5 Minute Shortcut to the Beach with This Resort-like Pleasure Point House

We think you will fall in love with this perfect house (SCC Permit #221225, TOT Certificate VRAB00030) just steps from the beach. It is a 5-minute shortcut through the estuary to the Moran State beach. (Don't let VRBO confuse you... they calculate 12 minutes to the beach based on the streets, not the locals' shortcut.). This family-friendly 3br/2.5ba getaway has also been equipped for remote work (see below).

Our secluded, quiet street nestled up against the peaceful Moran County Park estuary is perfectly appointed for your comfort and enjoyment--a perfect change of scenery for families looking for a great getaway.

There are 3 bedrooms upstairs that sleep 8 (1 king in master, 1 queen in the guest room, and 2 sets of bunk beds in the 3rd room). There are 2.5 baths--two full upstairs and a half downstairs--plus an outdoor shower. The private master bath has two sinks, enclosed toilet and a rain shower. We provide all the linens--bed, bath and beach--and soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Hear the waves crash and enjoy the 360-degree views from the amazing rooftop deck that has 2 chaise lounges and relaxing seating for 8—a delight for sunrise coffee or wine and cheese at sunset.

The house is freshly updated with a beautiful remodeled open and well-equipped kitchen, a spacious family room with plenty of comfy seating, gas fireplace, large modern dining table, garage rec room, outdoor shower with hot water, a back patio with dining and lounge seating and BBQ, and two smart TVs with cable to make your vacation a dream. If you need to work while you are there, we have HDMI monitors on desks in the master and guest bedrooms. There is also a desk in the bunk room.

The house is well-located. It’s only a short stroll from the famed Pleasure Point surfing area. You can meander in the estuary, walk to shops and restaurants on 41st Ave or the quaint Capitola Village, or pop onto 26th Ave beach for surfing and long beach walks through Twin Lakes beach.

Perfect for families and adults, the house is stocked with plenty of games and puzzles and there is a supply of boogie boards, beach chairs, beach toys and a beach cart to get all the fun down to the beach! We have a porta crib, sheets for a babies and a portable stair gate for toddlers.

QUIET HOURS/PARTIES: As indicated above, this house is in a serene enclave which is part of the house’s wonderful charm. Per county code, QUIET HOURS for all Santa Cruz rentals in the Live Oak area are 10pm to 8am. We like to be considerate to our neighbors and we don’t like to turn folks away—we love all our guests. But if you are looking to have a boisterous party long into the night, please look for another property. Thank you for your understanding.

PARKING: Parking is limited. Only three cars may be associated with the rental of the house and only three cars can fit in the driveway. There is no available parking on our street.

Jon & Emilys house was the perfect place for our family get together. It was me, wife, a teenage boys, and my in laws. The beach is a 5 minute, had a very locals feeling, which was really nice. 10 minute walk to all typical the pleasure point surf spots. roof top deck was amazing..the garage was turned into an entertainment area, with lots of boogie boards and even a selection of wetsuits...This was probably the best vrbo experience I've had...We'll be back if they will take us. :)

Comfortable home with well-stocked kitchen and great location. It was a short and beautiful walk to the beach, and a longer beautiful walk along the ocean to downtown. Hosts were responsive and accommodating. Only drawback was the extensive checkout protocol that added a layer of complexity and stress to our final night/morning. The only feedback we have on the property is to add a nightlight or other safety measure to the hallway at the top of the stairs where there is an unexpected step down from each direction leading to the stairs. Several of us nearly fell more than once :-).

The house was very spacious, clean, and well stocked with all the essentials! My family and I stayed the weekend, and we were able to spend quality time together while enjoying home cooked meals. The beach was super close by and made for a relaxing morning stroll.

Lovely home with so many special touches. Plenty of bedroom space for all of us. Great extras to use such as boogie boards and wet suits. A great wagon to take lawn chairs to the beach was greatly appreciated. Great kitchen set up with all you need. Multiple patios to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery. Spacious, beautiful, and so close to the beach!

I stayed at Jon and Emily's house with a group of friends, and we had an absolute blast! The house is lovely, and fully stocked with everything we needed (kitchen, linens, beach supplies). We had plenty of space to lounge and sleep, and we loved hanging out on the patio and rooftop spaces. We really appreciated the folding chairs and wagon for easy and comfortable beach time. The walk to the beach was short and easy, so we wandered over there every day. The house is also close to Pleasure Point as well as downtown Santa Cruz, so you will not run out of things to do. We would absolutely love to come back someday!

Perfect location and home

This is our third time staying here and it could not have been better for our family. We walked to the beach every day, made yummy meals in the huge kitchen, and had plenty of room to spread out. One of our party had to work, and the desk in the primary bedroom along with the crow's nest became great work locations. The homeowner was extremely easy to work with. Hope to stay again soon!

All great. Only issue is it’s a bit of a fire drill to take showers and wash towels on check out day before 11. Should probably change the policy for more time or allow for used bath towels. ( no issue with beach towels being done the night before).

Loved it

This was a great place to stay. Plenty of beds, three toilets, and pet friendly. The owner was helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Just a short walk from an amazing beach and you could hear the waves pounding the shore at night. I would happily stay here again.

Fabulous place!

We had an amazing stay! Walked to the beach, pleasure point, and around the park everyday. Spent time up on the roof enjoying the sun. And hung out lots in the cozy living room.

Beautiful, Convenient Santa Cruz Home

We just stayed a week and our only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer. Located in an extremely quiet Pleasure Point neighborhood, only a short walk to the beach. The house was incredibly well stocked. In the unlikely event that I would be cooking (too many good restaurants in town!), we laughed that there were 6 different types of vinegar in the cabinet to choose from! Primary bedroom is a luxury, fireplace is divine, and the roof was a pleasant place to watch the sunset. Owner is responsive and helpful. This was a working holiday for us, so we appreciated the workstation and good wifi.

Beautiful Quiet Neighborhood

The hosts were very responsive and respectful. Our family came to town for a memorial and we were all able to gather at this beautiful home and take relaxing walks on the beach. The home was well equipped with everything we needed. The fireplace and fuzzy blankets made for cozy gatherings. I would highly recommend this home to others.

Great for families!

We were two families with two kids under 5 years old each. We had a great time. The kids loved the bunkbeds. Kitchen had everything we needed. Communication with owner was great before and during our stay. Location was perfect for our activities. It was close enough to Roaring Camp, Boardwalk, and quick walk for the beach.

Pleasure Point Beach House

This is an exceptional property. The house was very comfortable and well appointed, with nice finishes and furnishings throughout, and spotlessly clean.
