My air-conditioned, underfloor heated, spacious 3 bedroom thirties Art Deco townhouse is the result of a 3 year loving restoration of a British Military family home in the heart of Sliema’s urban conservation zone. It's packed with original features including original stained glass windows and Maltese floor tiles that we have restored one pane and tile at a time which are unique & irreplaceable.

• The best location – The house is superbly located just a short walk to Sliema centre and the ferry to Valetta. Its also 5 minutes walk to Balluta bay and all that St Julian’s has to offer.

You will have 100% private use of the whole house which is set over three floors, including the back garden, the lightwell outdoor bathroom, both of which are part of the ground floor master suite, as well as both terraces on level 2 and the roof chillout zone.

 I host because I love helping people discover the beauty and enchantment of the Maltese islands. More than anything, I give my guests the opportunity to experience life the way we do as locals. In this house particularly, you will get a window in the world of 1930's Art Deco Malta.
 I respond quickly via the HomeAway and VRBO apps, on Messaging Apps and by phone if you have any questions.
 We will normally be here to welcome you personally when you arrive but I also provide self-check-in via your personal door code if you are arriving late.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Sliema was the first seaside resort in Malta, where Valetta residents in the 19th century went to get a break from the city ! In the 1920’s, it developed as the British military expanded their use of Malta as a strategic base in the Med.

It was at this time that our street was built and the townhouse built. It was leased to a British officer and his family who lived there for two generations.

Now it finds itself in the heart of the urban conservation zone as Sliema looks to protect its history and heritage for future generations.

I've left a tablet in my place paced with suggestions of things to do and great places to eat.

GETTING AROUND

Everything is in walking distance in Sliema, but you can also explore using Bolt (Malta’s answer to Uber), App based and offers the best priced trips compared to traditional taxi’s.

On two wheels, NextBike offer app based bike rental from adjacent Dingly Street and you can drop or pickup bikes at a large number of stations along the seafront and through to Valetta, either pay per use or buy a daily or weekly pass during your stay.

You can rent a car from Hertz & other usual suspects from a 5-10 min walk from the house, or why not try the Car Sharing system GoTo Malta (app based) which allows you to rent an electric car by the minute.

Wir haben uns nach diversen Erkundigungen von Malta immer wieder darauf gefreut, in "unser" Haus zurückzukehren, einen Ankerpunkt der Ruhe und Entspannung - und den Tag auf der Dachterrasse ausklingen zu lassen.

Overall, we had a great stay. Communication was excellent and any issues that we had were addressed. The house itself was clean and was arranged nicely. The amenities were wonderful and accommodating. The location was near many things to see and do: waterfront, restaurants, landmarks, and shops.

We couldn't have asked for a better location and set up for our party of 8. When going to a city that you know nothing about, it's nice to know that the description of the property is spot on. We were able to walk to shops and restaurants and grab a Bolt (Uber in Malta) to anything that wasn't walking distance. The house manager was in constant communication. We would definitely recommend this property.

This property was outstanding. Susan has thought of everything (even a printer!). The rooms are beautifully appointed, bathrooms fantastic. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need. We loved cooking on the grill and eating on the roof top deck. Beach towels included! Communication with Susan and her team professional and helpful and they are very attentive. A great place to base yourself in Malta.

Really enjoyed staying in Aster House. Beautiful renovation within fairly easy walking distance of everything you need. Worked very well for 2 couples. Very well setup in the kitchen and bathrooms. Very quiet area. Can't fault it and I've stayed in a lot of properties over the years. You do need to be ok with stairs as the living rooms are on the top floor - 3rd floor

The location was fantastic! A short walk to beaches, transportation, restaurants, historic sights. The amenities and comfort in the house were fantastic. The multiple levels in the house allow for time to unwind in separate spaces. Malta is a unique island and this house is equally unique and a gem.

We had a fabulous stay at this gorgeous townhouse. The architecture is stunning, combining old with new - we loved the balcony and doors and the amazing tiles. The house is immaculately styled, super clean and well-equipped - the smart controls are a very nice touch. The bedrooms were super comfy, with stylish bathrooms. Ot's a great place to hang out - we loved sitting out on the terrace. The house came with a pre-loaded tablet with excellent recommendations - really helpful to know what's in the neighbourhood. Location is great, only a few mins walk from the harbour. Definitely go to Maypoles - the pea pastry was so delicious. Highly recommend staying here. We hope to be back.
