most definitely had not been changed after last guests. Contacted the management company who did remedy the bed situation the next day. Unit has potential but would not book again

Another Fun Year

This is out second time staying at this location. Very conviently located near the downtown area and Marina. Our only complaint was the difficluty trying to get the AC set to a comfortable range. I did contact the Property Manager about the problem. Otherwise, a great place to stay.

Birthday getaway

Quick trip to wine country on my birthday with my wife and daughter before she starts her new career. Had a great time. Location was awesome and the space was very roomy and clean! Will definitely be back!

Little gem!

Pics cannot give you the charming vibe this rental possesses. The east wall was full glass with slider in center accessing the deck. This let in gorgeous light and views of bay. Full kitchen is open to living area made space roomy. Read so negative reviews about sofa, it must have been replaced with a newer sofa as it was in great condition and comfortable to sit on. Bed was comfy. Large closet. This is located on the main street but did not notice any traffic noice. Easy walking distance to beach behind rental, and to the shops and restaurants in Sutton’s Bay. Only negative I would mention is the patio chairs on the deck had mold and grime. I tried wiping one down so I could sit but was still concerned about staining my cloths. It was early in the season, so perhaps owners had not given this attention yet. We definitely plan to stay here again, only longer!

The condo is exactly as described. The location couldn’t have been better. You can walk everywhere you want to go in Sutton’s Bay or ride your bike.

Little Legal Beagle Upper Cottage

We loved this upper apartment. Very clean, great kitchen, lots of room. Perfect location for all you would want to do on Leelanau Penn. This unit advertised as having wifi. The wifi is in 1st floor, and doesn't extend upstairs. A wifi extender would be a great addition. Also, bedroom is located in front along M22, very noisy traffic starting at 5:30am. We really enjoyed cottage and Suttons Bay!
