Claims to Be 5-Star, But Feels Like a 3-Star Resort in reality. Naama Bay Promenade *Mountain Side* is advertised as a luxury 5-star resort, but it feels more like a budget 3-star hotel pretending to be something it’s not.
The food was repetitive and bland, clearly aimed at large tour groups. If you’re not on one of those packages, you’re out of luck. Worst part? You have to pay extra for a Coca-Cola—even though it’s supposed to be all-inclusive. That’s just cheap.
The air conditioning in my room barely worked, and despite complaining, nothing was done. I spent nights sweating in a room full of mosquitoes. On top of that, the Wi-Fi was useless—constantly disconnecting and making it impossible to get any work done.
The setup is also a mess. The “mountain side” is across a busy road from the beach, and you have to cross through a security gate every time. They even blocked my taxi from entering, so I had to walk the rest of the way with a torn meniscus. Completely unacceptable.
To be fair, the staff are doing what they can—they’re clearly overworked. The problem is the management and the false advertising.
Bottom line: This is NOT a 5-star resort. It’s a mediocre, outdated 3-star hotel with extra charges, broken amenities, and a frustrating layout. I wouldn’t stay here again if it were free.
