  • Enjoying panoramic views, this sympathetically converted barn is outstandingly comfortable, with ornamental brick fireplace in the living room and is ideally placed for relaxing or exploring. Set in 50 acres of grounds which boast a wealth of wildlife, it is close to the owners home, enjoying its own small garden and patio. The delightful market town of Shipston on Stour (1 mile away) offers shops and an excellent choice of inns and restaurants, Shakespeare's Stratford and the village of Chipping Campden are both within 20 minutes by car. Warwick Castle, Stow-on-the-Wold and NT properties are also nearby. Whilst the cottage has a quiet, rural setting, it benefits from a Fibre broadband internet connection to keep guests “connected”.

This is a peaceful place to stay, safe and easy to park. Beautiful views of countryside yet minutes from Shipston on Stour. We would stay again

very nice position overlooking fields and countryside on a farm. The only fault we could find good do with a larger TV and also a heated towel rail otherwise everything fine.

Great place to stay

We had a lovely week here - it's a splendid, quiet, comfortable place to stay, with a most helpful and friendly host. The owners are just around the corner if needed but the cottage is completely self-contained and private. It has all the equipment we needed and more and even had sufficient power points!

Cotswold escape

The setting is wonderful, quiet and private. One level living is great for those us us with ‘old’ knees. Well equipped and great shower lots of information on the area available in the cottage. Would recommend.

This property in in a very central location for exploring the Cotswolds and surrounding area. It is in a peaceful location about a mile or so to the east of the pretty town of Shipston-on-Stour. The property is very secluded and secure and is on a sheep farm. Tom's cottage had been beautifully converted from a barn/outbuildings into a lovely character cottage with many original features - beams etc. There is parking right outside. We were met by Tom who showed us the property and explained various procedures, and apart from then we didn't see him again although we thought we saw him on a few occasions driving his tractor through the adjacent field. That said, Tom was readily contactable by mobile. The cottage itself was presented very clean and welcoming. There is a spacious lounge/kitchen area (very well equipped with dishwasher and fridge) and the lounge area had two (quite low) sofas facing a large inglenook fireplace - containing an 'electric' wood burner. The bathroom contains toilet, bath and 2 showers - one in a cubicle and one above the bath. There is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. At the end of the corridor is a washing machine. The central heating was very effective. From the double entry doors and patio area there is a lovely view out over the fields to the surrounding hills. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property and at some point in the future we may return. Thank you Tom.

A gem of a place

I rented this property for my elderly parents as they were visiting me. They thoroughly enjoyed it and said they would stay again. They are in their mid to late 70's.

Relaxing, peaceful lovely views

Host very friendly, showed us around garden area when we first arrived, including showing us Hercules , a baby lamb abandoned by its mum so being hand reared by them, then left us to our own devices but where near by if needed. Accomodation was lovely with great views, and visits from all kinds of birds and rabbits and hares and we even seen deers on a couple of occasions . The local village has a handfull of shops and plenty of places to go for an evening meal. Stratford upon Avon and Banbury nice places for a visit. Also the car museum was a great day out. We will be back.

Perfect retreat

A lovely cottage set off the main road with great views over the fields. A truly peaceful retreat. Cottage was warm and comfortable. Great to have our own space whilst visiting family in the area. We hope to come back soon.

Peaceful space - just what I needed

Nature at its best, surrounded by green, birds singing, got to see a new born lamb, rabbits and a deer walking walk... I felt safe, internet was great too for my work!! Thank you Tom, loved being here and shall be back... perfect and peaceful!
