NEW TO VRBO! -Perfect for groups! Stay in both floors of our legendary 1848 home—once home to Savannah’s “party sister,” Myrle. This 4BR, 3BA setup includes two full apartments, each with kitchens, living rooms, porches, and vintage charm. Just 2 blocks from Forsyth Park. Clean, comfy, and full of Southern soul. Some say the sisters still play tricks—but we’ll let you decide.
Welcome to the left-side townhouse at The Dueling Sisters Inn — a spacious, story-soaked Savannah home built in 1848 and once the heart of the city's most legendary sibling rivalry. With **four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two kitchens, porches on both levels, and a private courtyard**, this entire home is yours — the perfect setup for group getaways, wedding weekends, family retreats, or girls' trips filled with porch wine and laughter.
The home was originally gifted by a wealthy cotton merchant to his twin daughters, Mildred and Myrle. Rather than choose a favorite, he built them **two identical townhouses, side by side**, so neither could claim the better half. Mildred, the older by three minutes, was known for her quiet routines, impressive baking skills, and merciless judgments — all served with a side of tea and rose garden pride. Myrle, who claimed the left side of the house, was the spirited sister — known for her porch parties, champagne habits, and scandalous serenades drifting out into the night air.
Today, guests staying on the left side still feel echoes of Myrle’s warmth and flair. The home now consists of two fully separate floors, each with its own entrance, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living spaces — ideal for groups who want to be together but still enjoy privacy and flexibility.
Upstairs, you'll find two queen bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, a full kitchen, a cozy living room, and a lovely front porch perfect for morning coffee or late-night toasts. Downstairs offers two more queen bedrooms, a full bathroom, a second kitchen and dining area, a screened-in front porch, and direct access to the shared fenced courtyard, where laughter still seems to linger.
The home features original hardwood floors, vintage details, central air and heat, fast Wi-Fi, and flat screen TVs and living space.
It’s not new or fancy — it’s historic and full of character. You may notice a creaky floorboard or a slightly stubborn door, but that’s all part of the charm. It’s clean, comfortable, and full of Southern soul.
Some guests swear Myrle still visits — a flicker of light here, a missing sock there, or the faintest trace of gardenia and gin. We make no promises… but we do suggest keeping her happy with good company and a little something left on the porch.
Your stay is cared for by Miss Stacy, our beloved housekeeper and part-time ghost negotiator. She’s been with us for years and takes great pride in keeping the home tidy and welcoming — despite Myrle’s occasional pranks. She may stop by to restock supplies, but otherwise, you'll have full privacy and space to enjoy.
The home is located just two blocks from Forsyth Park, on a quiet, oak-shaded street in Savannah’s Historic District. You’re within easy walking distance to coffee shops, boutiques, brunch spots, and some of the city’s best bars and historic squares. Whether you're looking to explore the sights or simply relax with your group in a place that feels like a true Savannah storybook, this is your home base.
Stay where the wild sister once lived, where secrets were shared over champagne, and where porches still invite long, easy conversations. Come for the space, stay for the soul — and maybe, just maybe, feel the sisters watching with a smile.
Guests have private access to the entire left-side townhouse, including both upper and lower floors. Each level has its own entrance, two bedrooms, a full kitchen, living area, and bathrooms — perfect for groups who want to stay together with room to spread out.
You’ll also enjoy access to the screened-in front porch, upper balcony, and the shared courtyard, where stories, secrets, and more than a few champagne toasts have echoed over the years.
Free street parking is typically available just outside the home. You'll have the place to yourselves, with no shared interior spaces.
We give our guests plenty of space to enjoy the home, but we’re just a message away if you need anything — whether it’s an extra towel, a dinner recommendation, or help figuring out the thermostat (it’s old, like everything else here).
You may also spot Miss Stacy, our longtime housekeeper and unofficial innkeeper. She stops by now and then to check supplies and occasionally scold the ghost of Myrle for hiding her cleaning rags. Otherwise, the home is entirely yours to enjoy.
This home was built in 1848 and proudly shows her age. You’ll find creaky floors, quirky doors, and the occasional stubborn window. She’s not perfect — but she’s clean, comfy, and full of character.
If you’re looking for sleek and modern, this may not be your match. But if you love vintage charm and a good story, you’ll feel right at home.
Some guests say the sisters still play little tricks — a flickering light, a moved towel, a whiff of gardenia perfume on the porch. We can’t confirm anything… but we recommend staying on their good side. Sharing your wine doesn’t hurt.
We happily welcome pets with a $100 pet cleaning fee. Please keep furry friends off the furniture and crated if left alone.
For stays longer than 30 days, guests will be billed separately for utilities based on actual usage.
