The space
Narnia on the East Bench is a brand-new construction (built in 2023), that was designed 100% with our guests’ comfort in mind. While we don't have a lion or a witch...the wardrobe in the bunk room provides our little guests with a secret access into the kids designated play area. It's a perfect space for privacy away from adults to read a book, watch a movie on a tablet, or to let their imaginations run wild.

Our space is an open concept with 9ft ceilings and a direct private entrance into the home.
You'll enjoy 1600sq ft of room to rest, relax, gather, and build memories. Seating for 6 around the massive island along with seating for 8 around the dining room table ensures plenty of space for home cooked meals or take-out from the numerous restaurants located nearby to be enjoyed. These areas are the perfect space for discussing the day’s activities, enjoying company and conversation, or playing games.

The beautiful kitchen comes equipped with a gas range/oven, full sized LG refrigerator, convection microwave oven, dishwasher, and a farmhouse sink. Small appliances include a coffee maker, toaster, crock pot, rice cooker, juicer, pressure cooker, popcorn popper, waffle maker, ice maker, pots/pans, tupperware, mixing bowls, utensils, cutlery, dishes, and more.

Enjoy the convenience of doing your laundry in the brand-new LG washer and dryer. Laundry, soap, and dryer sheets are provided.

The living room offers a 75" HD smart TV with Premium DirecTV service. Every channel including the MLB Extra Innings, NHL Center Ice, NBA League Pass, HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, and more can be enjoyed from a comfortable leather recliner, basking in the warm glow of the fireplace.

The primary bedroom features a comfortable memory foam, king size bed, spacious closet, blackout curtains, and a 55" HD smart TV, with ambient lighting.

The bunk room offers 3 cozy queen size beds each with memory foam mattresses, the Narnia wardrobe, a 65" HD Smart TV, blackout curtains and room to stow away your luggage.

The Primary bathroom offers a spacious double vanity, separate privacy door to the toilet and walk-in shower. There is an additional half bath that provides the convenience of a second toilet and vanity with ample space to get ready.

You’ll also enjoy a private outdoor patio with seating for 8 and a propane firepit to unwind and enjoy the clean mountain air and breath-taking mountain views.

Great location with stores and restaurants 5 minutes away and skiing a short drive too. The hosts are great, super responsive and helpful with the locale and the place was awesome, clean with everything needed for a great stay. Would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful place. This doesn't feel like a rental, it feels like home. The attention to details that Chad and Kylee put into the design of this basement unit really shows through. With the high ceilings, ample light, and furnishings you do not feel like you are in a lower unit. Super clean! I appreciate the small touches and there were plenty of them. From the plethora of night lights throughout the place, extra paper towels, non-industrial toilet paper, and shampoo/body wash dispensers in the shower. Excellent communication throughout and excellent restaurant recommendations every night we were there. Chad is a great guy, I encourage you to find time to Chat with him. He takes pride in this rental unit and it come across in so many ways. Definitely will be returning next year. Thanks for everything Chad.

Wonderful place to stay!  My boys and I spent 30 nights at The Narnia Gateway and loved every minute.  The boys were comfortable and had fun with the unique spot for “littles”.  The Hale family were phenomenal hosts.  They were very communicative as well as heavily helpful.  When staying here, you certainly can tell that they enjoy the happiness that their cozy little nook can bring to other families.  Having also stayed there for an extended period, It was clear that their kitchen and property in general was meant to welcome both short-term and long-term stays.  You will not be disappointed if you choose this place for your getaway.  It certainly is located close to skiing, biking, hiking, shops, and everything else you could want.  Given the opportunity, I would certainly stay there again and again.  *Thank you, Chad and Kylee, for everything you did for me and my family!!!

This was our second time staying at The Narnia Gateway and it was just as nice this time as it was the first. I don't have a single complaint and would highly recommend this rental. The hosts have thought of absolutely everything you many need or want when away from home. They are also extremely friendly and aim to please. They checked in with us upon arrival to make sure everything was as expected and they took an interest in the reason we were visiting Salt Lake. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Top Shelf Accommodation

Can’t say enough good things about this place. All reviews highlight the bigs things and they’re all accurate. Let me highlight the small things that differentiate this place from others. The towels are amazing. Soft, thick and great size. Entire cupboard full them. Night lights everywhere and they’re so helpful at night if you need a bathroom visit. LED lights create an amazing vibe I’ve never seen anywhere. Fun to change based on time of day. Closet LED lights… brilliant. If there is a kitchen utensil you need, they probably have it. You’ll see what I’m talking about during your stay. The host is very helpful and a great communicator. We felt very welcome. You will not be disappointed. It is a basement unit but you will not care or even notice.

We came for a soccer tournament and had the best most relaxing stay with Chad and his family. They were so helpful and went above and beyond with communicating. We’ve stayed at lists of VRBOS and this is was the best! So comfortable! I actually wanted to stay any extra day just to relax there! Lots of space for our family of 6.

Narnia Gateway - perfect place!

Narnia Gateway was the perfect place for our getaway! Tastefully decorated with a full kitchen, we felt right at home. Centrally located to hikes and National parks as well as numerous good restaurants & shopping, it was a perfect home base. The owners are hospitable and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing, delightful stay.

A diamond in the rough

My family and I stayed at Narnia Gateway while visiting relatives in Salt Lake. We have utilized VRBO all over the US and Mexico when traveling. This home is at the top of the list when it comes to vacation rentals. First of all, the pictures do not do the home justice. It is absolutely beautiful, clean and welcoming. They have not missed a single thing. They also have many added touches to make their guests feel very much at home. As far as hosts go...these two are the best I have ever come across. I almost felt like I had made some new friends by the time we ended our stay. Choosing to stay at this vacation home would not be a mistake. We plan to visit again.

Best place ever

This was such a prime property. Set up so well! There were 4 of us and plenty of dishes and anything you would need in the kitchen - even a hot pot. Beds were SO comfortable! W/D were full size. Hosts were great. Location was easy for getting to both cottonwood canyons. Will definitely stay there again.

Cozy and convenient

Loved our stay at the Narnia Gateway. As soon as I opened the front door I immediately looked back at my wife like “we get to stay here for the next few nights!” Stayed at the tail end of great SLC visit and it was just what we’re looking for and needed. Extremely clean, furniture and beds were comfortable. Cozy linens and towels…no cheap corner cutting on any of the accommodations. Perfect set up for family of 5. Convenient to just about everything in a nice neighborhood with great views. Chad and Kylee were fantastic hosts and were in constant communication to ensure our visit was perfect. Would 100% book again if we come back to the area.

Relaxing stay with short distance to the mountains

Rest at its best

Clean, comfy, cozy great area, we loved every bit of this spot. The kitchen was fully stocked, we made bfast and they had a waffle maker. The accent lights was a nice addition, plus the amazing decor. We took a walk around the neighborhood and ran into a family of deer, so that was cool.

Great skiing vacation

Condo as listed and pictured. Stayed for 6 nights. Excellent location for the Cottonwood Canyon 4 ski areas. Rental unit and exterior appear to be recently renovated. Good quality workmanship and appliances. Spotlessly clean upon arrival. Bathrooms are great. Laundry area as well. Extraordinary well equipped kitchen and spice/cooking basics. Excellent communication from owner (probably the best of my near 20 vacation rentals) and prompt replies if any questions. Plenty of room for family of four (incl 2 teenagers) and more room for additional kids Good natural light for a lower-level unit and more than enough electric lighting. (Should be out skiing all day anyway) My husband rates on clean, decent bed, and not nickel and diming on the 3 T’s (towels, tissues and toilet paper). Passed with flying colors. He also appreciates the quality of workmanship for this unit. We would DEFINITELY stay again and recommend this unit and owner to all. Hope to be back.
