"Very friendly front of house staff. Hotel and spa a little rundown. Hot stone massage was amazing. The hotel do a lunch/bar menu that consist of sandwiches and baguettes from 12 till 5 everyday. However the biggest let down was that the chef had " closed the kitchen" because he wasn't prepared for valentine's day dinners and refused to make me something. "Our stay at the Jack Russell was very enjoyable. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely view. However, the lighting was very subdued which is relaxing but it would have been useful to have more efficient reading lamps. The breakfast bar was good but it would have been nice to have a selection of nuts and seeds and full fat natural yoghurt. "
