We booked Gary’s place from December 25–30, 2025. The apartment was clean, attractive, and accurately reflected in the photos.Before booking, I asked Gary about having one additional guest for one night (my brother, who would drive us to the airport early the final day). He stated this was fine, as long as it was only one night, with no further disclosures or limitations shared. Later, we noticed the listing mentioned a 20/night fee for additional guests.After arrival—and after the cancellation deadline of December 12 had passed—we asked if my brother could stay two nights instead of one. Only then did Gary disclose that the apartment cannot accommodate more than four people due to water system limitations. This critical issue was not disclosed earlier, despite my initial inquiry about an extra guest. Had this been explained prior to the cancellation deadline, we would have cancelled the reservation.We were four adult women, active throughout the day, and reasonably expected normal water pressure and temperature. Gary explained the building was old and said we should be fine, adding that a Planet Fitness nearby could be used if needed. Wanting to avoid stress and enjoy our vacation, we proceeded.Unfortunately, the water problems were severe. Shower temperature was impossible to regulate, frequently becoming scalding hot to the point of pain. We had to shower in short bursts—turning the water off repeatedly to avoid burns. This unassuming building has at the top of its 6th floor walk up, a charming apartment, beautifully furnished and well maintained. The shower was a little tricky to navigate but we eventually got the nuances. I might suggest a teak stool for anyone who wishes to shave their legs. How do you roll your towels? So tidy!Location was easy to find, street parking within 2 blocks was always available. Asia de Lima restaurant is incredible!

Lovely Stay with Thoughtful Touches and Beautiful Scenery

This was my first time booking through Vrbo, and it was a great experience! The decor immediately caught my eye — clean, tropical, and full of character — and the price made it even more appealing. The space was fully stocked with everything we needed: pots, pans, seasonings, even sunscreen. There were helpful local recommendations posted on the wall, and the back patio had a beautiful view — peaceful and quiet, with no loud noise at all, which I really appreciated.The six flights of stairs were a challenge, especially with my sore ankle, but honestly, the view and overall comfort made it worth it. Parking was surprisingly easy, even late at night. We had minor issues with the Wi-Fi and showerhead, but Garry was extremely responsive — he texted, FaceTimed, and even flew back to Puerto Rico to make sure we were taken care of. He offered to relocate us if needed and was truly kind throughout.I’d definitely stay again or check out one of his other properties!

Beautiful and local

We had an amazing trip the home was just as described the locals were the sweetest. Everything was great house was clean no complaints make sure you read the description 6 flights of stairs no elevator but we had no problems with that just be aware. Thank you for everything Garry !

Adorable apartment just a short drive to many destinations

The apartment was exactly as described. Adorable, spacious with well stocked kitchen. My 19 year old daughter and I stayed here. Its location is in a local neighborhood - not in a touristy area, which we liked and it’s a short drive to Condado, old San Juan, and other areas. Everyone in the neighborhood we encountered was super friendly and there were always delicious smells of cooking in the hallway on the way up to the apt. It was perfect for what we were looking for. There is not a ton going on in the immediate area- a great coffee place right downstairs but limited restaurants, grocery within walking distance. We had a car so that was fine. Garry was very hospitable- stocked the fridge with drinks and snacks. We would rent here again!

Spacy but no elevator to the 6th floor

The location is good, a lot of restaurants nearby. Two bedrooms are large enough for 4 people family. While it is at 6th floor and no elevator which is inconvenient. No washing machine is another problem. The landlord is nice and easy to communicate.

Boho Style 2 Bed Condo in San Juan - Great Stay!

Staying at this property was great! Clean, spacious, and cozy. Garry was a great host - very timely responses, willing to address any questions/issues I had, and was just great overall! The location was convenient - walking distance to stores, restaurants, etc. The view of the sunset on the balcony was always perfect. I stayed for a whole month and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely stay again!

Puerto Rico Revisit

We used to live in Puerto Rico years ago. This apartment gives you the feel of the island and was conveniently located for our vacation needs. The 6th floor definitely worked our calves but helped keep off all the pounds from the wonderful food we ate.

Great Communication but just a tad misleading.

Garry was extremely nice and hospitable. However when it says unit is a walk up. It means 6 flights of steps. I just had knee surgery 3 weeks prior had i know i wouldnt have choosen his place. He was nice but each night i was in immense pain. Also it said there was a spa that would of helped some. However, there was no spa. I have no idea while that was in the bio. All in in all it was a good experience and because of Garry elite communications and willingness to make things right i still give him a 5 star review.

Great stay! Very clean with a great location.

Had a wonderful time at this VRBO. Was on the island visiting some friends who live nearby so it was a perfect find. Check-in and checkout was easy! Place is very clean and the AC is fantastic after a long day out in the sun.
