Small, very basic. We arrived a bit early and Property was not ready for us - eventually manager came to make beds and tidy up after check-in time. There is no beach but nice views. Furnishings and fixtures are pretty dated and cottage could use a little TLC. Overall fine but we will not likely choose this property again.

Beautiful and Peaceful

Comfortable house with great porch view of the ocean. Alicia was most informative and responsive to questions, and helped make our arrival and stay smooth and comfortable. A suggestion: having a standing fan on the back porch would greatly help on hot days with no wind to not only stay cool but also blow the obnoxious flies away.

Easter weekend turned vacation

My favorite part was star gazing whilst listening to the waves lapping and taking in the fresh sea breeze at night! Quiet, set back and so peaceful, just what we all needed! Everything was great, owner and property manager where very responsive and helpful! Would definitely stay again! Thank you so much for sharing!

7 Days in Paradise

The view from the property was absolutely incredible—definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The beach is coral rather than sand, so water shoes are a must, but that also means the snorkeling is amazing, with plenty of fish and marine life to see just steps from the shore.The house itself had a great tropical vibe and was very clean and well-maintained. It felt secluded and peaceful, thanks to the surrounding trees and vegetation (which also helped block the ocean winds), but everything in town was just a short golf cart ride away—super convenient.The host was great—very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The beds were a little firm for our taste, but the house came well-stocked with kitchen essentials, towels, linens, and even games, which was a nice touch.

Great Trip!

Perfect place for a secluded, romantic getaway! My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and had a wonderful, relaxing time! Hanging out in the yard/porch and staring out into the ocean was just what we needed! Be sure to check out Sandbar across the street! It’s a great little place on the water!

Great Getaway

We had a great relaxing 10 day stay. Thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of this home and the islands. Originally booked for 7 days and extended our stay to 10 as we found it hard to leave this paradise. Alicia was very responsive and great to work with.

A little slice of heaven!

We loved our visit. Alicia was very helpful in preparing for our trip, helping with airport transfer, golf cart rental, and food and activity recommendations. The house is just what we needed- the view is incredible, with a private and quiet property. The kitchen and house was well stocked with supplies. It was a beautiful 10 minute cart ride to downtown Spanish Wells and 5 minutes to stunning practically empty beaches. The restaurant across the street was super convenient too. We suggest visiting Papa Scoops, Shipyard, breakfast at Eagle's Landing, Buddha's, and following the local Facebook page as that's the best source of info for goings on on the island. Thank you for a terrific getaway!

Sand star on Russel Island

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very nice. The view is gorgeous! Beautiful turquoise ocean! Not good snorkeling from the shore of the property as we had hoped. We took two excursions and enjoyed them. You definitely need a golf cart or car to get around.

The house could do with a more thorough clean. The grounds in front of the house would benefit from some TL, including the driveway which tends to get muddy when it rains. The shower would benefit from a pump to increase the pressure and the flow of water. For a short term stay, the house is fine.

Fantastic house

The house was great, very clean and nice. Kitchen has everything you need and also the bbq was perfect. Outside veranda is fantastic to have meal because there is always a light breeze. The access to the sea is not easy forcthe kids but there is a nice beach just opposite to the road they could go by themself.

Great Stay

After my flight was canceled, the host for this property was able to accommodate me and my family. We greatly appreciate her quick responses (even through the Wi-Fi issues). We loved the location and enjoyed the gorgeous views. The house has everything you need to cook meals with plenty of towels and comfort. The only negative was the water pressure for the shower, not a deal breaker - just preference. The walk to the water is rocky, so you need sturdy water shoes. I was thankful to be able to spend a few days in this lovely location.

What a perfect place to relax! We took kayaks out and found a secret beach.The sunsets are beautiful! close to Sandbar Beach Bar perfect for lunch & dinner. Candida was so helpful with all of our questions!!

Lovely Island - Great Communication

Such a lovely island and villa was great. Candida, the project manager was brilliant. We missed our connecting flight and was delayed by a day and Candida kept in contact by WhatsApp and re-scheduled all of our taxi, ferry and gold cart hire and short notice. The villa was lovely and private and had everything needed - even air con in each bedroom. For the days that were stormy we had access to the villa Netflix and Disney plus and board games etc. When the weather was good, we were out in the garden, swimming in the sea and waling on the public beach. The kitchen has everything needed and the Food Fair supermarket was so well stocked. The Sand bar is literally a 2min walk across the road and the food was lovely. Was so good having the washer and dryer there so we didn't need to pack a lot and there were more than enough towels for beach and showers etc.

A dream come true

I love the sound of the ocean. This place provided the soothing sounds of the waves breaking all night. If it weren't so far, and complicated I would go again for sure. My only disappointment is that I didn't look closely at the pictures of the coast line. It is not made of sand, but rather fossilized coral as is so much of the Caribbean near Florida. But it was a good thing that I had some very sturdy water shoes. I went into the water with them. Also very close by there is a very nice sandy beach. I highly recommend going.

Absolutely Beautiful

My wife and I stayed at Sand Star for 2 weeks and it was great. The property is very clean and has a beautiful view. Snorkelling was great right off the back yard. Candida was great to work with, and she respond immediately to every question and request. We will return.
