On the day of our arrival, the owner had not sent the address or key information, I had to reach out to get the information. On our 2nd day at the unit, I realized the washer would fill with water but would not drain/spin. I messaged the owner through VRBO to let him know it was not working. His reply was to drop off some towels on our doorstep. I let him know I didn’t need more towels, but I wanted to use a washer/dryer during our stay, no response. I asked to use the W/D in the adjacent unit as it was unoccupied, no response. The towels he dropped off smelled like a dog, so I took the smelly towels and the ones I wrung out to a laundry mat. I followed VRBO’s policy and reached out to them the next day. They asked what type of compensation I would like for the inconvenience of not having a W/D and I asked for 200. Once I started communicating with VRBO, the owner replied, asked that I communicate with him via text rather than through VRBO. He said he looked at the washer/dryer but could not fix it and said he scheduled a tech to come out Monday morning. He sent a text on Tuesday, said he scheduled a tech for that afternoon. The tech was able to identify the problem, would return on Wednesday with a part. We left on Thursday, I don’t believe the W/D was ever repaired. There are also other problems with the unit. I still have not received the 200 refund I requested. He stated he would send the refund through Zelle because his software with VRBO was not fully integrated.
