We stayed at the Birches Motel over the weekend since we were visiting Skidmore College and were looking for a more affordable option that was still close to Saratoga Springs and would be comfortable and clean. We were not disappointed at all and really enjoyed out stay! The room we stayed in was clean, comfortable, the staff were very helpful in adding new breakfast cards each morning. The location is excellent (only about a 10-minute drive into town) and we would definitely stay here again!

Nicely updated little motel with great location, clean rooms and a very accommodating owner. Remote check in was easy to use and the owner was nearby and always helpful and available for any concerns. The bed was comfortable and absolutely wonderful! The breakfast voucher for the nearby deli was awesome and the sandwiches there are delicious! Though it is an older property and obviously a work in progress, we enjoyed the stay. Location can’t be beat.

The property was clean and nicely decorated. We had some issues with the online check in process and a missing bathroom window shade, but we did have a pleasant nights sleep and the hotel was a convenient distance from Saratoga Race Track and Saratoga’s restaurants and shopping.

Room was cute, clean and conveniently located close to downtown & SPAC. The vouchers for breakfast at the 2 local eateries was a nice touch (the little diner next door was unassuming, but delicious!) We will definitely return next year for the DMB concert!

The bed was comfortable but the place could definitely benefit from a good cleaning! I think it had been awhile since the wood floors were mopped! I used a towel to wipe up water after my shower and let’s just say it was not white after that. The shower curtain was stained and shower needed a good scrubbing!

First and foremost I really enjoyed Jacob, he is a very kind gentleman and was very helpful. The room was nice, clean and zi enjoyed the corner room, it had all that we needed and petfect size for our short stay as we checked in after our visit to Grants Cottage. Took a breather before our dinner reservations at The Wishing Well which was a lovely place and fine food. The complimentary tickets Jacob gave us for the Mexican restaurant were an added bonus. If we go back in that direction I will definitely book another stay with Jacob at the Birches. The scenery was so pretty there with all the trees, I got some nice photos. Thank you for everything. Sincerely, Dawn T. Randall

I read the reviews Before I booked this motel. It had good reviews. Nice motel, redone rooms, clean, only 5 minutes from town. Contactless office. Everything done by email. They send you a code to open the door. It was easy. I would stay here again.

This is a nondescript road motel, but the rooms looked recently renovated — nicely decorated and bright. Very pleasant stay. Beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed for our one-night stop. There's no staff onsite, so they send your door code through the hotel booking portal. No breakfast onsite, but they include a voucher for a breakfast sandwich and coffee at the deli next door, which was filling and delicious. We were there during a concert weekend so hotel rates were very high (this place was one of the cheapest), but I'll keep it in mind for a future trip.

For a weekend stay, it worked out for me. The location is good, with plenty of stores/restaurants, etc.... nearby. It is a 10-minute ride to downtown Saratoga and the other places you generally visit while in that area. The room was 60% bed (it's a king), but I was barely in the room. The shower is fine, yes, the water pressure could be a little better. I did use a couple of the vouchers they leave for breakfast at spots you could walk to in 1-2 minutes. I'd stay again for a similar weekend trip.

No staff on site but reachable by phone. Very clean. Bed was ok but needed more pillows. Breakfast sandwiches and coffee at the nearby deli were very good. The only negative was the noise from adjoining room was significant. It is an older place with thin walls. Bring ear plugs if you want to sleep!
