Checkerboard House 3 Bedrooms-Sea World, Lackland

Fun & comfy 3 bed/2 bath house in San Antonio. Located inside Loop 1604, it's a 15 min drive to Lackland AFB & Sea World and a 20-25 min drive to downtown attractions, The Riverwalk, 6 Flags, and the San Antonio Zoo. Pets are considered on a case-by-case basis.

You will enjoy the open concept floor plan with a large dining table and a built-in bench for plenty of seating & the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare and serve meals!

The Master Suite includes a king size bed and a walk-in shower. Bedroom 2 has a full size bed and bedroom 3 features a twin over full bunk bed. The hall bath includes a tub/shower combo and there is a washer & dryer in the garage stocked with laundry detergent & bleach.

Smart TVs in the living room and 2 of the bedrooms so you can stream your favorites from Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, etc. A high chair, pack-n-play & stroller are available for your little ones.

The back yard features a covered checkerboard patio with giant checkers as well as a picnic table with umbrella, fire pit, charcoal grill, hammock and giant Connect 4!

Other things to note:
There is enough space to sleep 8 people, assuming one person will sleep on the sofa.
Although the house is suitable for infants and includes
a high chair, play pen/crib and stroller, it is not "baby proofed."
The house is situated in a long, quiet Culebra-de-sac with no through traffic. With quick access to Loop 1604, you can easily connect to the major highways & get pretty much anywhere in San Antonio in 30 minutes or less.

Truly enjoyed our stay. Clean, great yard space, comfortable beds, hot water worked well, all rooms had ceiling fans and 2 extra floor fans to use. Location is extremely convenient to JBSA Lackland, HEB, Walmart, Costco, lots of places to eat and shop in Dove Creek and off Potranco. The owners are extremely responsive and thorough with their responses. If other reviews call out cats and lots of cars, I would say do not let that deter you. Yes there are cats but they are not a bother at all and don’t really come to this house and are actually great for bugs. In San Antonio neighborhoods it isn’t uncommon for people to park along the street, so that shouldn’t be a deal breaker. The house is in a culdesac so less traffic zooming through (or none at all). Extremely quiet. Will be our go to when we come in town to visit!

Cali Family visiting San Antonio

1st time to San Antonio, so we, of course, were not familiar with the area or neighborhoods. But enjoyed our stay. House was cute and quant and was easy to get to. House was close to multiple options for food and grocery shopping. We were about 20 minutes from downtown, the river walk, the Alamo, Airport and also visited the Hospitak which was also about 30 minutes in differnet direction. Overall, our visit was nice. Rooms are spacious and back yard is nice for visiting and enjoying a bbq or just drinking coffee. I'd stay again.

KIND OF CREEPY

THE PROPERTY WAS FINE, IT WAS EASY ACCESS ON AND OFF THE HIGHWAY SO GETTING TO ACTIVITIES WAS NOT DIFICULT BUT THE FIRST EVENING WE WERE THERE A MAN WAS WATCHING MY GRAND DAUGHTERS THROUGH THE FENCE (IT REALLY NEEDS REPAIRED) I STEPPED OUT AND HE STARTED EXPLAINING THAT HE WAS THERE TO ASSIST WITH CLEANING OUT THE BACK YARD OF THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR. HE WALKED AWAY FROM THE FENCE AND I HAVE TO SAY NOTHING WAS CLEANED IN THE BACK YARD. IT WAS AND STILL IS A MESS. I KEPT A CLOSE EYE ON THE KIDS WHILE THEY WERE OUTSIDE.

Great place for BMT graduation

We stayed for our son's BMT graduation. With the fully stocked kitchen, we were able to have an awesome family meal and spend time relaxing and hearing all about BMT. The location is only a short 10 minute deice from the nase.

Great stay!

The property was very clean and nice! Only a 10 minute drive to seaworld, and 25 to six flags. Plus so many food options within minutes. Zero complaints about this property! Would definitely recommend to anyone going to San Antonio.

Good location

The neighborhood is old, but the house is updated and comfortable. It was about 15 minutes from Lackland Air Force Base, where we attended grandson's graduation it seemed we were able to get to all of the attractions within about 15 minutes.

Just right!

We stayed here for our BMT graduation. It was clean, comfortable, exactly as listed. The neighborhood was quiet. The house was well stocked with things you might need for a stay. Owners were very responsive to any questions. Beds and bedding were comfortable. My only suggestion is to add another piece of furniture to the family room. We had 5 adults staying and a couple others visit during our visit with our airman those days and there wasn’t enough room on the sofas for everyone. Would stay again! Great value!

Clean house to stay in

We stayed here for our son’s graduation from BMT at Lackland and it’s just inside the 1604 loop. The house was clean and the AC worked great! Lots of restaurants nearby and Lackland was about a 15 minute drive, depending on traffic.
