Welcome to your Schweitzer Mountain retreat! This cozy 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo offers mountain views and all the essentials for a fun-filled getaway. Perfect year-round, you’ll enjoy easy access to lifts, hiking and biking trails, and the village just 1/4 mile away. After a day of adventure, relax in the comfortable living room, cook in the fully equipped kitchen, or unwind in the spacious bedroom with a king bed. Whether skiing in winter or hiking in summer, this condo is your perfect four-season escape.

–Good to Know–
• AWD/4WD recommended during ski season
• We are pet friendly! 1 dog max, 15 lbs or under. Pet fee is $40/day (max $250 per stay)
• STR Permit #: VRP2021-0026
• Condo is on second floor accessed by stairs (no elevator). Stairs and parking lot can be icy. Please be careful.
• Parking is included for one vehicle.

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Well equipped condo

This rental is a very well equipped condo with good wifi, good tv, well equipped kitchen, good comfortable bed. Since our visit was during a hot week, my only wish was that I wish there was a window fan available to cool the unit down as the evening cooled outside. That said, I hope we can return next summer.

Clean and Cozy

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was clean and well supplied. Since there is no A/C ceiling fans would be a nice addition or at least space fans for guests to use. I recommend this condo but bring a fan along if it is in the warm part of the year.

Cozy base camp at the foot of Schweitzer

We loved our 4day stay at Black Bear condo! The weekend was busy with a Trail Running Fest. The 2 weekdays were really quiet at the resort. Like Switzerland without all the people. The condo is a 1/2 mile walk to Schweitzer Village. The furniture and linens were very comfortable. The only thing missing from the kitchen is a tea kettle. I recommend doing grocery shopping in Sandpoint before heading up to Schweitzer. The restaurants and market is limited, esp. in the spring/summer.

Helpful and Welcoming

The host was able to accommodate an early check in and parking for us during a very busy weekend at Schweitzer. The place was exactly as listed and totally met our expectations. The couch bed was surprisingly comfortable. We are looking forward to booking this property again in the future!

Great spot

Very walkable location. The St Bernard restaurant next door is a great spot to hang on the patio. Condo was clean and bed is comfy. The pots and pans have flaking Teflon and should be replaced and there was only a partial roll of TP with no replacement so we had to nab a roll at our expense.

Beautiful setting

Clean, easy to check in. Only problem was that a pull out couch was specified in listing (we had 2 teens) and i dont think that was a pullout. We tried everything. They slept on the couch- but it was very tight.

A few basic needs

There was no shower gel or bar soap for the bath/shower. That should be a required amenity. It would also be nice to have a small shampoo & conditioner . . . even the cheapest of hotels has that!!! The kitchen was very basic. I had to buy my own PAM to cook breakfast. There was no small skillet . . . in fact all the pots and pans were pretty weary and well-worn. A small fan would have been nice as it was 94 degrees outside and about 99 degrees inside with no cross breeze without leaving the front door wide open. It was HOT.

This condo had no working heaters in either the main room or the bedroom. The oven didn’t work either. When I arrived, the bathroom still had cleaning rags on the counter- and there was a soap in the sink that had hair from the previous renter!!! The VRBO manager did call maintenance but they were unable to fix the heaters. I had to ask for space heaters!! Deplorable! Especially with the fact it snowed for two days when I stayed at Schweitzer’s.

Awesome Spot!!

Cozy place in a beautiful location

The unit was clean and cozy. Tons of cooking ware and utensils and even spices which was great as most only come with salt and pepper at most. The location was absolutely breathtaking. We saw tons of wildlife every time we went up and down the mountain. Highly recommend this place. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay.

Perfect Fit

When we arrived, this unit was very neat and clean. It was also well-equipped (linens, pots & pans, dishes, etc.). We liked it. We read several reviews before signing up, including one that strongly criticized it. We can't agree with any of those complaints. We're seniors in our 70s. This is a fine rental for two people. We liked it.
