Mission Bay's Blue Waters Complimented By White Sand Beaches

Located in the heart of San Diego's most popular bay (Mission Bay) and just 2 blocks one direction to Fiesta Bay and 2 blocks the other direction to Sail Bay (Beautiful Sunsets) our place offers everything you might need to rest, rejuvenate and have some fun in San Diego! Note: The street does get a fair amount of traffic so you will hear some road noise in the living room with the windows open.

Not only are we right down the street from shopping, restaurants and entertainment, but we are mere minutes from San Diego's best beaches, including Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, La Jolla and Del Mar. Sea World is right around the corner (literally 2 minutes), Balboa Park is just a hop, skip and a jump away, and the Gaslamp District is about 10 minutes down Interstate 5. Let's just say we're about 10 minutes from almost any place you might want to visit in our amazing city, as well as the San Diego International Airport!

This home is a tastefully designed two-bedroom with a full kitchen that can sleep six. Our beach cottage features two queen-sized beds, along with a very comfortable sofa sleeper. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and amenities include, free Wi-Fi and Netflix.

Photos were taken in 2015. Please expect normal wear and tear over that time period. Furniture and furnishings may be different than pictured as items are replaced and updated.

The host was very responsive. The layout was really good for two people who want their own bedrooms. The house was very clean and location was excellent. It was on a busy street but traffic noise was not bad after 10 pm. No washer/dryer but there is a laundromat nearby. Overall the house is a little “tired” with blinds that don’t quite work and old cabinets but it is very clean and host was easy to work with. I would stay here again.

Decent place to stay close to many attractions.

Didn't expect new, but needs a new coat of paint. 2 chairs in the living room were gross. Orange couch was very uncomfortable. Screen in 1 bedroom window would have allowed bugs to come in if opened, plus it's a busy street so very noisy when windows are open. So we got a little warm.. fans didn't really help as much as we'd have liked. Carpet looked ancient. Pictures on walls very cute. Furniture in kitchen and living room was all mismatched, even the silverware. Hadn't received info on how to get in beforehand. But host was avail by phone quickly. Tub, sink & soap dish in bath need replaced. My bedding didn't seem crisp and freshly washed, though it didn't look dirty, but didn't smell just washed either. The photos show bright colorful bedding, this was gray. Kind of a let down. Having said all that, the house was clean and had what we needed for our short stay. It was not disgusting, just a little disappointing. It was a great location for all the things that we did in the area. Big enough for what we needed. I honestly don't think it would take too much money to change the things that I mentioned.

Everything is falling apart. There is a chip in the tub that looks like a giant spider, the beds squeak, the bathroom sink nobs turn both ways so there is no real off and the sink leaks, the floor boards are coming up all over the place, and parking is an absolute NIGHTMARE. Was nervous to have our toddler here as parking was so unsafe we carried her everywhere - not ideal for families.

Great Little House

We enjoyed this great little house. Very central to shopping, groceries, and restaurants. The bay was just a couple blocks away going either direction. All four of us had a lovely time and will come again.

Nice Place

Location between two bay/beach options was great for my early morning runs. Not enough bathroom towels but Drew, the owner, took care of the problem and was responsive. Parking was difficult at times but I used the Circuit for local transportation. The unit was very spacious and clean. No A/C and temps reached mid 90s. Fans help. You can't control the weather. I would stay there again.

Cozy with beachy vibes

Nice place with everything you need for a family to stay, with everything nearby. Beautiful weather, convenient location. Not too much trouble finding parking. Definitely noisy as disclosed in description due to it being on a major street, but it was not a nuisance. No A/C, but the weather permits the opening of the windows with a few fans. It was no trouble at all. Will definitely consider staying again in the future.

Location is fabulous as are the hosts.

Location between two bay/beach options is amazing! Hosts were so helpful getting us our son's forgotten stuffed animal back. Perfect for families with young children. We celebrated our son's 7th birthday with a bonfire on the beach. He loved it! House has everything you would need and location offers walking access to the bay.

Thanksgiving memories

We loved everything about this property. The owner, Drew, happened to be there when we arrived and gave us a warm welcome. The property had everything we needed to cook, hang out and relax. The water was a few blocks away, so morning walks were absolutely wonderful. Having great weather was a bonus! We would definitely come back!

Horrible experience the other minister with me my wife had asthma of the minister and his wife had asthma the mole was terrible in there the smell of mold the windows were unlocked the doors were unlocked the carpet was down from being clean. It was just a horrible experience with your property I was very inconvenient, in the middle of the night I have to find another motel to sleep in which was very uncomfortable for the four of us I would never rent property like this again. Plus I haven't been reimbursed my money from the two properties in which I rented the one in UTC and this property so would you please reciprocate with my funds 😤😤😠😡🤬

Was overall ok

The property was close to parks, beaches & amusement parks, which was very nice; however if you leave, your likely not able to find a parking spot when you return since only option is street parking. This becomes chaotic if you have small children (infants & toddlers) and all of their stuff to truck around. The listing doesn't mention that there is no A/C in the rental. I understand that it can be nice to open all the windows for a nice breeze...but with the amount of traffic & noise this is not an option if you or an infant plan on sleeping at all. However, in order to have ANY air flow, you have to keep the windows open 😔 big disappointment & extremely hot & stuffy during these summer months. Overall, the rental was nice, but would have preferred an option to utilize A/C for nighttime hours. We would not stay here again unfortunately.

Cute and Comfy!

We had a pleasant stay at this property! You can walk to the bay from the property and beach is a close drive. The only thing I would recommend is bringing your own towels/wash clothes or that this property leave extra towels and provide wash clothes. All in all, we had a good time!

An Excellent Stay

Our stay Mellow Yellow was wonderful. The property is lovely with a great open kitchen living room and both a front porch and side outdoor space. It's in a more residential area so quite, but not far from Pacific Beach.

Not what you'd expect from the pics!

Not what we were expecting 😤 Where do I begin?... We couldn't check-in at the appointed time- we arrived and the cleaning lady had just started cleaning. We ended up washing ALL the utensils in order to use them. There are several burnt out light bulbs, the ceiling fan in the bedroom away from the street will not turn off (pull chain is stuck), the tall lamp on the living room will also not turn on (switch clicks but nothing happens), there were no washcloths, only 4 bath towels, 2 forks!, the stools at the kitchen island are super squeaky and wobbly, and the food that was left in the fridge previously is NOT usable. It is open, freezer burnt and just plain gross. The half drunk bottle of wine in the fridge is also not consumable- covid or not. There are large gaps in the flooring where it's pulled apart (laminate), the blinds in the kitchen are broken, the side yard is an absolute mess, the window in the shower was gross!, the outlets in the bedrooms are so worn that you can't keep anything plugged in... This is the 6th time I've rented a VRBO and unfortunately the worst experience. From not being able to check in on time to things not working properly in the unit or items not included that should've been. Also, the TWO beach chairs are filthy and on their last leg as well as the garbage can in the kitchen that I had to repair to use. The outlets in both bedrooms are so loose that you have to prop the plugs to keep them in. The side yard where the garbage cans are located is a disaster. The laminate floor is so pulled apart that it's nearly impossible to sweep and keep clean. There's also no hand soap in the bathroom. We found an empty bottle and poured some of the dish soap in it to use during our stay. I realize that I've listed a few things twice, but good grief this isn't acceptable. Positive: The location is great and the unit could be fantastic with a little care.

Great location / Sometimes noisy

Walking distance to great park and beach. House sits on corner of a busy street, so traffic is loud. Walls are thin so if the neighbors are noisy, you hear it all. Otherwise it was a nice place, easy to find in a great location with easy access to many of San Diego’s attractions.

Love the "Mellow Yellow"

This was my first time ever renting an Airbnb, and I'm so pleased that we had an amazing experience. It was so cozy and with enough amenities for us. My children loved the place as well. I loved the fact that there is a front porch with seating, my fiancé and I were able to enjoy our morning coffee out front together every day. I will say though, the parking situation was kind of a bummer since it is street parking, but we made due. Thank you again for opening your home to us, if ever in the area again, I would look into this property again.

Great location near the Bay!

This was a very cute place to stay. We had 5 people in our group, 3 adults and 2 teenagers. We had plenty of room and we were close to everything we wanted to visit! The closets were stocked with extra towels and blankets and even things to use at the beach, chairs, umbrellas, boogie board, games! The kitchen was a little short on utensils but that didn't stop us from utilizing the great kitchen for cooking while we were there! Drew and his family were great with communication and we have bookmarked this place for future visits! While there is not a dedicated parking spot we did not have issues finding parking either in front of the place or just across the road. The road noise was not an issue either. We would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a cozy place to stay while visiting the Mission Bay area!

Not what I was expecting

It was a great location and 15-20 minutes to almost anything. I did read the reviews before booking so we were aware of the traffic noise ahead of time. We stayed for a week after Christmas. The place was surface clean but if you took a closer look it was dirty. Pull-out mattress would be suitable for a child but not for an adult, very thin mattress. Couch was lumpy, towels in bathroom were old and faded, inside of drawers were dirty, floorboards dirty, chairs on the island wobbly and squeaky, blinds in kitchen sections were broken, dishware needs updating. You can hear the neighbors through the walls, I think next door is another rental. Careful with showers because the hot water runs out fast. A few small updates/repairs and is thoroughly cleaning is needed.

Great Place!

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Yellow Mellow. Quite Neighboorhood, really close to the beach and the house was clean. Only down side was the lack of AC and it's only one bathroom.
