Beautiful views…but needs lots of updating

Rio Mar property grounds are pristine! Amazing views from this location. The beach is a short distance away by car or a few minutes walk. Now the apartment itself…. We were not impressed with it. In pictures it looks great, not so much in person. The front door looks weathered. As you walk into the apartment the wood floors are warped from what appears to have been damaged by water. The Bathroom is very dated. The stairs appear to either be a handyman special or a DIY job. Each step is secured by what appears to be closet racks, 3 of them…. Bolted to the wall with boards screwed to them. We felt unsafe walking up the steps as they moved slightly under us and squeaked with every step we took. We did bring this up to the property manager who reassured us that they had jumped on each step and they were totally fine… If renting this place with small children you should think twice. Once up the steps you will find the bed which wasn’t very comfortable and also dated. Last but certainly not least the washer machine needs fixing too. Or a new one…. We put a load of clothes to wash and during the spin cycle the machine sounded like it was going to break. Bouncing and banging on the walls of the washer as our clothes spun. Scared the living daylights out of us. Good thing we really only came to the property to sleep and shower…. Bottom line the grounds of Rio Mar are beautiful, amazing views but this apartment needs help. Would I stay here in these conditions again? Absolutely Not!

Excellent location. Nice decoration

Only suggestion is to change the front door, is very hard to close. We had a delay in our ck in, at 4pm the apartment was not ready and had to wait 1.5 hours for the apartment to be clean. The battery for the front gate was not working, so the entrance to the Villa was difficult, since we had to wait for someone to open the gate for us. We notified the host but nothing was done. The rest was great
