Make yourself at home with a fully functional kitchenette, laundry access, working space, and the comfort and cleanliness of a new build. Walk to trendy Ballard breweries, coffee shops, and restaurants, or take the 28 bus route directly downtown.

My name is Henry, and I am here to help make your stay great!

The space:
Welcome to Whittier Heights, Ballard. We fell in love with this neighborhood because of its walkability, neighborhood feel, history, and proximity to downtown Ballard and Seattle.

Your private basement suite, with 1 bedroom, spacious living room, kitchen, and bathroom have been thoughtfully designed for your comfort. Guests love the massive couch, 70 inch TV, and beautiful kitchenette, bathroom, and laundry tile hand laid by me, the owner of your stay! Visitors also appreciate the cozy robes, hypoallergenic space, and complementary coffee and popcorn. Yum! There is also a shared laundry access at no additional cost.

Keep in mind, the basement has low ceilings, anywhere from 6ft 5in to 7ft, but is bright and well lit. Additionally, our family lives above the suite, so expect to hear footsteps or see us in the shared laundry room or outdoor space.

Guest access:
You'll be able to access the entire basement of our home through a shared back door entrance located in the backyard. Facing the house, take the path on the right hand side through the gate, then into the backyard, where you will find a stairwell into your unit.

We are located about 5 miles north of downtown Seattle, in the heart of North Ballard, and about 15 miles north of SeaTac Airport. The nearest intersection is 75th Ave and Dibble Ave NW, which is 1 block away from the 28 bus route which goes directly downtown.

By car, we are about 15 minutes from downtown and about 30 minutes from the airport. By light rail and/or bus, we are about 20 minutes from downtown and about 60-75 minutes from the airport.

Other things to note:
I am a native of Seattle and a pro when it comes to do's and dont's around the city. If you'd like some recommendations or guidance, I'm happy to chat over coffee during your stay.

Clean, comfortable space. Nicely designed and well-stocked. This is a basement apartment under a family dwelling, so when they’re home you can hear the family moving around and muffled conversation - but not at night when you’d normally be trying to sleep. Slab beneath wall to wall carpeting is a little uneven, but not a hazard. Convenient location for purposes of my trip to Seattle. I’d try to book again if the space was available next time I’m in town.

Beautiful space

This was a beautifully designed, clean and very comfortable space that was the perfect place for my stay to visit my daughter in Ballard, about a 5min drive away. Public transportation from the airport was simple and close. Host was friendly. Like all basement apartments there was upstairs noise but quieter than most. Highly recommended.

Basements are for heavy sleepers lol!

Such a cute basement space! The only minor complaint is my husband and I are light sleepers, so the sounds from upstairs was noticeable to us. Which is to be expected in a basement. Also, my husband is a bit unstable on his feet when he gets up from sitting because of his blood pressure meds, so the uneven floors did mess with him a bit. Would these things keep us from choosing this place again, most definitely not. Very nice place and a great neighborhood. We had no trouble finding parking.
