Idyllic cottage on the Atlantic coast in the south west of Ireland

From the Cottage looks out directly on the Atlantic Ocean. The Bay of Tragumna is to speak in front of you. The house has about 80 square meters, it is divided into a large living / dining room with an open fireplace as the center and integrated kitchen on the ground floor, this room is open up to the roof and forms one side of the house. The other half consists of one bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor and upstairs, which is reached by a staircase with a small gallery from the living room. The cottage is fully furnished, bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided. The kitchen is well equipped, in the living room there is CD player, satellite TV and DVD player, the house has central heating and on the sea side a large terrace with access to a very large lawn. About the property leads to a small pebble beach in the bay; A sandy beach is 200m away. Near the house there is a traditional Irish pub with live music on weekends. In bustling Skibbereen (6km) you can buy everything that makes life pleasant. The coast between Tragumna and Castletownshend is spectacular with ever-changing views z. B. on the famous Lighthouse of Fastnet Rock

A stay next to the Atlantic but so peaceful. Great view from rear porch, safe garden, access to Skibbereen easy (car essential!).Cottage shows its age, needs more towels and better bedding, but comfortable and all needs catered for. Breda helps with any needs.

Wir haben uns im Trout 2 rundum wohlgefühlt. Das Cottage ist gut ausgestattet, die Kommunikation mit der Verwalterin vor Ort, war bestens und bei einer Woche im frühsommerlichen Dauerhoch,spielte uns auch das Wetter in die Karten.

We all enjoyed our stay very much! Lovely walks down to the ocean, watching the sunsets and beers at the pub. I don’t recall the listing saying there was no wifi which may be important to some. The town of Skibbereen itself was about 10 mins away and really charming. Breda was super helpful and responsive. Thanks for a great week!

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in diesem echt schönen Cottage. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man so braucht. Darüberhinaus sogar mit Büchern, DVDs und Spielen. Der atemberaubende Ausblick auf die Tragumna-Bay ist unbezahlbar. Vielen Dank für einen tollen Aufenthalt!

This is a lovely cottage and the hosts are very responsive and helpful. It is probably best suited for a warmer season fishing trip than a cold weather stay on the coast.The view from the cottage is gorgeous and the back yard is wonderful.

Ein uriges Cottage. Mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Super Lage am Meer. Ein gemütlicher Pub in der Nähe. Eine schöne abwechslungsreiche Küste sowohl in direkter Umgebung, als auch für Tagesausflüge. Einkäufe können im in der Nähe gelegenen Ort Skibbereen erledigt werden. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter und zur Betreuerin vor Ort war unkompliziert und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Das Cottage liegt perfekt, die Bucht, der Ausblick von der Terrasse, das Pub gleich neben an, alles super für einen entspannten Urlaub. Es gibt viele Highlights zum Erkunden in der Gegend. Brow’s Head, Mizen Head, Klinakilty, Skibbereen, … Kayaking, Fischen, Schwimmen, Surfen, alles möglich. Das Cottage selbst hinkt unserer Ansicht nach dem aktuellen Standard hinterher (keine Möglichkeit nasse Wäsche aufzuhängen - nicht nur für Neos, es regnet manchmal auch in Irland; kein wlan, keine Waschmaschine, …), war aber sauber und geräumig für uns zwei. Wenn man heizen und die stromfressende Heizung (Strom wird extra abgerechnet) vermeiden will, kann man den wunderbar ziehenden Kamin verwenden. Holz dafür gibt's im Supermarkt oder an der Tankstelle. Die in anderen Teilen Irlands und bei anderen Häusern, die wir im Laufe der Jahre gemietet hatten, übliche Menge Heizmaterial zur "Begrüßung" bzw. um direkt ein Feuer machen zu können, haben wir hier leider vermisst...

Urig-rustikales Cottage mit guter Ausstattung in perfekter Lage (faszinierender Ausblick auf das Meer und die Klippen). Schöner Pub direkt vor der Tür. Süd-West Irland lässt sich von hier prima erkunden. Toller Urlaub!

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub hier, absolut ruhige Umgebung! Das Wetter war Ende Juni/Anfang Juli recht kühl und unbeständig und das Cottage kühlt schnell aus. Die Bettdecken sind nicht wirklich warm und wir mussten heizen. Die Heizkosten muss man am Ende des Urlaubs bar bezahlen. Bei uns für 1 Woche 34 Eur. In der Küche haben wir scharfe Messer vermisst und ein Salatbesteck. Sonst alles bestens - West-Cork ist wunderschön und wir würden dieses Cottage wieder mieten.

What a beautiful place to say. The cottage was spotless when we arrived and is equipped with everything you need. Breda was so welcoming and always on hand to help and answer any questions we had throughout our stay. Waking up in the morning to the view across the bay was a real treat every day. I cannot wait to go back! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage for a second time!

Wir haben unsern Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Cottage bietet Blick auf die kleine Bucht und hat ein Pub direkt in der Nähe mit gutem Essen. Der Empfang war herzlich und es war alles vorhanden wie im Inserat beschrieben. Kleines Manko - das Cottage ist sehr hellhörig, sodass man zwischen den Stockwerken Gespräche / Geräusche mitbekommt. War bei unserer Gruppe aber kein Problem. Kleine Verbesserungen wären ggf. bei den Doppelbetten auch getrennte Decken statt einer großen oder bei Bedarf weitere Kissen bereitzustellen.

Wir kennen Tragumna bereits viele Jahre. Daher wussten wir was uns erwartet. Nur die Unterkunft war neu. Alles was man benötigt ist vorhanden. Der Blick von der Terrasse auf die Bucht ist jedes Mal eine Wucht. Wir lieben es. Der Kamin erledigt seine Aufgabe hervorragend und lässt auch mal einen verregneten Tag mit einem guten Buch in der Hand und einem Glas Guiness die Zeit vertreiben. Es gibt nur kleine Anmerkungen, welche ich dem Eigentümer bereits vorab mitgeteilt habe. Nice to have : In der kühleren Jahreszeit eine Wolldecke fehlte uns, bevor man die Heizung aufdreht Strom und Gaskosten beliefen sich in einer Woche 62 € zusätzlich.

The whole process was simple. House was really clean and tidy and comfortable. Ideal get away location. Lovely pub beside the property and an excellent beach with lifeguards within short walking distance. Hope to return when time allows.
