Acerca de este alojamiento

The Oaks Barns, Two Hot Tubs and a Fire Pit in Hampshire

  • Summary:

Six bedrooms and three bathrooms for up to twelve, across two adjoining barns that share a driveway: The Oaks Barn sleeps eight and The Piggery four. Every bedroom is on the ground floor. The main barn's dining table seats the whole party for a celebration meal, each barn has a log burner and its own hot tub, and the fire pit keeps the evening going. Marwell Zoo is about 9 minutes by car and Winchester about 19.

    The Space:

    Sleeping

The Oaks Barn: two bedrooms with a UK king-size bed, and two bedrooms with two single beds.

The Piggery: one bedroom with a UK king-size bed, and one with two single beds.

In all three twin rooms the singles can be made up as a king instead; let us know your mix when you book. Linen, towels and room-darkening blinds are provided.

    Bathrooms

Three bathrooms: two in The Oaks Barn, with a bath and a walk-in shower, and one in The Piggery, with a walk-in shower and a freestanding bath.

    Kitchens and dining

Each barn has its own fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave and coffee machine. The Oaks Barn has the 12-seat dining table and a breakfast bar.

    Living spaces

Both barns have a log burner and underfloor heating. The Oaks Barn has a mezzanine sitting room with a TV and a children's corner, reached by a spiral staircase; The Piggery has a conservatory.

    Outside

Two separate enclosed gardens, each with its own hot tub (six people in The Oaks Barn, four in The Piggery), plus outdoor furniture, barbecues and a fire pit.

    Everyday practicals

Wi-Fi in both barns, a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and sugar, toiletries and firelighters.

    Travelling with children

A high chair, stair gates, children's tableware, books, toys and board games are here, and a travel cot is available on request (bring cot linen; the base is firm, so many parents add a small duvet). Please supervise children in the hot tubs and on the spiral staircase.

    Bringing your dog

Up to three dogs are welcome. A pet fee applies, and dogs should stay off the furniture.

    Good to know

Both hot tubs are emptied, cleaned and refilled after every booking, for hygiene and to meet health and safety guidance. New water needs 6 to 8 hours to heat, so after a same-day changeover they may not be hot on your first evening. They're open from 8 am to 10 pm, and outdoor noise should stay low after 10 pm because neighbours live close by. Horses graze next door, so fireworks aren't permitted, and the barns can't host parties or events. The site has a single outdoor security camera, which points away from the hot tubs.

    Guest Access:

Your group has both barns and both gardens to itself. Self check-in is between 4 pm and 9 pm, with a gate keypad and a key lockbox for each barn, and check-out is by 10 am. The shared driveway fits at least seven cars, with EV chargers (pay by app).

    The Neighborhood:

Durley is a quiet countryside village with two pubs, the Robin Hood and the Farmer's Home, and footpaths for walking dogs. Marwell Zoo is about 9 minutes by car and Paultons Park about 24, both favourites with children. Bishop's Waltham's shops are 8 minutes away, the riverside village of Hamble 16, Winchester and its cathedral 19, and the New Forest about half an hour. Large supermarkets are in nearby Hedge End.

    Getting Around:

The M27 and M3 are both close. Southampton Airport is about 15 minutes by car, Eastleigh station about 14 and Southampton Central about 21, with direct trains to London Waterloo.

    Other Things to Note:

ID check and deposit: after booking, the lead guest completes a short ID check and deposit step with our partner SafeGuest. You choose either a Damage Deposit of £500 (your card is saved and nothing is taken up front; it can only be charged for a claim SafeGuest approves after check-out) or SafeGuest's No Deposit fee of £55 (a one-off fee paid to SafeGuest). If you can't use the photo ID check, message us and we'll arrange a short video call instead. Please don't send ID documents by email. Your booking is on the Blue Puffin Stays Booking Terms (Guests) and the House Rules for this home.

Check-in closes at 9 pm, so please plan to arrive within the window. Stays of up to 30 nights can be booked.

    Interaction with Guests:

Our local team looks after The Oaks Barns and answers your Vrbo messages every day from 8 am to 8 pm, with help on arrival until 9 pm. Before you travel we send the bedroom plans, codes and directions. For a real emergency during your stay, call the number in your check-in details at any time.
