  • Windy Knoll invites you to come and relax and enjoy the stunning views of the Afton Mountain greenery. Large A-Frame windows allow the sunlight to come through so you can enjoy the birds and nature all around. The property sits on 3.5 acres so it is very private. An expansive rolling lawn in the front to enjoy watching the deer in the morning while having a cup of coffee on the wide front porch. Forest areas on the side and back of the house. Enter the home in the front door and a warm and welcoming living room await you with a couch, 2 comfortable chairs, and a gas burning fireplace. Throw blankets and pillows for snuggling while watching a movie. TV and DVD player with a selection of movies to choose from. The dining room with bay seated window has a large table to seat 6 comfortably. The front porch also has a dining table. Spacious, well appointed kitchen with all you need for preparing delicious meals after a day of hiking the Appalachian trail or sightseeing. Dish-ware, flatware, sauce and saute pans. Wine glasses, coffee mugs, serving ware. Crock pot, blender, mixer. Coffee pot with coffee bean grinder (Starbucks coffee beans in the pantry). You will find a few condiments in the refrigerator, spices, herbs, oil in the pantry. The loft bedroom has a Queen bed and a Double Bed with a private bathroom and shower. The first floor bedroom has two twin beds and a separate bathroom with walk in shower. Loft area also has a desk with laptop and printer for your use. Back deck has a grill all ready for those barbecues!

LOVED this home. They just turned the front porch into a sun room, and I spent half my time there. Every need has been anticipated and provided for. Immaculate. Can't wait to go again soon. Definitely a 10/10.

Windy Knoll was perfect for our father/sons trip. The house was immaculate. It was nestled in a little hollow in a quiet neighborhood. It had all the comforts of home. We had planned to explore Shenandoah National Park on our motorcycles. We were able to tackle Skyline Drive, but Mother Nature had other ideas for the Blue Ridge Parkway. The house was in a perfect location to access both. Since our plans didn’t work out as expected the house was a great place to be away from home. We even had some 4 legged visitors in the front yard. Thank you Wendy and Mike for giving us a comfortable place to spend a few days. If we ever get the opportunity to get to the Blue Ridge Parkway again, we’ll be looking at your place first!

Very scenic mountain property. Wendy and Mike thought of every detail when furnishing their home and surroundings. Love all the windows. Very clean, very accommodating. Laundry facilities were a nice touch.would definitely stay again.1000% satisfied. Probably the nicest rental property we’ve ever stayed at.

Windy Knoll is always in excellent condition and it was so again for our most recent visit. The new porch is outstanding, adding additional glassed in square footage for guests to take advantage of. We will return soon.

This place is a wonderful get away location. We brought our newborn baby and the in laws to this place and it was the perfect relaxing experience. We will definitely be back and encourage others to give it a try! Wendy is also the best!

I can't say enough good things about this property. The home is absolutely beautiful and so welcoming. The host thought of everything and more to accommodate guests. My family was very comfortable and very happy! The views were spectacular and property so well maintained. The kitchen was fully stocked. We cooked our Thanksgiving meal here and we had everything we needed and more. The beds were super comfortable and the baths just perfect. Windy Knoll is truly a gem and by far the best VRBO we have rented and we will be back!

What a beautiful property!! Just a stone throw from great hiking trails, wineries, and breweries. Very private, except for the family of deer just off the front porch in the morning.

The location of this property is so beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. The only thing that would have helped were the bed sizes. A full bed is just to small abs the rooms could accommodate larger beds.

This is by far our favorite place to stay; I cannot say enough wonderful things about this beautiful rental! The owners were so easy to communicate with and they have thought of absolutely any and everything to make your stay perfect. The house is an absolute gem; decorated beautifully & so much room. The porch was our very favorite, we could have sat there forever watching the wildlife and beautiful mountain views. We were only a few miles from so many wineries and anything else we wanted to do. And it is pet friendly so we were able to bring our pup. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed to stay at Windy Knoll and we cannot wait to come back!

Beautiful home—-only topped by the property and views!! Could have stayed forever. House was very clean. Exceptionally well appointed. Everything you need. If I could give a rating of more than 5 stars I could. Best rental we have stayed at by far. Would absolutely stay here again!!

Windy Knoll

The house is super clean and well decorated . The grounds are lovely with deer and cottontails hanging out peacefully . It's very quiet with no noticeable ambient noise . On a clear night there is excellent start gazing . The only thing I would suggest is too provide maybe a memory foam mattress pad for optional use as the mattresses are very firm in good condition but very firm . Overall loved the stay .

Perfect getaway

This property had all the comforts of home. The owner provided lots of extra touches you don’t find in a rental. The beds were very comfortable! The view was amazing!! We spent so much time relaxing on the front porch watching deer and bunnies run by. We will definitely be back!!

Afton vacation

Beautiful clean home, and has everything you need. The deer and birds are lovely to watch from the porch. This was the best VRBO we have stayed in! If you want peace and quiet this is the place!
