"Could not imagine a more wonderful stay. Hiking Hadrian’s wall and the Sally was a most wonderful stay. The food was incredible with great vegetarian and gluten free options. The rooms were large and comfortable with very comfortable beds, great water pressure, and all spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, all in a lovely little parish. I highly recommend staying at the Sally. "

"This is our second stay here as we loved it so much the first time. Warm welcome, beautiful grounds, gorgeous rooms in a traditional country mansion. There is a walk along the salmon river to the fishing hut before you return to the sitting room with a real fire and a G&T at the honesty bar.
We loved exploring the wildness of the walled garden with bee hives (you can buy the honey back in the house) and free range chickens and raspberry bushes laden with big, fat fruit!

"Absolutely amazing! We found this little gem quite by chance as a half way stop between Scotland and England! It was a fantastic experience and the charm of the 17th century building as well as the charming staff was absolutely perfect in every way. The food was incredible and quite unexpected! "

"Very welcoming reception from the host. We stayed for two nights and had a fantastic cooked breakfast each morning. My wife is coeliac and was well catered for. This B&B is ideally suited for the city centre, has close transport links and also provides on-street parking.
I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. "

"Lovely B&B. The building is grand and the rooms are big and airy. Free WiFi, iron and board, huge bathroom, dressing table with cotton wool balls etc Breakfast was lovely, full English, cereal, fruit and yoghurt nothing was too much trouble. If we are ever back in Carlisle we will stay here again 😊"
