Cozy Studio Cottage - Near Floores Country Store, SeaWorld and Fiesta Texas

Located in the charming wooded setting of Grey Forest, this studio cottage has all the comforts of home. Sip tea in your own greenhouse, cocktails by the fountain or warm yourself by the fire pit. This cottage is perfect for taking a break from all the stresses of modern life, or simply for relaxing after an eventful day visiting SeaWorld, Fiesta Texas, or Floore’s Country Store - the iconic country music venue. Enjoy a romantic dinner in rustic elegance at the Grey Moss Inn. Spend an afternoon in nature at the Guadalupe River or Canyon Lake or take a 20 minute drive to the romantic San Antonio RiverWalk. The studio sits at the far end of this historic property behind the main house. This little country paradise is nestled right on the outskirts of NW San Antonio and was home to the famous landscape artist Robert Wood back in the 1930's & 40’s. THE SPACE: This cottage is a studio, furnished with a comfortable Queen Bed, a well equipped Kitchen with granite countertops, stove and refrigerator and a Bathroom with shower. This cottage has High-Speed Wireless Internet access as well as a Flat Screen Smart TV with Netflix and local channels. GUEST ACCESS: You will have access to a furnished stone courtyard with a waterfall fountain, a fire pit and charcoal grill. The Studio Cottage also has two outdoor chairs and an adjoining greenhouse with a table and chairs. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Perhaps the best feature of our cottages is that they are located in historical Grey Forest not far from the old Boerne to San Antonio stagecoach line. We are just minutes from SeaWorld and Six Flags and only about 17 miles from the Alamo and the romantic San Antonio Riverwalk and about 20 miles from the beautiful Guadalupe River State Park. If you want to stay closer, within walking or biking distance is a very romantic and well-known restaurant called the ‘Grey Moss Inn’ ( In addition there are various nature walking paths, a spring fed creek and Madla Natural Area close by. We are only 2.5 miles from Old Town Helotes, which is home to the John T. Floore Country Store where major Country Music acts routinely perform. ( It is where Willie Nelson got his start and still plays every October. Market Days are every first Saturday of the month where you can visit are several shops and just enjoy the "Old Town" feel.

Hill country charm

Very Nice

Overall a very nice property with privacy and quiet for two people. Only issue was there were not any comfortable chairs to set on. The two chairs with the table did not have cushions and they were hard. No other chairs in the cottage. Some cushions would help for sure. But otherwise was a great place to stay.

Excellent Cottage

Wonderful setting! Sweet little cottage just the right size for the two of us. Close to what we were there for and close to SA!! Very comfortable and relaxing. Loved sitting out on the patio early morning listening to the birds. Will definitely stay here again! Met the owner and very engaging and nice! Loved that she took the time to visit.

I had a pleasant stay in the cottage. Great place for quiet evenings and it's in the middle of a forest, very private location. High speed internet tested 110Mbs. John and Katherine are easy to communicate with. I recommend it!

Lovely cottage in limestone lined backyard garden under spreading liveoak trees. Nestled in quiet secluded artists enclave of Grey Forest, where the 20 mph speed limit is strictly enforced. Wonderful host. Relaxing stay. Enjoy a stay in the Texas Hill Country with San Antonio at your fingertips.

Cozy Studio Cottage

The place is delightful and perfect for one or two people. I enjoyed my stay and the quiet peaceful neighborhood. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting the area. The host was also wonderful and made sure I had a pleasant check in.

Sweet little cottage amongst an oak grove

Lovely neighborhood, conducive to walks. Located in the Hill Country of Texas; we had a great time exploring said Country and its wildflower bloom. We enjoyed breakfasts on the terrace and the singing of eastern bird species - a Carolina Wren gave little pips of inquiry outside our window when we got up at night; and on our last day we even spotted a Golden-cheeked Warbler high in one of the oaks! A great place to stay when bird watching in the Hill Country.

Helotes trip.

Great quiet place. Perfect location for this trip. Only thing that I could say is that if you are a big person the shower will be a tight fit. Otherwise we will definitely be back. Loved it.

Perfect for a getaway

This property was perfect for my wife and I to take a weekend getaway. Easy access to Helotes and surroundings. We saw a show at Floore's Country Store and it was a 5 minute drive with no problem getting an Uber. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful Stay!

Great little rock patio to start and end your day. Very convenient location for day trips. John and Cate are wonderful host. We very much enjoyed their friendliness and hospitality. Cottage is small, but accomodated all out needs. Area is beautiful as Cate works like a bandit to keep lush and manicured. Comes with being a master gardener, I suppose. Highly recommend for a quite and peaceful get-away.

Fine retreat for solo traveler

Solo traveler visiting a friend moved recently to an assisted living. It was perfect having a place to retreat to in the evening that was safe and comfortable. So clean, so calm and quiet, with a super deluxe bed and just everything I needed and nothing more. Very restorative, and close enough to northeast San Antonio that I could easily come and go

We had a very pleasant weekend stay at this little cottage. Super comfortable and peaceful. Everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare food and really nice linens. Close proximity to all sorts of entertainment and hill country activities. We will be back!

Quiet Anniversary Getaway!!!

This cottage was clean and well-kept. All our needs were met very easily. It was only about 10 minutes away from the shops at La Cantera and Fiesta Texas. We were about 25 minutes away from San Antonio Riverwalk, and fairly easy to get to and from downtown San Antonio. I love reading about the history behind the Cottage. My wife and I would go back to this cottage in a heartbeat.
