4/10
I had a very unsettling experience during my recent stay at the Hampton Inn. My check-in time was scheduled for 4 PM on June 5th, but I called ahead to ask if my husband and I could check in an hour early. The front desk confirmed that it was fine, so we checked in at 3 PM without issue — or so we thought.
Later that evening, while I was alone in our room around 6 PM, a man suddenly entered using a hotel-issued key. I was completely startled and panicked, thinking someone was breaking in. It turned out that the hotel had somehow failed to register our check-in correctly and gave another guest a key to our already-occupied room.
This was not just a simple mistake — it was a serious breach of safety and privacy. As a woman alone in a hotel room, I felt incredibly vulnerable and unsafe. Though the guest who entered quickly realized the mistake and left, the emotional impact of the incident lingered.
I expected better from a trusted brand like Hampton Inn. I hope they take this incident seriously and review their procedures to ensure no one else has to go through such a frightening experience.
