"Best place to stay in Michigan city"

"The good: Has a pool and hot tub, which was nice for the kids. The staff is accommodating. The breakfast was acceptable. The bad: Hallways did not smell nice. Room was damp and had a musty smell. AC did not work well. Fridge/freezer was off when we got there, freezer was defrosted and full of water, which I had to bail out with the ice bucket and dry with a bathroom towel. Bathroom sink was minuscule and the wood was rotting underneath. Under and behind the bed was disgusting, full of dust...

"Disgusting property. We had a bag of dirty towels in our room. Barely any water out of the shower head/ only warm water no hot! Our door barely opened and closed without throwing body into it. Staff was absolutely rude as they get. We told them about our room and did not apologize for how disgusting it was. Parking lot was full of trash. 0/10 would never stay here."

"97 degrees outside. The A/C in my room did not work properly. Sweating all night as it would not cool my room. All I got at the front desk the next morning was, “Sorry.” Will find a different place to stay on my trip out west next summer! :("

"Clean room"

"We really enjoyed our stay! It was clean and the staff was very friendly. We traveled with our 2 dogs and there is a large lawn for them to stretch their legs. My only very minor complaints: the ice maker on our floor wasn’t working properly, and our bathroom sink drain was clogged and drained very slowly. I would recommend this hotel to other travelers."

"We were assigned Room 101. Unfortunately, it was not clean. We found several cigarette butts under the bed, which was especially concerning since we were traveling with our toddler. We had expected a clean, non-smoking room. On a positive note, the management was friendly and helpful, but the cleanliness of the room was disappointing."

"Good waterfront rental. I mistakenly thought it was located on Lake Michigan. It is NOT located on Lake Michigan. It’s located next to a strip mall which is convenient with a Walgreens, Aldi’s and Jewel grocery store within a few blocks of the motel. Lake Chesterton is located behind the motel with a nice view. You can feed geese and turtles from your patio that’s suspended over the water. Our room had a hot tub, which was a nice perk. Friendly staff. Lake Michigan rentals are difficult to find,...

"Breakfast was barely average , don't get stuck on second floor and traffic is loud from freeway."

"The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. The owners (?) had a very thick Indian accent which made communication nearly impossible especially since I have some hearing loss. The hotel was okay for my husband and I but I can not recommend it for families."
