Located in the desirable Floral Beach subdivision at Surfside Beach, this beautiful beach home provides the perfect location for your vacation getaway. “Cake by the Ocean” features the luxuries of a well stocked home plus a private pool and yard, outdoor shower, plentiful parking, and just 100 steps from the sand on beautiful Surfside Beach. You will also enjoy the convenience of a three block walk to many of the Surfside Beach eateries where you'll find Mexican, BBQ, seafood, pizza and burger restaurants.

Sit back on either of the oceanside balconies or by your private pool to savor stunning sunrises. The covered balconies are the perfect area to sit back and relax before or after an exciting day of beach or poolside fun.

You will have everything you need to make lasting memories at the beach! Boasting an open concept living area including comfortable seating, dining areas, and a fully equipped kitchen.

The main level features a full sized kitchen with plenty of dining and space, as well as a full bathroom and a bedroom featuring 2 full size beds. Enjoy the ocean view from the balcony off the living room!

The top floor features a master bedroom with a king bed and balcony access for a fantastic beach view. It also features 3 more full size bedrooms each with their own queen bed.

“Cake by the Ocean” offers the convenience of a short drive to all the attractions that Myrtle Beach has to offer while still providing the quiet family environment that Surfside Beach is famous for. Book today and soon you can enjoy a walk on the beach or just relax by your private pool!

Other amenities: Wi-Fi, Roku streaming on all six TVs, private pool and outdoor shower, gas grill, first and second floor ocean side balconies, central A/C, washer/dryer.


Southern Coast Vacations has a complete reservations staff that is well versed in all aspects of each of our rentals homes, and the surrounding areas. They work with you during the booking process, before your arrival for additional questions and information, and our staff is available to you 24/7. If at any time you are in need, we are able to assist!

Guests are supplied with a starter set of paper products. Each rental will have 1 roll of toilet tissue per bathroom and 1 paper towel roll in the kitchen. Please come prepared with your own soaps or other needed toiletries such as dish detergent or laundry detergent. Please bring any blankets or towels you plan on using outside (pool or beach).

This was the perfect house for us. The layout was open and spacious. It was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. The views from both balconies were incredible. The carport was very large and made it extremely easy to pack and unpack. We felt like we were directly on the ocean and could see the waves from both balconies. The kitchen was perfect for cooking meals for large families. The pool was perfect size and was larger than the picture shows, we played corn hole in the plush grass. The beach was a few steps away and we walked everywhere, plenty of restaurants and ice cream parlors. The grocery store was just two miles away. It was the perfect place and honestly we were blown away by how convenient everything was. We are so happy we chose cake on the ocean! We cannot recommend it enough!!

Perfect location for beach access and no obstruction of beach view, restaurants are right up the street, the whole house is set up very nice, all appliances were very nice, would definitely stay here again!

Best find in 20 years!

This property was so clean and well maintained. Pool was well cared for. The location is perfect for whatever drew you to the area. As a group of 14 ranging in age from 2-58 we agreed unanimously. This is the best property we’ve stayed in over our 20 year vacation span!

Nice seating for meals. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Watched people park for beach, when all we had to do was walk over when we wanted. Nice view from the balconies, since there is no house right in front. Pool was refreshing. (could be a little larger since yard is just wasted space). Would stay there again.

Great Place and Location

In town for Ripken Experience and stayed with one other family. 9 of us stayed very comfortably. Nice view of ocean and very close to beautiful public beach access. We spent a lot of time at the Ocean and it was nice to have the house close by. Pool is small but nice have after a long day in Ocean. Grill is a little outdated is about the only negative but overall a great place to stay.

The good, the bad, and the ugly!

The Good: House was well appointed and clean. Plenty of bath towels and sheets available. Location, perfect. View, stellar. The Bad: Difficult entry upon arrival. Key pad did not work (as I was instructed prior to my arrival by three different rental company personnel that the key pad was the only entry needed). Had to go to the rental company office to get key from drop box after repeated attempts to enter using door key pad. BTW, Southern Coast Vacation rental office is never open in the Surfside Beach area. This 5 bedroom house was given ONE key for 6 adults! There were no pot holders in kitchen, and the slat blinds in primary bedroom were broken. The UGLY: Southern Coast Vacation rental company has horrible customer service. The dryer in the house would not dry the clothes. I called the 'Maintenance department both Tuesday and Wednesday, left a detailed message and NEVER received a call back. Thursday, I call the vacation rental office, explained my reason for call and was told the Maintenance department could not handle this type of service call. This particular issue would have to be vetted out to vendors, and that no vendor was available until MONDAY (we checked out on Saturday). I also learned the OWNER and vacation rental office were aware of the maintenance issue on the day we checked IN, but did not put a work order or try to locate a vendor to have the issue resolved during our stay. I was also told by someone in the vacation rental office on Thursday, that 'Patrick' of the Vacation department would call me to offer a partial refund due to the inconvenience. NEVER heard from Patrick either.. We travel to Myrtle Beach yearly for family vacations. I will NEVER rent another property if Southern Coast Vacations is the rental company. Very disappointed, Sherry Tinsley from Mechanicsville, Va.

Beautiful home in a great location

House was perfect in size and location. The pool was perfect for the kids when needed. Wish check in was a little earlier due to travel distance with kids. The queen beds are very saggy and the older couples had a hard time not rolling into each other. I did need to contact rental agency regarding “palmetto bugs” that take over the outside decks and pool area at night.

Spacious, yet comfortable.

We enjoyed having enough bedrooms and bathrooms to comfortably accommodate our family. The living area was spacious, and also felt cozy. There was plenty of dining space, but the living room could use some extra furniture. The pool was an added bonus for our grandchildren, and the upstairs laundry was a plus. All in all, this was a great property!

Nice layout in good location.

House is 3 blocks from surfside pier/restaurant area with side walk, making it easy to go out for lunch/dinner/drinks without having to drive. Good view of ocean from first level with great view from the second level off the master. Kitchen/den is good size and we had enough seats for 14 family members eating dinner. Had 11 staying in house and it was comfortable. We could get 4 cars in the bottom with one at the back in a grass area next to fence. There are a few grass spots back there for parking. 5 cars can fit in bottom if don’t have larger cars. Also have the paid parking next to house if have more people visiting. Pool is small but fun to hang out in after day on beach. There are 4 chairs by pool and several lounge type chairs too. Gets shady in back in afternoon. Shower downstairs is nice to wash off before going upstairs. Also have a hose. Shower does not have a door. Kitchen is pretty well stocked with plates and glasses/cups. Beach is a short minutes walk from the back gate. There are also public bathrooms at the public parking lot. Southern Coast property folks are very nice and responsive. Just leave message and they get back quickly.

Family Memories on the beach

Beautiful house with lots of room for 7 of us. Short walk to the beach and was able to hear the waves from the house. The pool was a little cloudy and water was not circulating on day we checked in, but I called the next day and they had someone out to work on it the same day. Pool was clear for rest of our stay. Would stay here again.

Wonderful house

The house was spotless and definitely has a ton of room. It’s very close to the beach as well. With five kids with us it was super easy to get to the beach and come back for lunch etc. I definitely recommend this place for families!
