Escape to the mountains and this ultimate retreat! This alpine apartment sleeps 4 people and would suit a family or friends who want to enjoy fresh mountain air and unspoiled nature.

On the first floor of a traditional house, the apartment has charming sloping ceilings and wooden floors throughout. It is reached by two external staircases. The first has 10 steps and the second has 25. The main living area is a kitchen/diner, with a dining table for 4 people. The open-plan kitchenette is equipped with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, food warmer and an American coffee machine.

At the entrance to the bedroom, there is a seating area with chairs and a coffee table.

On the terrace next to the front door, guests will find a dining table for 4 people, for relaxed meals al fresco.

Sleeping
Tucked under the wooden roof, the cosy bedroom is furnished with two double beds and has a glass door that opens onto a balcony with stunning mountain views. There is a table and chairs where guests can sit with a cup of coffee and enjoy their surroundings.

Bathroom
The tiled bathroom has a shower, basin and WC.

Location
The house is on a quiet side road in the charming village of Frasco, in the Val Verzasca. Frasco is off the beaten track, surrounded by meadows and woodland, overlooking the lovely Verzasca River. There are many hiking trails as well as stunning treks along the Redorta River, up to La Froda waterfall (a 40-minute walk). The woodland trails of Bobosco (www.bobosco.ch) are very popular with children (10 minutes). The idyllic village of Sonogno is just 5 minutes from the house. Here guests can find a small grocery store and various cafés.

The city of Locarno, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, is 50 minutes away. The Thursday market in Piazza Grande combines a farmers market, where you can pick up the best local produce, with stalls selling regional crafts and second-hand clothes, books etc.

The closest international airport is in Italy, Milan Malpensa is 2 hours and 10 minutes away by car. Linate Airport is 2 hours and 20 minutes.
