This secluded 2-bed, 2-bath A-frame sits above a canyon with sweeping views from Mission Valley to the Pacific. Soak in the private hot tub under the stars, relax in alpine-inspired comfort, and enjoy total privacy with no neighbors within 100 yards. Yet, you're just blocks from North Park's restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. The SeaBarn is a hidden escape with unbeatable city access—perfect for nature, nightlife, or total relaxation.


Bedrooms

Primary bedroom: Located in the upstairs loft featuring a spacious king-sized bed, ample closet space, and a queen-size futon that can be set up as a cozy couch or converted into an extra sleeping area for larger groups. This light-filled space also includes a private ensuite bathroom with a sleek walk-in shower.

2nd bedroom: The downstairs bedroom offers another king-sized bed and is designed for maximum privacy, complete with blackout blinds and curtains — perfect for sleeping in or winding down in total comfort.


Bathrooms

The upstairs bathroom is a full ensuite, featuring a modern walk-in shower and direct access from the loft bedroom for added privacy and convenience.

The downstairs bathroom is also a full bath, complete with a full-size bathtub — perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of exploring.


Kitchen & Living Room

You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen ready to inspire your culinary endeavors. Enjoy a meal at the eat-in kitchen counter and bar stools before heading out to explore the nearby attractions. The kitchen comes with all the cookware, dinnerware, and utensils you need. We have a drip coffee maker with complimentary coffee, sugar and creamer. We also provide salt, pepper and cooking oil.

The airy living room is blessed with large windows and open floor plan to invite in the warm San Diego Sunshine. The loft ceiling magnifies the sense of space. Sit back and relax on the comfortable couch and enjoy your favorite streaming services on the smart – an open subscription to HBO MAX is there for you to enjoy. In room mini-split A/C provides maximum comfort.

If you must work – the internet is the fastest residential service available – AT&T fiber-optic with download/upload speeds exceeding 500 Mb. Everyone can stream their own videos with ease.


Outdoor Oasis

The true highlight of The SeaBarn is its expansive outdoor space. With wraparound patios across multiple levels, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the valley, city lights, and even the Pacific Ocean right from the front porch.
Fire up the propane BBQ grill for a sunset dinner, challenge your crew to a game of corn hole on the side lawn, or cozy up around the propane fire pit as the stars come out. Whether you're stargazing through the telescope, watching the twinkling cityscape and passing trains below, or simply soaking in the quiet beauty — it's all yours to enjoy.
And yes, the hot tub is always open. Want to take a midnight soak under the stars? Go for it. With no neighbors in sight (or earshot), this space is your private slice of canyon paradise.

Please note – sounds are audible from the nearby highways (the majority of our guests are unbothered by it) and it reminds us of the sounds of the sea, but if you or anyone in your group is sensitive to noise please take this into account.


As a guest, you will have access to the entire home. There are two steps to the front door (the bottom level of the SeaBarn). The SeaBarn has a loft space so be extra careful if you are considering bringing extra small people. Below the home is an unfinished basement and solarium that is not part of the listing. It will be vacant during your stay.

Parking here is a breeze. Even novice parkers can easily fit multiple cars on this super-long driveway.


We live in town (in the neighborhood actually!) and are always available by phone for your needs. We respect your privacy and visit the property only if you request us to for your needs. We pride ourselves on being responsive hosts so if there is anything you need at all please don’t hesitate to reach out. You are staying on the border of University and Normal Heights (the most coveted area of North Park San Diego). You are close to everything and this neighborhood has amazing restaurants, bars, coffee shops, yoga, clothing stores and parks all within a few steps. All this while being incredibly safe!

Normal Heights is very walkable but we also recommend either having a car or using a ride service like Uber/Lyft to explore greater San Diego (there are buses and the nearest trolley stop is Rio Vista Station on the Green line 2.1 miles away). Southern California is not well known for its public transportation.

☀ Note, there are no cameras in the vacation rental areas of the property – there is a camera in the basement to deter unwanted activity – it does not view the hot tub or any area for guests.

☀ We have an additional rental agreement that is required to be signed after booking your reservation. We also collect a copy of your government ID/license as required by our insurance company to have on file. We reserve the right to cancel reservations if these requirements are not met within 24 hours of booking.

☀ Please note – sounds are audible from the nearby highways (the majority of our guests are unbothered by it) but if you or anyone in your group is sensitive to noise please take this into account. We provide earplugs and white noise sound generators for each bedroom.

☀ Unexpected circumstances happen - we HIGHLY recommend purchasing travelers insurance to protect your stay. No exceptions can be made to the cancellation policy or refund policy.

☀ The SeaBarn is for travelers who crave something a little different — a sense of adventure, a lot of privacy, and a touch of starlit magic.
If you're looking for a traditional 5-star hotel with full-service luxury and polished perfection, this might not be the place for you — and that's okay. The SeaBarn is all about character, charm, and a truly unique San Diego experience.
Any violations of the house rules or any terms of this Agreement will be subject to fine and/or termination by the Host.

1) No parties, large gatherings or unauthorized guests. Maximum occupancy for this property is six people. There shall be a minimum fine of $500 for this violation.

2) No smoking, drugs or illegal substances anywhere on property. There shall be a minimum fine of $1,000 for this violation.

3) There are no quiet hours at the property but we are located on a residential street so please be respectful when traveling to and from the SeaBarn

4) Must be 18 years and older to book.

5) Maximum 2 dogs allowed on the property. $250 pet fee for the first pet and $150 for the second pet. No cats allowed. Please refrain from pets on beds/furniture and dispose of pet waste from property or an additional $200 cleaning fee will be applied.

6) Please checkout on time. A $100 late fee will be applied for every 30 minutes guests are late passed checkout time.

7) A $200 replacement fee will be applied for missing remotes, keys or other items from the property. A $50 processing fee will be applied to ship back personal items left behind.

8) No shipping packages to the property. You may ship to local shipping centers for pickup only. Shipped packages will be returned to sender with a $50 processing fee.

9) We highly suggest purchasing travel insurance to protect guest’s reservations.

Upon arrival, the door code provided did not work. Also, there was a large snake on the property downstairs by the grill area. We had to call management out to take care of it. They sent someone out but by the time they came out, the snake was nowhere to be found. We didn't use the hot tub or the grill area because of it. They offered us 380 but have not received the money as of yet. The traffic noise outside was significant but thankfully you couldn't really hear it while in the house unless you have a window open. Most everything else was pretty good. Overall, noisy property, watch for snakes!
This was the snake.  Non-venemous but 3 feet long!
