Great overall stay

The cabin was to be expected in the woods. Older, a slight smell, but overall clean. Well kept. Outside porch could use some work. We found a small snake in the cabinets, I reached out to the owners on VrBO and text to let them know, but never got a response. The cabin was close to the marina at Sligo, which was our overall goal. The space is comfortable. Grill was great. Hot tub is a nice touch! Small kitchen if you are wanting to cook.

Perfect Getaway

This was a perfect weekend getaway to unplug and relax. You truly did feel like you lived high up in the trees. We appreciated the thoughtfulness of instructions and labels, and small touches like old games hanging on the walls, adult coloring books, birdfeeders hanging on the deck (saw so many birds).. made it an event more pleasant experience. We will be back!

Weekend Getaway

We rented this property for a long weekend with family/friends and were very pleased with everything. Very nice property and perfect for a few days away, but close enough that you can get anything you need. Plenty of hikes close by and during the summer, would be a great location that is convenient to Sligo Marina nearby. Unfortunately our stay was cut short by a day due to pending winter weather, but we will definitely be back.

Private Hideaway

My wife and I have a habit of celebrating our wedding anniversary by traveling to some remote location to rest and "disconnect" from urban life for a few days. Our latest such destination was the Tree House near Center Hill Lake. We really loved it. It was a nice, well-appointed cabin, large enough for 8, but great for a couple, perched on a hillside, in a secluded spot in a wooded area where you can enjoy nature and privacy away from urban lights and sounds. A screened area of the porch allowed us to sit outside in the evenings without having to use mosquito repellents, which was great! Other nice cabin features included a grill and a hot tub. Overall, a great place to relax and unwind if you'd like to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life for a while.

Uncle Keith's Birthday Celebration

We had a lovely, relaxing time. The Tree House is perfect for relaxing and watching the birds! The house is equipped with everything one could possibly need for grilling and cooking. Thank you for keeping such a beautiful place!

Friends from college - We loved the treehouse!

Friends from college met at the treehouse in Smithville for the weekend. It was the perfect getaway to stay inside all weekend. All the accommodations were perfectly suited for us. Loved the hot tub!

What can you do, they got your money.

To save everyone from a long, wordy review, here are the things wrong with this rental: • Overpriced • The entire home needed a cleaning. For the cleaning fee charged, you would expect not to be able to write your name in dust. • The bathroom ceiling has obvious water damage that has been painted over once, but the brown water stains remain. • You will find the balcony separating from the wall in the master bedroom, causing a concern for anyone walking onto it. • The antiquated dryer did not work like the management company stated. The missing dial was apparently intended. They did offer to come check it, but we left before we needed to use it. We would’ve stayed our entire rental period and used both the washer and dryer but were disgusted with the entire experience. • The photos online are a bad representation of the actual space. These photos were likely taken with a wide-angle lens to make the best shot, but the guest bedroom is much smaller than the photo makes it appear. • The view overlooking the valley below is lackluster in the winter. While we would understand a winter view to not be the best, don’t charge fall prices if you can’t deliver on the home itself. • We had to temporarily repair one of the recliners so it would recline properly. • Finally, while you stay at this rental, you will be greeted with noises in the wall. At first unsure of where they were coming from, we are fairly certain they were squirrels from the nuts that fell from the master bathroom exhaust vent. You will also find a rotten board along the chimney where they likely enter/exit. We did visit the rental host and complained of how upset we were. The manager offered to fix the dryer and have someone clean but missed the point that at this price we shouldn’t have these issues and the misrepresentation of this property made us feel duped. While we would have appreciated a refund of some of the cost, we received nothing and left two nights before the rental time ended. We expected this to be one of the better rentals we’ve been to since it had a premium price tag. (Several dollars more than we’ve paid for VRBOs in New Orleans, LA, Santa Rosa, FL or Blue Ridge, GA.) Unfortunately, this was not the case. We're marking this one up as stupid tax, licking our wounds and searching for another vacation spot.

Relaxing stay

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin, but wished the views were better. As the cabin is in the treetops you weren’t able to see the mountains or wildlife from the balcony. I would suggest going later in the year when the leaves start to change / fall off for better views. Lots of spiders and bugs, so we did not end up using the hot tub tub. Overall I found the cabin cute and very comfortable but smaller than imagined. Appliances are a bit outdated and take some TLC to work. Enjoyed hiking and visiting the creamery nearby. There was a nice binder left by the hosts with nearby places to do things and eat. Also plenty of supplies available such as toilet paper, towels, dishwasher tabs, etc). Small town, but great for a quite getaway.

Friends weekend

The cabin is adorable. Everything is set up for ease of use. The hot tub was new and clean. Nearby trails (approx 20 min) with large waterfalls. We had coffee on the screened in deck every morning - literally felt like we were in the tree. Great stay
