Beachfront - Royal View Villa

Your dream vacation awaits you at Royal View. This cozy 3 bedroom, 2 bath rental with open loft is located on Russell Island, Spanish Wells. Spanish Wells is an island community located in The Bahamas. It is very close to the much larger island of Eleuthera, and is about 48 miles from the country's capital city of Nassau. Our waters glisten from the bright, warm rays of the sun. These waters are crucial to the mainstay of the island, lobster fishing, but they are also one of the factors that lure visitors to our shore. Our mile long beach is just minutes away from the cottage and will seem like your own as it is never crowded, this is the perfect place for your vacation getaway.

The newly renovated beachfront house comes with a golf cart to get around town easily. This rental is equipped with smart TV and High Speed Internet. You can keep up to date with family and news from back home. Dine at one of the restaurants in Spanish Wells or be your own chef, with a full kitchen the choice is yours. You also have the convenience of a full laundry right in the cottage. Our back yard has the most amazing view from the deck overlooking Meeks Patch and Royal Island.

You may want to get in on a fishing excursion or a beaching experience where you can visit with the swimming pigs at one of our nearby islands which we will be glad to arrange for you. Also available are day trips to Harbour Island and Eleuthera. Boat rentals are also available and we recommend that you book these in advance. Kayaks and paddleboards come with this rental so you can kayak 5 minutes away to The Sandbar a tiki bar on the beach and have a refreshing cocktail or lunch, Spanish Wells is known as the fishing capital of the Bahamas. The fishing snorkeling and diving in the area is second to none. Spanish Wells is also considered one of the safest, cleanest, and most pristine areas of the Bahamas. The locals are very friendly people who take pride in their community, heritage and work.

Royal View is easy to get to with daily flights from Florida into North Eleuthera International Airport or Nassau International Airport, There is also a Bahamas Fast Ferry out of Nassau that comes into Spanish Wells daily weather permitted this service is not always reliable if they have a charter or if the weather is bad they will cancel without notice.

Weekend in Spanish Wells

The property is super cute on the inside and the beach access is amazing and reclusive. The view is absolutely beautiful. The property is located at least 15 minutes from the government ferry but the drive to the house is relaxing and has great views. However, make sure you bring toilet paper as they did not provide enough for our stay. The furniture in the living room is broken. Some seats recline, some do not recline, and one will not go down from the reclining position. There were roaches seen in the house multiple times and even seen crawling on the counters. The photos listed on VRBO are outdated as the furniture is different. The blue futons in the photos are no longer in the house, so do not plan to have someone sleeping there. The host would not budge on check in or check out time even with explaining the flight information of our group. (We asked for check out to be delayed one hour as we had multiple groups leaving at different times.)Due to the above issues, I will choose a different location with a different host on my next visit!

Hello my new favorite beach

Our hosts were awesome. Beach house was perfect for us and the view was incredible. Gulf car access easy to everything on the island. We bugged our hosts daily and they were quick to help with setting up tours, recommendations to and from airport etc.

Nice house, amazing location and view. The beds were very comfortable and the house came with several water toys we could enjoy. Having a golf cart for this house is a must!

Beautiful views and wonderful hospitality!

The property was gorgeous! The views of the water from the home’s porch were fabulous! The home was clean and was well stocked with kitchen items, etc. Beds were very comfortable. The porch furniture could use some updating, but was still functional for its intended purpose and understanding how difficult it is to keep things looking “new” in the island elements. Jaime was a fantastic host who was always there when we needed her. Highly recommend an outing with Captain Shane! A terrific recommendation by Jaime that did not disappoint! A truly magical and memorable vacation!

Private Peaceful Paradise

Our family of 6 stayed 5 nights on this stunning property. The hosts make everything run smooth from start to finish. Their Seagillian Boat Charter is a must!!! Can’t wait to return.

Wonderful place to get away.

My family had a great time at Royal View. The home was as advertised. Being right on the water was a plus. We really enjoyed the paddleboards as it's always fun to try something new. The host had a taxi waiting for us at the airport and then she was waiting for us as we arrived via ferry to the island. Jamie showed us to our golf cart and then led us out to the house (approx. 15 minute golf cart drive). Jamie also helped us book an afternoon boat tour of the area (pigs, swing & snorkeling). We all agree the boat tour was the highlight of our trip. Would highly recommend Royal View.

What a lie! Not what we expected - Very outdated pictures

My family and I had a very poor experience renting this property. The pictures, shown on VRBO, are very outdated and don’t represent what you are truly paying for. In comparison to the other properties, on the island that rent for the same amount or less, this property was a complete rip off. To begin with, the deck nor anything on the deck has been maintained decently. The railing has loose parts that are dangerous for anyone that requires the rail to secure themselves before going up and down the stairs. The wooden top of the railing literally came off in my hand. Fortunately, I caught myself before falling back. The same thing happened to a good friend of ours that came over during our stay. The furniture on the deck is extremely rusted with broken legs and very weathered and torn up cushions on multiple chairs. Sadly, we were looking forward to spending a good deal of time out on the deck, enjoying the outdoor space with friends and family; however, this space could not be used safely during our stay. The owners did provide snorkeling gear for five along with 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards yet both of the kayaks and one of the paddle boards were broken and unable to be used. This was truly a big letdown as far as the outdoor amenities were concerned. Upon entering the house, we found that there was one less couch, than what the VRBO pictures show, we had a small refrigerator, that is meant for a camper, rather than the side-by-side refrigerator that was shown in the pictures and when I went to cook I didn’t have adequate cookware to handle the needs of four adults and an infant, when this property is supposed to be setup for 10 people. We didn’t even have the use of the microwave during our stay as there was no turntable and everything we tried to warm up would burn. What a joke! The refrigerator became a big issue, during our stay, as it was much smaller than the space where the double door refrigerator had been, leaving cords/cables exposed which our one and a half-year-old grandson continued to try and get. My husband tried communicating with the property owners. They responded quite rudely and blamed everything on island life and us not understanding. It was not a question of us not understanding nor island life. The pictures are misleading thus we didn’t receive what we paid for and the owners offered no resolve. We have never had such a horrible experience with renting through VRBO!

We had the best week at this property. The location was wonderful, Jaime was very responsive and helped so much in planning our trip. Highly recommend a charter with Shane and Shannon. We couldn’t have had a better trip!

The most unbelievable view….

The property …which is huge..was wonderful. The house has its quirks which made it so much more comfortable. We were totally relaxed. The only things we really thought about was what to have for dinner..should we go out going to eat…or stay in and cook at home! Beds very comfortable…the Sweetings made sure that we were well taken care of…if a question or anything needed to be done …they took care of it immediately.

Wonderfully quiet and beautiful location!

Overall a very wonderful place for the price! Really nothing in the description or pictures is not accurate and Jamie is wonderful and very good at communicating. We would definitely come and stay here again and also might consider the property that’s right on the water with the deck over the ocean. The only point I would make is that at this end of the island there is only well water so the shower and have water is very salty and slightly brown, which doesn’t bother us but it may others. There is a water dispenser in the kitchen which is supplied nicely and no issues but just letting those know that might want to know. There are two queen beds in one room upstairs with a separate bath and two separate bedrooms downstairs with a separate bath. It is not clear in the pictures that there are two beds in the room upstairs which is great because including the futons and makes it a place for about 10 people. And lastly a little buggy golf cart was wonderful to have to run around the island in. Thank you again Jamie and Shannon for a wonderful time and will see you soon!

Fantastic view!

We stayed at Royal View for a week. The house was everything we expected, it fit our family of 6 perfectly. The Sweetings are great people and went out of their way to accomodate any of our request before and during our stay. We are already looking at staying again next year.

Beautiful property and amazing hosts

Firstly the island is amazing and everyone is so friendly. Next the view was absolutely spectacular from the house, it made everything that much harder to leave. The hosts were awesome, had everything ready for us as soon as we landed, golf cart was waiting for our use, and they were always a text away and helped us anytime we needed. 10/10 will be visiting this island and house again in the near future.

Fantastic setting with attentive host

Everything was wonderful! Favorite day spent on host’s fishing boat. Caught lots of fish which host cooked for us on beautiful beach. Hostess sent Bahamian Mac n cheese & rice n peas. Remainder day sightseeing swimming pigs, sea turtles. Seagillian Life is awesome

Peaceful Paradise

Such a beautiful place! Peaceful, very friendly community! Stress free, safe place for the family, the kids were able to go around by themselves and just enjoy the freedom. We were there during Covid so the fact that you have to take multiple covid tests was inconvenient but if you want to be in the Bahamas you gotta do what you gotta do. Jamie was great with communication! Our family hopes to be back! We loved the trip!

Peaceful property

Lovely rustic cottage with amazing deck. Ocean view with great swimming right in front. Comfy beds. Loved driving the golf cart into town! Many wonderful restaurants & shops. Jaime, Shannon, Shane, & Christy were so helpful! Being there during the COVID 19 scare was hard, but we felt safe & well cared for. Please check this place out!

Comfortable house with lots of toys!

Great house for our family of five. Used the kayaks, beach chairs, paddle boards, golf cart. We also rented bikes that were waiting for us upon arrival. Loved the quiet of the area. Note- the No-see-ums were relentless during our stay. Limited our outside time to late morning thru mid-afternoon. I don’t know if this is common in december, but we didn’t have them on Eleuthera at all. Hosts were great- super helpful and very responsive to all of our questions and requests! Set up our taxi from airport and then met us at the ferry dock to take us to the home (in both directions).

PERFECT LOCATION!

What a GREAT location! Beautiful view, minutes to the Sandbar restaurant, which has reasonable prices and great food. Awesome private beach a few minutes to the west, with amazing snorkeling. Spanish Wells is quick and easy access via the provided golf cart - 10 minutes maybe? - you can find almost anything you need grocery wise at Food Fair, there are two liquor stores on Spanish Wells, and more great food and views at Shipyard. Everyone is very friendly. I think the Royal View would be particularly good for families - plenty of room and a very safe protected beach right out front, shallow enough for toddlers, but deep enough,for a quick dip or even laps for adults. We so enjoyed the tropical fish and starfish at the end of the jetty. We even found Nemo! The owner makes arrival and departure very easy, setting up taxi and ferry service from and to airport. This was one of our favorite vacations ever.

Highly Recommend

We stayed for a short visit, but fell in love with the view and area. Stunning ocean view, quiet area and we were well taken care of. Have already recommended for future trips and look forward to coming back to enjoy again soon.
