Welcome to Tres Puertas (Three Doors) — a rare opportunity to stay in an authentic piece of Santa Fe history. This exceptional Territorial-style adobe home, built in the 1880s by Santa Fe County sheriff Juan Holmes, is a State of New Mexico–registered cultural property dating back to the days when the West was still wild. Lovingly preserved and beautifully renovated, Tres Puertas offers a timeless Santa Fe experience in an unbeatable downtown location just three blocks from the Santa Fe Plaza.

Inside, the home feels light, bright, and welcoming. High ceilings crown the inviting living room, anchored by a stunning kiva fireplace and thoughtfully curated artwork. Skylights illuminate the dining area and the well-appointed kitchen, which features new stainless-steel appliances, authentic Talavera tile, and everything you need to prepare and enjoy memorable meals at home.

The spacious primary suite is a peaceful retreat with a king-size bed, television, its own kiva fireplace, and a beautifully tiled bathroom with a walk-in shower. The guest bedroom offers a queen-size bed beneath traditional viga ceilings, a television, and a private bathroom with a tub/shower combination. Laundry facilities are conveniently located within the home. Throughout, you’ll find a blend of wood and Saltillo tile floors, along with air conditioning for year-round comfort.

Step outside to discover private, beautifully landscaped courtyards—quiet, spacious, and ideal for relaxing or entertaining. Comfortable outdoor furnishings, a gas grill, and a dining table set on classic brick pavers create the perfect setting for al fresco meals and evenings under the Santa Fe sky. The home spans over 1,579 square feet and includes two off-street parking spaces, a rare luxury this close to downtown.

Tres Puertas is tucked into an established historic neighborhood just northeast of the Plaza. Within a five-minute stroll, you’ll reach world-class dining, museums, original boutiques, and renowned art galleries. Canyon Road, famous for its adobe architecture and over 100 galleries in a half-mile stretch, is just a few blocks away. Seasonally, the Plaza hosts internationally celebrated events such as Indian Market and Spanish Market.

Outdoor adventure is always close at hand. The Santa Fe Ski Basin lies just 12 miles up the mountain, while nearby trails in the national forest offer hiking, biking, fishing, and stunning aspen-filled vistas. Lovely inviting home. Clean, kitchen extremely well stocked with everything you would need, wonderful floor plan, comfortable beds. The outdoor patio was peaceful to sit and enjoy the late afternoon/evening. Utilized the grill for meals. Location was perfect, close to the a square and a shot drive to other attractions.

A great spot, and amazing location!

Wow. Tres Puertas is really fantastic. Clean and comfortable, the location can't be beaten. A couple of short blocks to Santa Fe square, and a 15 minute walk to the galleries on Canyon. A private outdoor area is perfect for nice weather, and private parking with easy access makes this spot our favorite in Santa Fe. We'll be back!

Lovely stay in Santa Fe

This is our 3rd rental in Santa Fe and definitely our favorite. The house is beautiful and location is great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property.

Private, safe, Relaxing

Traveling with friends can sometimes make for crowded conditions. Not so at Tres Puertas We could be together or have time alone within the beautifully decorated home with all the amenities one could need. Tres Puertas is conveniently located to downtown and easily accessible to main roadways for travel. This is a great stay for anyone who wants to explore and learn about Georgia O’Keefe and enjoy the fine arts scene Highly recommend.

Lovely home near Santa Fe Plaza

The house is even nicer than the photos. It is a perfect vacation home for 2 couples. The beautiful kitchen and dining area are in the center of the home and there is a bedroom and bathroom on either side of the central portion so we had lots of privacy. The living room is lovingly decorated with lots of art work and artifacts. The dining area also feels like I'm in a gallery looking and all of the beautiful decorations and furniture in the room. The house is a 7 minute walk to restaurants and to the shops on the Plaza, and only a 3 minute drive to a Sprouts to buy food and a CVS right next door. My only suggestion is that there is only one kitchen towel. It would have been better if we had more. Otherwise this house is perfect!

Friends enjoying Santa Fe

Two of us travelled from the heat of the SW to spend a few days in cooler Santa Fe. We wanted to be able to walk to the Plaza, restaurants, shops and Canyon Road. We were able to from this location. The place was plenty spacious for the two of us. We were able to take in the Opera and the International Folk Festival. A starter of coffee would have been nice for the first morning and a couple more wash clothes. Other than that the unit had all we needed and more. Really enjoyed our 4 day stay.

Premium Walkable Location

This property is charming, has a great location that’s walkable to downtown or Canyon Road and at the same time feels private. I was lucky to have great weather and spent most of my time exploring downtown Santa Fe and the galleries of Canyon Road and my car didn’t have to leave the driveway. If you’re looking for a historic home with beautiful decor that’s close to the best that Santa Fe has to offer, this is it.

Lovely Santa Fe Stay!

This is a fabulous property. The floor plan is perfect for two couples. It is comfortable, beautifully appointed and full of interesting art. The location makes it very easy to get anywhere in Santa Fe. The property is professionally managed and they make you feel so welcome. Fresh flowers, welcome letter, and tourist info are on the dining table as you enter. We have stayed here twice and would love to stay again. The outside would be nice to enjoy but we have only been in cold weather so we enjoyed the fireplace instead!

Great place!

House was just as described, spacious and very pretty. Chairs and sofa very comfortable, ottomans to put up one's feet after a long day walking and lamps for reading. Beds very comfortable. Porch with rockers great for relaxing with a beer. The Plaza with shops and restaurants was close enough to walk. It was an awesome place to stay.

Tres Puertas in Santa Fe

We were pleasantly surprised by the completeness of the furnishings in both the whole house and the kitchen. The kitchen was as completely furnished as our home including a good variety of spices, dishes and cleaning supplies. The house was warm and cozy and close to downtown. If we come back to Santa Fe we will definitely want to stay here again.

Wonderful place, host not so much

This is an historic home in a marvelous location. It is beautifully appointed and was very comfortable in every aspect. However, I found the host to be pretty unfriendly and not easy to communicate with. The other person I spoke to at Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, however, was lovely.

Perfect!

My longtime college friend enjoyed our stay at Tres Puertas. The home was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The location allowed us to easily walk to the Plaza and Canyon Road and it was only a short drive to Museum Hill. We definitely would stay here again.

This casita is so comfortable and is beautifully decorated with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We have been to Santa Fe 15+ times, and Donna’s place was genuinely one of our favorites.

Great Location

Loved this place for our annual girls vacation. Easy walk to the Plaza and great outdoor area. Sofa bed needs replacing, it was really hard to pull out and put back together. I would stay at this place again.

The property was beautiful. The layout, the kitchen amenities, the decor, etc was all top notch! Clean and comfortable! Location was perfect! Walk to shops, restaurants, and other. I would stay here again and again.
