Offering a true beachside experience highlighted by the delightful touches of the owner with a flair for the "joie de vivre", the cottage blends perfectly with the relaxing location, a few minutes walk to the Stinson Beach.

Conveniently situated at Calle de Occidente, this lovely 1BR cottage is designed for a comfortable stay with all the necessary amenities and an awesome outdoors area.
A bit of whimsy and lighthearted, with warm touches that reinforce a vacation beach getaway.

￭ Quirky interior and wood accents give the property a delightful cottage feel, captivating a very relaxing vibe. The unpretentious and practical set up gives an extra charm to the place that can perfectly accommodate 3 people.

Cottage was not cleaned before our check-in time and used towels and linens were piled on kitchen floor. We had to wait two hours to check in after our check-in time. Noticed there were no coffee filters and no designated firewood. I could not operate the tv but that was not necessary for us. Everything else was good.

Responsive host, cute accommodations in a great location, the cottage was well equipped and cozy. We did struggle with using the WiFi--my husband was trying to work and got dropped frequently and it could not accommodate more than one device. Other than that we were super pleased!

This is a great location being a very short walk to the beach. It’s also walking distance to town. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to cook at ‘home’ and the bed was very comfortable. Check in and check out were very easy.I would recommend this as a nice getaway!

Beautiful house with everything we needed. Small touches and attention to detail are evident throughout- plenty of outlets, hooks, and a teapot! Well equipped cookware. So nice to be able to be on beach. Felt like home but better…vacation! We ate at Parkside cafe and Breakers. Both excellent and super close. We plan to come back.

Overall, it was a great stay! The location is fantastic. A few small suggestions that could make it even better: adding outdoor lighting in the back for nighttime use, some umbrellas and maybe a table for outdoor dining, and more towels would be helpful. The Wi-Fi could be improved, and a few updated photos might better reflect the space. Thanks for the great stay!

Amazing location and a wonderful cottage with a delightful yard. So grateful for such a dog friendly and beautiful spot to escape to, steps from the beach. We walked to the beach 5 times each day. Love that it’s located so close to the dog friendly part of Stinson.
My lil dog named Mouse Mouse 🐭 Such a coincidence that we stayed at the casita named mouse hole ☺️

The Mouse Hole is such a inviting beach cottage for a getaway and the fenced backyard with outdoor seating was a bonus since we had our toy poodles with us. The ocean is just a few minute's walk away and this part of the beach is dog friendly.Last year, we stayed at Casita Azul, the smaller adjoining property, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at either one again. Cute cottage close to the beach

This cozy house has everything needed for a relaxing few nights at the beach. It is a 3 minute walk to the waves and an uncrowded beach. The funky town of Bolinas is a short scenic drive along the lagoon.

Perfect space for me and my pup!!

This property is so adorable. Has everything you need- clean, well taken care of, nice yard, hose for showering off the pup after a day in the sand. I had to work remotely and was concerned about the internet but it was not a problem at all. This is my second time renting this house and I will be back !

Birthday tradition!

This is the perfect little house for two! Love the living space, shower with skylight, cozy bedroom. Outdoor shower is a bonus. Sheltered deck is great to get out of the wind.

Issues

I didn't realize that there was another rental on the same property and it was just too close. The other renters sat outside right next to the fence the majority of the time and talked nonstop. So privacy and quiet was non-existent.It was also very close to the main road so very noisy in the mornings.It was fine but I would not stay there again.

Charming coastal cottage

This property is so cute, and the proximity to the beach is wonderful! We found everything we needed to cook meals, and the space heater warmed the cottage very quickly. It is small, but the backyard space made it feel larger. We enjoyed our stay!

Great location

If you are looking for some beach time - this is the place. Great access to the beach. If the evenings/nights are chilly there is only 1 space heater so use accordingly. The sofa bed is lumpy but serviceable. The TV is in the bedroom and we could not get it to work. The owner offered suggestions but they did not work. The cottage has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The back deck needs a little repair. The back yard is great for morning or evening gatherings. Great outside shower to rinse off the beach.

Casa Azul

The “Mouse Hole” was as advertised. Located near the beach, restaurants, and a grocery store, it's the perfect getaway! The house was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked. It's also close to Bolinas and hiking trails. We will stay here again!

Great beach access

Pros:-Excellent access to a great beach (Upton Beach).-Bed was comfortable, although seemed small for a queen.-Cottage was clean, but did have a musty smell.-Good communication.Cons:-Very cold with only space heaters provided, which we weren't comfortable running while we slept. One could only be plugged into a specific outlet and barely put out any heat. -Outside light does not work and it is VERY dark when arriving at night. Dangerous, especially those of us with mobility issues.-Most rentals provide coffee; we found a small baggie in the freezer. Would be a nice touch to have coffee and tea available.-Pictures of the backyard make it look like you're at the beach (sandy, clean, uncluttered). In reality, it is overgrown and cluttered. We expected to sit out there quite a bit of our time, but did not at all. Needs a good cleaning or update the pictures to reflect how it really looks.Overall, it's a decent place, so I'm giving it a good review, even though I don't know that I'd stay again.

Get Away House

A colorful cottage only a short block to the gorgeous beach. The house is very dog friendly with a charming enclosed back deck and yard. The bathroom and kitchen are modern and the rest of the house is informal with a very comfortable bedroom. The pull-out bed in the living room needs to be upgraded. Our stay would have been more successful if the weather hadn't been pouring rain.The manager was very friendly, helpful and available.

Birthday Getaway

Booked for 3 nights and ended up only staying for one. Upon arrival, the outdoor light was not on, making it hard to see. Once inside we were able to confirm the bulb was burnt out. The house was like an ice box and the only sources of heat were a fireplace and no firewood provided. That left us with an oil space heater that even at the highest setting barely emitted any heat and could only be plugged into one outlet. We located two additional space heaters which started to heat the place a little more but were not sufficient only to then trip the main breaker turning off the power to the entire house. Thankfully we were able to locate the main box outside of the home. Certainly not an ideal location/home during the winter months as clearly the home also is not well insulated. We had also requested for the sofa bed be made up for my mother and when we arrived it was not. Once the property manager got back to via text, he told me to buy firewood, and he would reimburse me. Unfortunately, the store was already closed (as most people who are familiar with Stinson know). He also told me to make the bed up with spare sheets. Unfortunately, there were no pillowcases. The mattress was squeaky and uncomfortable, and the sheets had stains all over them. The kitchen was dirty, the refrigerator and freezer smelled old and musty. The home itself smelt old and musty. A single night’s stay and less than 24 hours ended up costing us over 600. I would not stay here again nor recommend it.

Great proximity to the beach

Cute and quaint beach house ideal for enjoying during the warm weather seasons as it is the perfect distance from the sand. Unfortunately the rain prevented us from spending much time at the beach. We chose the wrong time of year to stay somewhere like this as we didn’t get to fully enjoy the amenities like the cozy patio or nearby beach..
