Bear Den-Secluded 2 Bedroom Cabin Located in the Hiawatha National Forest.

  • Welcome to the middle of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Hiawatha National Forest. This newly remodeled cabin can sleep 5 comfortably with two bedrooms; one with a queen bed, the other a bunk with full and twin size beds, one full bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen to start your day off with a coffee and make any meal of the day, as well as a living room complete with a working fireplace and television with dvd player. Behind the home you will find a firepit and a picnic table, roast marshmallows and enjoy the view of the lake. In front of the home there is a standing charcoal grill for guests to use. This cabin is located between Munising and Grand Marais on the scenic drive of H-58 along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore as well as being located on the ATV and Snowmobile Trails so you can leave right from the cabin. There is parking in the driveway for trailers but no room to turn around so you would have to back in or out. However, we do have the bottom of the driveway plowed out as well for easier trailer parking.
    Hike around and see the sites all day then come home to your own cabin in the woods where you can grill out on the deck overlooking the lake and roast marshmallows over the bonfire listening to the loons at night. Please note **This cabin is located in the Hiawatha National Forest, in the woods, where there are animals and critters. You may see a mouse or a spider in the cabin during your stay. We do everything we can to disinfect, clean and prevent any critters from accessing the cabin. However, we cannot guarantee Mickey Mouse won't peak around the corner and say hello. Also, a new water filtration system has been installed. It reprograms/flushes every 500 gallons which can be very loud and disturbing for about an hour.

    ***There is a doorbell camera mounted at the entryway outside.

    ***Door code will be released the day of check-in for security purposes.

    ***If you are booking through Airbnb or VRBO you will receive a separate contract from Pictured Rocks Vacation Rentals. In order to receive check-in information you will be required to sign this.

Cozy cabin tucked away in the UP on the lake and away from neighbors. A wonderful experience i will not soon forget and will visit repeatedly going foward. Cant wait to return!

Very clean with a beautiful view! You have access to many hiking trails and the town of Munising has many attractions. If you are looking to launch a boat off of the lake, this cabin does not have a boat launch/deck. Other than this, our stay was wonderful!

The bear cabin

It was very clean and comfortable and easy access. Our timing wasn't the best, we came when the mosquitoes thought they were having a festival. So we couldn't enjoy the outdoors. Overall we really enjoyed our stay hopefully we'll be back.

We were looking for a place to get away from it all and Bears Den was it. Property manager Sabrina made us very comfortable with check in, check out, and any questions we had along the way. We really appreciated the purified water dispenser as the well water in this region is very heavy in iron

This cabin was in a great location, reasonably close to all the things we wanted to see/do in the UP during a 3 day stay. Mind you, nothing in the UP is real close. The cabin was very comfortable and clean and had everything that we needed. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been a screened porch. There is a pleasant view of the lake in the distance (not accessible) but it is way too buggy to sit on the deck, even with bug spray.

Peaceful cabin

Very lovely cabin in middle of woods. Head up that you cannot easily access the lake- marshy. We intended to fish at cabin but did not realize there was no path to the lake. Only complaint: very very bad mosquitos. Could not enjoy the outside at all due to extreme mosquitos.
