  • Welcome to Lupine, a classic Don Jacobs-designed Sea Ranch retreat inspired by the philosophy of Living Lightly on the Land. Set against a wide, peaceful meadow with glimpses of the Pacific, this single-level home offers a cozy connection to nature and an easygoing coastal escape.

    Watch deer graze from the long window seat, gather around the wood-burning fireplace for a movie night, or unwind in the private hot tub beneath a sky filled with stars. With an open-concept layout and comfortable spaces for up to six guests, Lupine House is a wonderful choice for couples, families, or friends looking to slow down and reconnect.

    Recreation Passes:
    Per The Sea Ranch Association rules, we provide 2 recreation passes per rental. Each pass can accommodate up to 6 people when fully completed. If you need additional passes beyond the 2 provided, day passes are available for $5 per person, per day at the pool kiosk or the Sea Ranch Association office.

    ​​​​​​​PLEASE NOTE: After your booking is confirmed, all guests are required to complete and sign the rental agreement before arrival. Additional information and instructions will be provided after booking.

    Sea Ranch and Sonoma County Guidelines
    Drones are strictly prohibited in The Sea Ranch.
    Quiet hours must be observed between 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM every day.
    No outdoor amplified sound is allowed at any time, day or night.
    Maximum of 3 vehicles are permitted at the home and must be parked in the driveway. No RVs are permitted.
    Maximum occupancy is 6 guests for this home.

Beautiful Older Sea Ranch Home

We had a great time at the Lupine house! With a two minute walk down to the beach or to the playground or to see the seals- this house is ideal! :)

Reviewer Comments: We’ve been going to Sea Ranch for over 40 years and always rent through Beach Rentals because they are friendly, knowledgable and there when you need them. When we had trouble with the TV they sent someone over right away. We love Lupine house because it’s small but comfortable, efficient, full of light, close to our favorite beaches and walks.

Reviewer Comments: Hi--- We enjoyed our stay very much although we were very disappointed that again we were not able to access the deck because of a faulty lock set on the access door. If this is not remedied we would reconsider our choosing to stay in this house again. Other than for this issue we were generally happy about our experience.Last year ,I remember,there was a compensation for the loss of use of the deck area. Perhaps this could be considered also for this year.Best,Ron Heglin

We enjoyed morning coffee on the deck every morning and a sky full of stars from the hot tub at night. We took advantage of the many trails around Sea Ranch as well. Very quiet and private and a great place to relax and get away from it all!

Relaxing at Sea Ranch

This property is more of a budget option for the area, but a good one. The bones are wonderful, the decor/ furniture does not entirely match the era of the development of the sea ranch which is a disappointment, but it is cozy and will provide all that one might need. The space was clean and overall a great place for a family vacation.

Unfortunately it needs a refresh badly — the window seat, couch, and master bed are long past their lifespans. With some updates, we hope to keep staying here for years to come!

Great Location - Mediocre Accommodation

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: On the positive side, Lupine is an easy walk to the Sea Ranch Ocean trail. It has a great picture window view of a meadow and some blue water in the distance. Beach Rental outfitted the house generously with essentials. The hot tub is well situated and easy to access. On the negative side, the house is tiny; there is no pantry. It's a one-and-a-half-person kitchen, at best. It has not been updated, I suspect, ever. Liquid dripped on our heads from the leaking transom over the toilet in the front bedroom. The beds were mushy and lumpy. To watch TV, we had to pivot the old and heavy hide-a-way bed couch ninety degrees. We rented this house at the last minute because there were not a lot of choices. The internet went out several times a day; it was pokey at best, challenging to work here. Bottom line, if you don't mind dingy, this home is for you. I recommend The Vue restaurant in Gualala for fresh California cuisine. I would not rent this home again.

It's a good location, close to rec centers, close to town, close to bluffs. Nice hot tub. Good stargazing.
