On The Beach Casa



This beautiful Spanish style adobe, with private front row bay access - combined with city and harbor views - is a great place to call “home” for your seaside vacation in San Diego. This home can also be rented with a 1-bedroom, 1-bath home next to it - which might be perfect for grandparents or grown adult children. Please see Sandy Pointe Beach Club if you might be interested in this configuration.



The Space:

This 2-bedroom, 1.5 bath, 1500 sq. ft., 2-story casa is a great place for indoor/outdoor living as it features a large shared view harbor and city view patio with comfortable seating, an outside dining table, and a fire pit area with chairs + a grill!



Enter this beautifully appointed nautical themed home and take 4 steps down the stairs where you will find a spacious, tastefully decorated great room featuring a large seating cluster, including an overstuffed chair where you can stretch out and simultaneously enjoy the flat screen TV and the views.



To its left is a dining room with slider access to the harbor view patio, a dining table for 6, and a small settee where you can rest and enjoy the view for a different perspective.



A beautiful modern kitchen has everything you need to create meals and snacks for everyone, and there is even a small workspace and chair here. To the right of the kitchen is a half bath - the shower portion of that bathroom does not work - however there is a house just outside that door equipped with warm water to rinse off the bay's sand as you head home after a long day in the sun!



Back at the entry is a 15-step staircase to the 2nd floor, with a king master bedroom to the right. It has a large flat screen TV and a private 2nd floor patio perfect for morning coffee, afternoon refreshment, or an evening libation. With two seats and an umbrella, its the perfect escape within your escape!



Straight ahead from the stairs is the 2nd bedroom with a queen bed and a twin trundle, so this can comfortably sleep 5-6 in beds. It also has a comfortable armchair and an expansive harbor and city view as well.



These 2 bedrooms share a full bath with a shower/tub combination. All bed and bathrooms are furnished with an ample supply of premiere linens to ensure you are always comfortable. Big beach towels are also available.



Additional amenities include WIFI and cable, a washer and dryer for your use and convenience street parking near the home.

A little about the area:



La Playa is a bayfront neighborhood in the Point Loma community of San Diego, California. It is bordered by the San Diego Bay on the east, Naval Base Point Loma on the south, the Wooded Area neighborhood to the west and Point Loma Village/Roseville-Fleetridge to the north. It lies across a channel from Shelter Island.



THINGS WE LOVE ABOUT THIS HOME!



You are just a short drive to the beach, airport, and freeway access so you can easily explore the greater San Diego area - with its multitude of world-class attractions - then retreat to your quiet space to rest, relax, and recharge.



Grocery stores and a nice selection of cafes and eateries are nearby in Point Loma, so you can treat yourself to various cuisine options, including great places for feasting on fresh fish!



You are also near Shoreline Park, Point Loma Nazarene University, and Point Loma Community Park, so beautiful open spaces for walking are also easily available.



THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS HOME:



There is no smoking allowed - inside or outside our properties - NO EXCEPTIONS!



No pets are allowed at this home - No Exceptions.



This “On the Beach Casa” sleeps 5 comfortably in beds with a maximum of 7 occupants. One of the king bedrooms is on the 1st floor, so it is ideal for those who cannot easily navigate stairs.



This home (like most in this coastal area) does not have air conditioning. Space heaters are provided for warmth, as needed.



This home is not equipped with Forced Air or Heat. You will be provided space heaters in the winter and fans in the summer.



There is only street parking for this home.



The bedrooms in this home are upstairs so it may not be suitable for everyone.



This home shares the back patio with the 1-bedroom casita ("On The Beach Casita") right next to it. The patio is spacious, so this should not be problematic for our guests.



The home is a DUPLEX so the units share 1 wall - the wall in the downstairs living room is shared with the small casita next door.



This home is in a quiet neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental agreement includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced. Please make sure you are comfortable with these policies before renting with La Jolla Vacation Rentals CA.

Quiet Beach Time

We've stayed in the 1-bedroom duplex next door and it was fully renovated while this one, the 2-bedrooom we stayed at this time is a bit dated. The layout is fine with a split level entry, large living room and separate dining and separate kitchen. The views and the local's beach access and outdoor furniture is fantastic. Kitchen worked well. Dishwasher needed help pre-washing for sure. The dining chairs were like sinking into bean bags. My daughter, girlfiend and our couple of friends that dropped by for an afternoon all agreed. Not a big deal. TV's were app/streaming only so we were able to watch a couple of shows we were hoping to on Sunday - NFL. The bedroom sheets and linens were excellent. While we didn't mind waking every morning to the Star Spangled Banner piped across the bay from the Naval Station, the jets and other outstandingly loud airplanes on Saturday morning were annoying for well over an hour. One drawback of this two-bedroom unit was that the only heat was via several space heaters we had to carefully relocated throughout the building so we could take our coats off. It was a chilly weekend but no central heat seemed a bit weird to us. We managed and it was a bit of a joke at times. The location is spectacular!!! It's on a really quiet street, right on a local's beach with dogs and frisbees and footballs and tanning bodies on occasion. There were paddleboarders and all sorts of boats and ships passing by quietly, and sailing regatta folks...and dolphins!

Outdated

Not enough supplies was available. No dishwashing liquid, limited on salt and other kitchen stuffs. Everything is so old and outdated. Don’t like having to share the patio with a next door renters. Parking is hectic. Good location though.
