OB Tropics


The space
It is the middle cottage in a gated community of 3 separate cottages – each with their own patio and BBQ - all 3 share the Jacuzzi.

A favorite spot with locals to stroll just a few minutes to the end of the Street with their cocktail glass to report on their day as the sun goes down.

Living Room features a Queen size Futon, Flat Screen TV and lots of Rustic Charm.

Attached to the living room is the Dining Room with ample seating for the whole family.

There are 2 bedrooms in the home, the master bedroom has a Queen bed with TV and the second bedroom - that is connected to the Master - as a Jack and Jill bedroom - has 2 twin beds. You have to walk through the Master Bedroom to reach the guest bedroom.

The Ocean Beach Tropics has a fully equipped kitchen with washer and dryer onsite, internet, WiFi and Cable TV.

We are pet friendly but it is important to remember that the yard is shared and so your dog may not run free in the yard without supervision at all times.

Tire your pet out with a visit to dog beach just a short drive down the street.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:
No Smoking is allowed inside any of our properties. You are welcome to smoke in outside areas of the home.

Due to the moderate coastal climate, this house (like most in the area) does not have air conditioning.

This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental agreement includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties. Deposit forfeitures and/or evictions are strictly enforced.

For homes that allow pets there are certain rules that always apply. Pets are never to be left alone in the homes unattended. If you plan to spend time away from your pet please find a doggy daycare. You can call our office for recommendations.

Ocean Beach lies in the San Diego International Airport flight path for some departing flights. No planes can depart after 11:30 pm or before 6:30 am.

Please make sure you are comfortable with these policies before renting with La Jolla Vacation Rentals.

Cosy Casita

Cosy casita that leaves nothing to be desired. Great furnishings, everything in the kitchen too. The lack of air conditioning was not a problem even in July, as it was not so hot and ceiling fans provided a pleasant room climate. There are fly screens in front of almost all the windows. The shared use of the washing machine, the USB socket and the garage parking space were a great plus. The location was quiet and yet there were plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. We used the small shady terrace for our breakfast and felt very comfortable. Would have liked to stay longer.

Quaint cottage in OB

Cute little place with nice amenities, beautiful grounds and outside seating/dining area, walk to beach and restaurants, great for couple or small family. Street parking is challenging, glad we didn't have a car.

Perfect for our family…

Place was sparkling when we arrived. Codes worked as expected, despite my brain. Never got the original email but Michael remedied that rapidly. The venue was completely as described. There was a great hot tub. A couple of gas grills (lucky as one of them was out of propane, the other did the trick!). Parking in the garage for one car was great! If you have a second car, prepare to be super patient as street parking full. You’re only a couple blocks from the most beautiful sunset San Diego has to offer…. Our only snafu was the main bed in the big bedroom. One of the supports had previously broken or something - as the left side head of the bed was being supported by a brick. Said brick decided to flip in the middle of the night one of the nights scaring the **** out of us. That was really the only less-than-stellar part of our stay. Would definitely stay here again

Nice holiday weekend

Accurate description of property and outstanding location. We could walk to beach and restaurants too. It worked for a family of 3. Plus side had better than most vbro’s for pots, pans and dishes. Private secure courtyard were beautiful and garage a bonus. Negative side—Could use new silverware. Getting hot water in kitchen was an issue for us. Sprayer at sink needs replacing. And no dishwasher or garbage disposal which I had forgotten about. The walk through to second bedroom worked for us, but a bit awkward. Overall the 3 night worked well for us and priced affordability for area.

Beach Oasis

Delightful compound of three houses enclosed by a privacy fence in a walkable location close to the beach. We stayed in the middle cottage and had our own patio. Great attention to detail, so there is everything you need. Bonus is that there is a garage to park in. The grounds are very well manicured and it is very lush.

Lovely bungalow and court yard

Beautiful lush jungle yard with succulents and palms with inviting sitting areas. Accommodations were perfect for our family, space and amenities were just right. The hot tub was a plus for sure. It was very comfortable and easy location. Having a garage parking spot is golden. All in all lovely place to stay.
