Welcome to Oak Ridge Retreat. Our chalet is set on a 4 acre property with access to hundreds of acres of forest with trails through oak, maple and evergreen trees set on granite hills. Our chalet provides an opportunity to get away from it all. Our guests are saying that the cottage is a serene space and allowed them to focus on their family and nature.
Discover multiple nature lakes with an abundance of wild life. Bring your snowmobiles and explore the local groomed trails part of the Ontario network of snowmobile trails. Skiing is your hobby, experience the pristine hills of Mount Saint Louis Moonstone. In the winter we provide snowshoes and snow saucers. At Christmas the house is decorated and boasts a 15 ft tree. Come in from playtime outdoors to a comforting fire, soothing sauna, hot tub and refreshing jacuzzi bath. Enjoy cooking in the fully stocked kitchen with double oven, island food prep area, Keurig coffee maker and expansive views. At Christmas we frovide a 15 ft Christmas tree. In Winter we provide snow shoes and snow saucers. The 70 inch tv with unlimited wifi, stereo system in the great room with soaring windows offers a relaxing atmosphere that brings the beautiful outdoors into the warm space. The house is serviced by a sophisticated air filtration system ideal for allergy sufferers. The house provides central air conditioning and full laundry facilities. The Coldwater area boasts Geocaching, Big Chute Marine Railway, local museums, bowling, escape room and a variety of sumptuous restaurants, antique and gift shops. Coldwater is located 15 minutes from the City of Orillia with a full hospital, restaurants, (Tim Hortons) and plenty of shopping. Bring your friends and your pooch and enjoy. Maximum of 10 guests per booking.

The house is very well maintained with beautiful rustic decor. The atmosphere was very inviting from the time you drove up the driveway to having all the amenities of feeling like home away from home. The host was very friendly and very quick to assist and answer questions as they came up.

We had a fantastic week despite the weather which we couldn't control. So much to do at the cottage which was awesome.Property was beautiful. Cottage was cozy. More memories created this week. The dogs were so happy to spend time together and with their families. Listing link directions took us to a different property along the same road. I had to call the others to make sure they didn’t make the same mistake. May need to update amenities on listing as we had brought items supplied but weren't listed. A well equipped cottage for sure. We can’t wait to do it all over again :)Thanks again Patricia

Excellent Stay

Lovely Get Away

The secluded cottage has room for activities indoors and out woth uiking trails and other activities about a 20 min drive away. We had a really great time the hosts were resposive and helpful. We had a great trip.

Lovely property outside Coldwater

We had a great time staying at this place. Lovely property, amazing house, and fun times. The hot tub was very great, and instructions for use of the hot tub, were super clear. We spent time golfing nearby and ventured down to the casino (always put it on red). A bit of a drive to the casino, but eh, the place was nice. Place came stocked with so many games that we really enjoyed.

Had a wonderful time here and Pat was a fantastic host. The area is beautiful and the walks along the trails were perfect for us and our dog. The kitchen was excellent! Had everything we needed to prep the food we brought with us. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all clean and comfortable. There are tons of games to play and an excellent stereo and massive television as well. The hot tub and sauna were a great bonus too. Would very much recommend a stay here! Thank you so much!

Family Day Fun!

We had a group of 8 (6 adults and two boys age 8) staying at this cottage and we had such fun and relaxation. The cottage was fully stocked with everything you could need. The place was clean and full of light and uplifting messages throughout the home. We enjoyed the sauna and hot tub and we were given thorough instructions on how to use both as well as the wood burning stove in the basement. The beds were comfortable and the boys loved the tub with jets. We went for a hike every day in the back and the boys enjoyed sledding. The large TV was a huge bonus for those of us wanting to watch the Leafs play. Great experience overall and we plan on booking again next year. Thanks so much. The host was very available to us and responded right away with any questions. The basement gets a bit cold but there were plenty of blankets and access to the thermostat to heat up the place. Five stars!

Winter wonderland getaway

Our family of 7 adults had an incredible winter weekend escape at this beautiful property to celebrate our daughter’s 30th birthday and it couldn’t have been better. Patricia was so kind and accommodating and the home is not only equipped with everything a family could want or need but beautifully decorated and so cozy! I can’t imagine a better set up for making magical memories with family or friends.

Girls’ weekend

Second annual girls’ weekend getaway to the cabin in the woods. Pat is easy to communicate with and responds very quickly. Space was clean and expertly decorated for the season. Many of us talked about the face that the layout of the space is one of our dreams. Kitchen window overlooking the backyard while doing dishes- makes the dishes not so bad to do! Thanks again- already looking forward to next year!

Beautiful home. Sleeping arrangements perfect for 6 adults, 3 school age kids. All had their own bed. Decorated BEAUTIFULLY for Christmas. Fun games. Large family rooms and kitchen. Stocked fully.

We were a group of 8 retired adults who had the privilege of spending a weekend in this absolutely gorgeous home. Great communication - easy checkin - fabulous space. The hosts have gone above and beyond to make this property feel like you're staying in a 5* hotel. Highly recommend it!

The pictures do not do the property justice! Not only is the house immaculately presented, the location is stunning. Coldwater is such a pleasant small town. Pat is brilliant, too. She was always quick to answer all my questions. Will definitely be staying again!

Lovely, cozy home

Patricia was fantastic and so responsive. A great host. The home was so well serviced and there was nothing more we could have wanted. We were work colleagues that were under the understanding that there were five separate beds, so the only challenge was that the fifth space was actually a click sofa in the downstairs rec room which was a bit of a challenge for us.
