Welcome to Castlehaven, our beautiful light-filled haven designed by noted local architect Bob Hartstock. Just a two minute walk from the Scenic Bluff Top Trail and Salal Cove, our house is located in the desirable north end of Sea Ranch. We are only a mile from the charming town of Gualala.

This lovingly and beautifully decorated home includes original artwork by a local artist, a private office, 2 master suite bedrooms, plus a private guest bedroom and 2 1/2 baths. The open living room borders on a dining area that seats 4, a music nook with a baby grand piano, and a fully-equipped kitchen with bar implements and glassware.

Outside in our spacious and private courtyard, you will enjoy outdoor dining, access to a BBQ, and a wonderful, soothing hot tub with a view of the night skies. Wildlife is abundant here. Wake to the sounds of the Ocean, and enjoy seeing birds, deer and fox right outside your window, and from the front patio.

The first master suite has French doors leading to a lovely private garden, and a large, heart-shaped Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The second master has a gorgeous view of the golf course and the ocean beyond. The third bedroom is a very private haven separate from the main house, across the courtyard from the hot tub. All bedrooms have queen size beds with memory foam mattresses. A washer and dryer are available, including soaps, and fabric softeners.

For our guest's enjoyment, we have a huge selection of books, movies on DVD, CDs, "streaming" TV, DirecTV and board games to while away your time when you are relaxing after being immersed in nature and all the activities of Sea Ranch. Please be aware that the fireplaces are non-functional because of problems with smoke and soot. Besides the Bluff Top Trail, there are three recreation centers with heated swimming pools, saunas, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, 50+ miles of hiking trails, mountain biking trails, beautiful coastal views and hidden waterfalls. All this awaits you here at Castlehaven.

Beautiful home just a 2-minute walk from the bluff trail and with views of the sunset from the huge living room windows. The kitchen, unlike many at Sea Ranch, is well equipped for cooking and the hot tub was a welcome respite from the day's hiking. John was super responsive and a great host. Highly recommended.

Our host was very responsive and helpful, and check in and out was a very straightforward. The house is located in a great spot (close the bluff trail for an easy walk to cliffs to watch the sunsets and hiking) on the north side of Sea Ranch - and a short drive to the Lodge and even closer to Gualala, and only one hour to Mendocino on Highway 1. The house and all the amenities were in working order and we very much enjoyed our stay!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sea Ranch, spending our time hiking the nearby trails and playing golf on the recently re-opened course. Ocean views, beautiful weather and a clean and comfortable home with plenty of room to spread out, made our stay very relaxing. We were conveniently located to both Gualala and the Sea Ranch Lodge. Our host, John, was quick to respond to any questions we had.

Lovely location and nice views. Hot tub was perfect temperature. Very nice dining area. Direct TV did not work but we informed the host and that was just a minor inconvenience. Overall, we had a great time and loved the fact that it was only a few minutes from Gualala.

Coastal perfection!

This was a perfect place to spend a few days in July! The weather was amazing and the walk along the bluff trail occupied most of our days. We saw so much wildlife! The house itself has beautiful architecture, spacious places to unwind and read/relax, and of course the hot tub. The beds were comfy with soft linens. About 4 minutes drive away there is Surf Market that supplies anything you could hope to cook. John was easy to communicate with and the check-in/check-out was well organized and easy to understand. We can’t wait to find a time to return!

Poor responsiveness from owner

The place was a beautiful place to stay but when we got there my daughter found four spiders in her bed as well as other unidentifiable bugs in her bed and refused to sleep in that room. The oven did not work and only one burner worked which made it very difficult for cooking. The location is spectacular but would have appreciated everything clean and in working order.

Idyllic stay

The property was just as advertised and a lovely getaway for us for two nights. The access to coastal walks was a breeze and gorgeous, and the proximity to what we wanted to e plots was exactly as described. Castlehaven is a slice of heaven

My husband and I, along with his sister and her husband just had a fabulous weekend at Castlehaven. The architecture of the home itself is quite unique. Add the perfect Sea Ranch location, two ensuite bedrooms in the house (there is also a third bedroom that we did not use), well equiped kitchen, hot tub -- all 5 minutes from the Bluff Trail, and it is truly a special place. Communication with our host was quite easy and check out a dream. We hope to return!
