    Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Dog welcome pack.. Patio with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Bike store. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking!. This traditional Dales cottage dates back to 1750 with low beamed ceilings and original sneck doors. New for 2022 are two comfortable living room sofas with new cushions. Last year the cottage benefitted from being repainted and decorated with new curtains, blinds and chrome lights.

    Quietly located a 5-minute walk from Grassington’s main square with shops, tea rooms and inns serving food. Grassington hosts events round the year with the Summer Festival, 40’s weekend and the long standing Dickensian Festival. It has also provided the backdrop to the new series of ’All Creatures Great and Small’.

    The nearby villages of Kettlewell, Buckden and Linton also offer charming places to eat. Skipton, with its castle, bustling market and canal boats, is only 10 miles away. Historic Bolton Abbey on the River Wharfe is close by, as well as the scenic Settle-Carlisle railway over the Ribblehead viaduct. Slightly further afield is the pretty spa town of Harrogate and the historic city of York. The Dalesway walk goes past the property, and there is ample cycle storage for the more energetic that want to experience the roads used in the Tour de Yorkshire and Tour de France.

Westgarth perfectly suited all our requirements: quiet and dog-friendly, with easy access to lovely countryside walks; secure storage for bicycles; a secluded sun-trap outdoor seating area. The cottage was well-stocked with cleaning materials etc and the beds were very comfortable. We had good take-away fish and chips, Indian and pizzas from the village which was only five minutes walk away and we also had an excellent meal in nearby Appletreewick. we found Westgarth a very nice cottage in a very convenient location.

we found Westgarth a very nice cottage in a very convenient location. Lots of walking to be done direct from the door, and trips out to such places as Fountains Abbey and RHS Harlow Carr done with forward planning because of the current situation.
