Your separate media room comes equipped with a 77' flat screen TV with Apple TV, a PlayStation5 to Play Like Never Before, and Pottery Barn leather sectional seating for enjoying with family and friends! Besides enjoying a game, or your own movies and music via streaming apps like Netflix and iTunes, feel free to enjoy a book, play a board game, or pass an afternoon on the second story outdoor seating area watching the sail and power boats explore the coast. Your custom kitchen, part of a hundred thousand dollar renovation, waits just inside, where you can fix anything from French 75's to a pitcher of frozen margaritas-- or gourmet cook to your hearts content-- while drinking in the visual beauty of the Carolina coast or listening to shore birds and the clinking of the ships' rigging... Downstairs, one bedroom is perfect for young children with its two day beds, comfortingly enclosed on three sides. Two roll-out trundles are great for siblings. Or, the bedroom can be put to good use by single friends maximizing space on vacation! Enjoy the back porch swing and two bathrooms from which to choose: one with a custom, marble-tiled shower enclosure with its own water-heater to ensure endless showers or another with a Jacuzzi jetted-tub large enough for couples or young children and their friends! A second bedroom is perfect for couples or siblings with its full-size, handmade solid pine daybed with full-size, roll-out trundle. Both bedrooms also feature sail chairs--comfortable and nearly indestructible-- made locally from up-cycled, racing-grade, boat sail!. The third bedroom, with queen bed, antique side tables and blanket chest, is well-suited to grandparents or another couple. It is also the location of the wireless router which affords high speed internet throughout the home. Your upstairs custom kitchen has bar seating as well as a more formal dining area for eight. In addition to typical amenities, enjoy your Keurig, espresso maker, charcoal grill (Big Green Egg, XL, to be exact), and atypical cookware including a pressure cooker favored in many cuban dishes. You'll also find your kitchen basics fully stocked on arrival-- we do ask that you replenish what you use and we welcome suggestions on what you'd like to see added in the future. Outside, enjoy cornhole in your side yard, display your grilling expertise on your own luxury Big Green Egg (but please ONLY use the supplied BGE Charcoal and SpeediLight Natural Charcoal Starters) in the hardscaped backyard with built-in firepit, stroll through the picturesque neighborhood, or take a swim or a suntan in the in-ground pool. If exploring's your passion, the marina, coastal walk, and historic Southport are just down the street. If bar-life or food are your passions, stroll to six right on the water-- and don't be surprised to watch dolphins play while you eat (or drink!). For ‘Vitamin T’ seekers, walk to the Southport Yoga Dock for daily classes, wellness, and the kind of centered feeling no amount of money can buy! Jump on your bikes or walk a little farther for the shopping or antiquing which brings day trippers down from Wilmington, Oak Island, or Bald Head. Terrific beaches are easily accessible by car and/or ferry, ranging from minutes on neighboring Oak Island to 30 minutes or so for Wilmington area destinations. Or, with an additional security deposit, fee, and proof of boating experience, use your 19' Grady White with a Yamaha 150, berthed within eyesight of your home, and the entire coast is your playground! Pack a picnic and Pelican Island can be your private beach, and is a 5-minute boat-ride away. Visit Bald Head Island and its miles of pristine beaches, including terrific body-surfing and surfing breaks. Boat the Intracoastal and stop for lunch, dinner, or drinks, wherever you fancy! If golf's your passion, St James Resort is right around the corner by boat or car. Original art throughout including works by local artists and the Georgia-based, Sandra Sacco. Custom ceiling fans throughout.

We had a wonderful New Years at the Crazy Bird! Location was perfect for walking to shops and restaurants. The updated Kitchen and Media room were a hit for our group. We enjoyed the card and board games that were provided. The kids enjoyed having their own space while the adults were playing games. The deck off the kitchen is a perfect place for morning coffee or afternoon nap. Everyone in our group was very pleased with how clean everything was. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

This is a lovely home within walking distance of the quaint downtown of Southport with many cute shops and delicious restaurants. The upstairs balcony off the kitchen is a great place to sit in the morning sun and enjoy the view of the harbor.Of note, the kitchen, dining area, and play station / TV room are all on the second floor, along with the master bedroom with en suite bathroom and a half bath near the kitchen. The first floor has three bedrooms, two bathrooms (including a jacuzzi!), laundry and a coat / game closet. What was missing for us was a living room or family room.Communication with the owners was prompt and helpful.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay and enjoy Southport.Beautiful house with everything we could possibly want.It was an easy and lovely walk to town.Had fun riding the bikes too.Enjoyed our first experience grilling on the Big Green Egg. The community pool was lovely.We enjoyed watching boats from the porch.We will definitely be coming back.

Great stay! Media Room has a great leather couche-- and we liked the glass doors to close it off to enhance the movie experience :) Loved the location, and all the enhancements the owners keep putting in-- we definitely plan to return!

Awesome beach house

It was beautiful house and lots of appliances and just very clean and the beds were very comfortable and Patrick and Carrie are awesome they told us everything we needed to know about our stay!

Family vacation

Our family vacation at the house was an absolute blast! We had a fantastic time with 8 people. There was so much to do - we spent our days relaxing on the beach, taking a dip in the pool, exploring the town, finding great places to eat and finding some time to just chill and unwind. It was a perfect blend of excitement and relaxation!

Great House, Great Location!

We loved our weekend at Crazy Birds! We stayed there for a wedding and it was the perfect house for our needs. So close to everything in Southport and the amenities were great. Would stay again!

Since there are no closets available for guest, hang hooks on back of doors and/or have luggage racks available. There was no toiletries in upstairs bathroom. Reword room/beds available. We thought we'd get a room with 2 double beds not a trundle bed that adults have to climb over.

Wedding Weekend

We enjoyed our stay so much! The place was perfect for our family for our daughter's wedding. We wanted a place where her bridesmaids could stay with us and get ready before the wedding. Crazy about Crazy Birds!

Very nicely equipped property (Big Green Egg, firepit, great bathrooms throughout, etc) with fantastic location-- we walked to dinners, into town, for coffee, and all along the waterfront drinking in the beauty of the area! It was cool to check-out high-end appliances like the SubZero fridge and Cove dishwasher too. Talked with the owners and know the Media Room renovation is under contract and we're excited to see that improvement-- we'll definitely be back!
