Dog-Friendly Log Home On Fox River IL Near Starved Rock, Porch, Deck, Firepit

Woodhaven Cabin is a charming, newly upgraded log cabin getaway in the woods overlooking the Fox River in historic Glen Park, Sheridan IL. Open kitchen, dining, living room area with stone fireplace. Up to 4 adults and 2 children will sleep comfortably in two upstairs bedrooms plus downstairs den with double sleeper sofa, two full bathrooms.

Front porch with rocking chairs and views of the Fox River, rear deck with grill and fire pit area surrounded by woods. Dogs welcome, wheelchair accessible (call for limitations). Serene location just 65 miles SW of Chicago. 25-35 minute drive to Starved Rock/Matthieson, Dayton Bluffs, Sky Dive Chicago, Norway indoor waterpark, downtown Ottawa and Illinois River.

We are following CDC guidelines and Vrbo best practices for cleaning and sanitizing, including allowing at least 24 hours between reservations.

Peaceful and serene location just off the Fox River toward the end of a dead end lane and surrounded by trees. Just what we needed at the end of our busy days. The cabin is quaint and cozy with plenty of room for the entire group to both be together or find a place to cozy up with a book. We didn’t need for anything as the hosts supplied adequate essentials. Cleanliness is a top priority for our family and this home sparkled.

Great weekend getaway from the city! Super dog friendly, spacious bedrooms for their crates. Well stocked kitchen for cooking. Walking distance from Fox Hollow River Tubing! The host was easy to contact and very welcoming. We even found an N64! Overall an incredible birthday weekend.

Incredible cabin with drivable access to lovely places! We will be staying again! Brilliant hosts who are more than happy to answer questions and send along suggestions on their favourite places to go. Only thing we didn’t realize from the listing was that it wasn’t on the river- but that ended up not really mattering because it was such a lovely and comfy place to stay. Highly recommended!!

The cabin was outfitted with everything you would need. It was spotless and decorated very nice. The front porch was covered so we could even sit out there in the rain. We enjoyed the hummingbirds and wrens. The back port was smaller but still big enough for 4 chairs. The firepit was great. It was situated on brick pavers so bugs were at a minimun. We did expect more outside privacy but no one bothered us. In fact, the neighbor across the street helped us get in the cabin.In out opinion, the only downside was the inside stairs to the bedrooms. The stairs were steep and made from split logs. Since we were all seniors they were a challenge but we took them slow and made full advantage of each trip up or down.Overall, the cabin was great and the owners were extremely helpful.

This is our second time staying at this cabin and each time we have now left wishing we had been able to stay longer! The cabin is charming and oh so comfortable! Great cabin as pictured and only 2 hours from Chicago and 30 minutes to Starved Rock. In a quiet rental property community on Fox River. Would definitely stay again! Only minor issues were slow wifi and dvd player not working.

Home away from Home

Our trip back to our roots to be with family over the Thanksgiving holiday was just what we hoped for! The cabin was spacious, tidy and cozy. Our pups loved watching out the back door at the family of deer that welcomed us one morning. Morning coffee and checkers by a fire each morning with our adult son’s was special. The neighborhood was quiet and private. It was a bit cold to sit outside, but look forward to that next time. Thank you for letting us stay! The Holt’s

woodsy get away

This large but cozy cabin is made for get aways - where one wants to in the woods but near lots of things to do! Plenty of sitting areas for entertainment, wifi works perfectly and the fireplace is ready to go! The water temp and pressure is great (which is a big deal for me). The house sits a bit on a hill, so was very private even though there are a few other homes on the dead on road. Cannot express enough how much we enjoyed our stay!
